    Seafood Platter with Fish Chowder

10/10! Perfect service, so IDK how the food could be better than the service, but it was. Fish chowder with homemade bread, then the mountainous, decadent seafood platter (with breaded shrimp, clams, scallops, white fish (maybe oysters) with fresh tartar sauce, comfort-food-level potato salad, and coleslaw with a clever zing to complement the seafood. Scrubbed clean, pleasant home-kitchen atmosphere, and clearly where the locals go: if you have to wait out front to be seated don't sweat it. If I'm passing through again, this is DEFINITELY my stop.

    Chipped plate

I don't care how good the food is not when it is served on a plate that's chipped. This was a place that was recommended to us since it was our first time visiting the area. I don't think that I want to be back.

I have always loved coming to George's having grown up visiting my Dad's in Meredith. The diner is a staple for most locals or people I know who live in the area, and it is a quick, easy, great place to eat. It's a no BS diner with good, non-expensive food. There's even a tented area where you can sit outside now. Been coming here my whole life and will continue to! Service is good and it's a great time always.

Delish! Buffalo chicken wrap and tendies. Onion rings were the best! Friendly staff and quick bite.

Steak and Eggs! They also have awesome fried seafood at lunch!

The best diner in the Lakes Region. This was the steak and eggs with toast and homefries. We also love the fried whole belly clams and scallops for 23.99! I will add a picture of that when we get it again.

Love everything about this local gem! Don't change a thing!! Service is exceptional! Food quality and quantity is right on! This is a first come, first serve place... so be patient - it's worth the wait.

We had an amazing lunch here at George's. The place is laid back and the wait staff is always friendly and fabulous. Today we had full belly fried clams with baked potato and I had chicken croquettes with butternut squash and baked potato. The croquettes were huge about 4-5" across. The chicken gravy was homemade and not a bit salty. Delicious. If you're in the area don't let this little diner (but much bigger than it looks) slip by. Meals were on the board

Food was overall decent and I enjoyed it but was not blown away by anything in particular. I will say it was nice to begging with a Parker house roll, cornbread, and homemade carrot relish and crackers--interesting! Similar to an Amish pepper slaw. Turkey was good. Really dug the butternut squash side recommended by the waitress. So buttery and sweet, but not in a yucky way I promise! They have trivia night and music in the bar area for certain nights and a gift shop with to-go food items as well.

Another party came in; seated in a seperate room and third person eventually joined, also in a separate room.... Turkey soup was nasty, tasted Like turkey fat and grease. I order the small turkey dinner, "mixed." Turkey was microwave and disgusting, should have known they were cooking turkey by noon, stuffing has one texture (gloop) and no flavor. Mashed potatoes seemed "real" but the gravy was tasteless and most likely from a mix and microwaved. The "cold pickled beets" had two different colors and were Nasty. "Dinner rolls" was one roll and o e cornbread served in a paper bag to disguise the microwaving of said rolls. This was one of the worst meals I have ever had in a restaurant: it was nasty, disgusting and borderline inedible: do not waste Your time.

I got the Picnic Basket, and my wife got the Dirty Head. Both burgers were cooked very well and the perfect portion size. We also shared a basket of fries - which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. A Must-Stop in New Hampshire!!…read more We were exploring New Hampshire from California and happened to pass by Surfside Burger Bar -- and from the moment we saw it from the outside, we knew it was going to be something special. The outdoor snow globes that u could dine in immediately drew us in, and the inside was warm, cozy, and intimate in the best way. But what truly made our experience unforgettable was Andreea. She was our waitress, bartender, and honestly the heart and soul of the place that day. She was taking care of everything -- serving, cleaning, managing the bar -- basically a one-woman show. Yet despite juggling so much, she made us feel completely welcomed, comfortable, and cared for. Her warmth, kindness, and genuine attentiveness added something magical to our visit. This meal became a memory we'll carry forever, and so much of that is because of Andreea and the way she brought the whole place to life. We highly, highly recommend Surfside Burger Bar to absolutely everyone -- whether you're a local or just passing through like we were. It's a must-stop, and Andrea is a huge part of what makes it so special.

The bad : Service is terrible and nonexistent, you have to order at the bar and pick up your own food. Of course, they ask for a 25% tip anyway. They upsold a beer right before closing, and then told us we have clear off. With the full beer they just happily to sold us. Also, food prices are absolutely disgusting. See the photo with the menu - $13 for a pretzel. Just absolute cash grabbing nonsense. The good: the outdoor space is quite nice. Large lawn, lots of options between picnic tables and Adirondack chairs. Some little trails in a wooded area (for disc golf, but still little paths to walk). The beer is good, at least the farmhouse and Scottish ales.

We came here after attending the massive Gunstock Ski sale. We now have an après ski place coming back home from skiing at Gunstock. Really awesome ambiance and even better service. Just superb service with knowledgeable and friendly bar tenders who explained the brews and the intricate flavors. We tried both their IPAs, the Palmer's Towm IPA and their Lake Cruiser. Both superb. Then a Pumpkin ale that was awesome and a Sour that made us pucker (for the good). Then we thought about food.... Their flat bread pizza, pepperoni and hot honey, is the only thing that beats the Ragged Mountain flatbreads.... And then we had their Bavarian Pretzels which were a wonderful compliment... Overall a superb late afternoon.
