If there were a restaurant that I could and would eat at everyday a Mongolian grill would be it…read more Fresh ingredients in a sauce made my me and cooked right in front of me. Hot and fresh ingredients the quality that I choose and best of all, if I want more all I have to do is get up, get a fresh plate and cook up more. The only bummer is that I can't box up my left overs and take it home. The service, well, I have no complaints. She was attentive and friendly while we were eating, BUT I did have to go find her when it was time to go. And the ambiance, it wasn't anything special. Just suitable for any size group, like me and my daughter. Or the family group of 10+ just across the room. Everyone had plenty of room. All was good and well, so here's my beef... Cleanliness!! We were escorted to a not so clean table that the hostess brushed food off the table then laid down own menus. But that wasn't the worse of it. These was noodles in the cracks of the seat. And not just one or two. Kind of creeped me out. Love the food but cleanliness matters...or I may not be back.

First, it says Kin's on the outside. Maybe it's changed recently? Let's get straight to it. Let's…read moreget the negatives out of the way. The price. It's a little expensive, even for a weekend. You would expect more and better choices for the prices we paid. About $80 for two adults and a midget. They had your typical fare. The least favs-ribs(tough/dry and no flavor), steak(tough and under seasoned), steam buns(the filling just no), bourbon chicken(dry chicken and not enough sauce), and the consensus least fav were all the desserts. There was flying bugs, and everything was super dry and tasted old. I get it, what do expect for a Chinese buffet in San Antonio? Well I expect no flying insects in the desserts for the price I paid. Also, 75 % of the fruit we got was as tough as the steak. Oh, and the cold shrimp, either overcooked or thawed the wrong way. The shell was practically glued on. The positives-all the rice and noodle dishes were good to ok. The hot and sour soup was really good! The teriyaki chicken was actually good. The bigger sauced rib was good. The kimchi was some of the better we've had recently. The spring rolls with peanut were good. The two fish dishes we had(fried and not fried) were actually quite nice. All the breads were good. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Almost forgot, the bathrooms were kinda gross. They need to be kept clean. Will not come back again.

I love coming here for the crawfish :) you can definitely get your money's worth from just that…read morealone. The buffet options are good, but their general tso's chicken is not the best (and I judge how good overall Chinese buffets on this lol). A surprise hit is the sautéed green beans, which are perfectly cooked and garlicky--just like how you'd find it traditionally cooked in Chinese cuisine. I also think they're deep fried (salt and pepper?) shrimp (next to the crawfish) is very delicious. Plates are cleared pretty quickly and the buffet space is kept orderly and decently clean.

It was a jungle style curry (no coconut milk) and was definitely one of the best jungle style curries I have had. It had a very interesting and complex flavor. It was a bit pricey and the waitresses forgot we asked for vegetables and not just tofu but it was really delicious. We also got the sticky rice with taro wrapped in banana leaf dessert: Sticky rice soaked in coconut milk and sugar with taro wrapped in banana leaves, then steamed. It was so really delicious. The restaurant is located right near the excellent McNay Art Museum- fun outing together. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!
