I had tried to clean and resurface my clay tile flooring myself, but I ended up removing a darker stain. For my Christmas present, my husband hired George to do the job right. George knows everything there is to know about clay tile, he is a true expert and also artist. He was able to hand stain and match other parts of the floor, and they turned out absolutely fabulous, with just the sheen that I wanted! It was great about checking in a lot to make sure that the color or the sheen was exactly as I envisioned. I cannot recommend him enough. In reading the reviews for George Gamboa's Stone Care, I would have to agree with all but 1. 5 Stars in my book. More if I could give them. I had a lot of stone work needing to be done in my house. My husband had sourced and was down to two quotes. One for a company we had done business for before on other items in the house and once from George. George came in at 1/2 the cost of the other but my hubs chose for the person we knew. WHAT A MISTAKE! They apparently didn't get what my husband asked for and only quoted a clean, fill, and seal. We needed all that plus resurface and buff. I called George after a week of not having my living area and kitchen as the other company took 5 days for shotty work and left the floors, supposedly newly sealed, with a film that was not sticky, but not wet but in between. There were also streaks. I could go on and on. George had a change in his schedule that following Monday and was there bright and early. He honored the quote and all he wanted to do was to make my house livable again. I never met him by the way. In ONE day he and his son was able to bet my travertine to a beautiful satin shine, sealed twice, and all holes re-filled with the right product, not what the others used. My granite looks like glass and my marble even brighter. In the end...1/3 the cost of the other and done in 2 days. Sending pictures via text all along the way. George's only concern was making it right for us and making sure we were thrilled with the finished product. It was not his bad to begin with. He is a wizard at his craft. I randonly saw a FB ad for George , sent him a message, he responded quickly . I had long ago given up hope that my marble entry way would ever look like it did when it was new. Communication was excellent, and he got me a quote the next day, and I scheduled an appointment, within the same week. He fixed my travertine bathroom flooring (chips, grout) and also cleaned the counters and grout, caulked areas that needed it, and shined my bathtub like I had never seen it before! George is a magician with stone. He refinished and restored our travertine floors (about 5000 square feet) beautifully. He is a real expert and has specialized equipment that enables him to do a superb job. He is a perfectionist. After he had bid the job and we made a contract, he found numerous things that needed extra work - sometimes additional patching and correcting work that he had bid, and sometimes issues with things that were not in the contract, such as in the showers and kitchen counters. He took care of these without additional charge. He returned to correct additional issues (such an unnnoticed flaw in the stone in the shower that was not part of the original contract), promptly, willingly, and again without charge. He is courteous, professional, and prompt. He cleaned up completely after each day's work so that our home never seemed like a construction site. It was a pleasure to have him and his son in our home. I would never have anyone else do stone work in my home. read more
