Upon entering the restaurant, well lit interior with wall painting of Mongolian grass field was seen. The restaurant was very clean and created a comfy dinning atmosphere. There was no outdoor seatings at all. The server was speedy, got us seated within seconds. The menu was simple to read. The price was very reasonable. Food preparation took slightly longer than expected but well worth the wait. The lamb xiaomai was delicious with ground lamb meat and thin wrapping. The beef population like pan cake was delicious too. There is a condiments and soup station, you can fill up your bowl as many times as you want. Very delightful. The lunch order also included complimentary salty milk tea or yogurt. We were definitely satisfied with the portions. The service was good Overall, this place is a gem, and definitely worth returning to try out other dishes. It gets a 4.8 out of 5.

Mandatory 15% tip for ZERO service? And they can't refill some radish?…read more I really wanted to like this place because the concept of Mongolian pies is unique in Rowland Heights. The food itself is decent--the pies are juicy and the lamb soup is hearty on a cold day. However, the dining experience left such a bad taste in my mouth that I can't ignore it. Here's the thing: 1. The "Service" Fee (aka The Silent Robbery): They automatically add a 15% tip to the bill. Normally, I'm okay with this for good service, but here, the service was practically non-existent. We had to flag someone down just to get a water refill. It feels less like a tip and more like a mandatory surcharge that goes straight to the owner while the staff couldn't care less. 2. The "No Refill" Rule: We ordered the Lamb Radish Soup. The broth was good, but when we politely asked if we could have a tiny bit more of the radish (not even the meat, just the veggie) from the kitchen, we got a straight-up "No." For a place charging premium prices and forcing a tip, being told you can't have a few cents worth of radish is just insulting. In short: The food is 3 stars, but the principle of the thing (bad service + forced tip + stingy refill policy) drops it to a 1. If you want to try the pie, do yourself a favor and order takeout to avoid the mandatory service charge that doesn't reflect any actual service.

Came for a casual Friday lunch with the family. Service was fast and easy with a very simple menu…read moreand the food was ready very quickly. There were only 3 main options: 1) lamb shank, 2) lamb ribs, and 3) lamb skewers. All halal and made with New Zealand lamb which was awesome! We tried all 3: one plate of the shank/ribs combination (which came with a bed of rice, pickled veggies, and a bowl of soup) and also one order of the lamb skewers which came with 3 skewers. Everything was excellent but the lamb shank was truly amazing and my favorite item - the meat was outrageously tender and just fell off the bone as I tried to take a piece - we had the shank just basic with no rub. The short ribs were a close second (we had these with the bbq rub and it was tremendous if you wanted more flavor). The skewers were decent - we had them plain because I didn't want anything too spicy but I would def recommend getting the rub for these if I were to get them again. The pickled veggies balanced the heavy meat and rice items perfectly to round out the meal. We also tried the jasmine yuzu tea drink and the homemade yoghurt which ended the meal nicely. I'm not a fan of lamb in general and generally avoid it at most restaurants, but I was loving every bite. Would highly recommend to try this place if you're looking for a quick lunch or dinner.

We also got the Hokkaido Milk Tea and a Hot salty milk tea. We also got 3 lamb skewers! The rice of the plates was savory and salty and paired well with the lamb. The carrot side dish was very delicious. == SERVICE == We order through the QR code at the table. Staff are very quick to bring utensils and water to the table. Food came out pretty quickly as well. == AMBIANCE == Quite a small store, seats around 26/28 people. There is indoor and outdoor seating.
