Ok, I've got to tell you that last Tuesday I had lunch with a friend at Genevieves and it was fabulous. I saw Genevieve (who was happy to stop to talk to us) we had crostini and finished with baby beet citrus salad. Yum. And yum. The crostini was made with wild mushrooms, whipped roasted garlic ricotta, fresh thyme & truffle oil. Baby beets, ruby red grapefruit and mezze greens from blue moon acres with feta cheese & incredible marcona almonds. I love that genevieve is so passionate about partnering with local companies. It takes an hour for us to get to Genevieve's and it's worth every mile! A must visit!!!! Can't wait to see the new menu they told us about. read more

Well if Saint Genevieve ever needed to have a meal she would do well to sit at her namesake kitchen. Geneviève, yes there is actually a Geneviève and she is the chef and she is just brilliant in her menu selection, ambience, demeanor, she came over to our table to welcome us, and most importantly her food is indeed from the heavens thank you for a lovely afternoon she changes her menu monthly according to her very smart approach to source locally. One of my favorite restaurants in Doylestown. Overall, not too pricy. Is a byo (which I love). While the menu is limited, the food is delicious. It's a farm to table concept with locally sourced ingredients which I like. If you have a small party ask for the window seat up front. read more

The main reason I deducted stars from the review was due to the awful attitude from the inhabitants of Doylestown. I have never encountered such judgmental and arrogant set of people. I probably will never come to this sorry excuse for a downtown- go to Newtown or New Hope: better people and better vibe. I went here for brunch with a few friends. The food was fantastic. The service was warm and genuine. We also loved that it is a BYOB. But what ruined it for us were groups of people who arrived after us and were more concerned with our good time and judging it. I'm sorry- just because you live in Doylestown doesn't mean walking into brunch looking like a slob in yoga pants is acceptable. I have had continual bad experiences in Doylestown where these residents seem to think they are the creme de la creme, ummm no you are not. If we didn't have such a sour experience due to the patrons, I probably would give this place close to five stars. read more

We made late reservations on a Friday night and the staff were wonderful about accommodating us. I ordered the calamari to start and unfortunately it was a bit greasy for me. Thankfully, my main meal, stuff duck breast, was amazing over risotto freekah. Great meal and ambiance. I would love to try out their seasonal menu in the near future. read more

This was my first time dining here. I had reserved patio dining not knowing what the setting was. To my surprise I was very delighted; it was very quaint and charming out back. The menu was on one page but had plenty of options for me decide on. I chose for main course the spicy pork which was so tender. This came with mashed potatoes and asparagus but since I am allergic to asparagus, they substituted with broccolinni. I was very pleased with my dish. The servers and the chefs were very nice. I would definitely go back. Also it's a BYO so this is a huge plus! One of the chef said that they have great brunch, so I would definitely check that out. read more

Limited premium menu but sadly kitchen doesn't pull it off. Bison bolognese craggy texture. Acidic red wine in bolognese overpowering. Crab soup appetizer had just crab flavor, no crab. Pork shank with simply unseasoned and actually over braised. No texture falls apart. Middle eastern seasoning somehow not put together right, flavorless. One appetizer was worth the $, a pound of mushrooms on huge slice of brioche with an egg in the pocket. Pass. read more

I'm not sure how to describe Genevieve's... a casual atmosphere with a menu / prices approaching fine dining. For starters, we tried the shrimp bisque and watermelon salad. Nice portions but the bisque contained three small shrimp (should it have more or none?) and the salad was lettuce on top of watermelon slices. Both good but not special. For entrees, we ordered the seared duck breast. The portions were small and flavor was good, again not special. Dessert was better ... a delicious lemoncello cake. Service was very good but we were surprised that none of the staff were wearing masks in this pandemic, making us uncomfortable. (We almost walked out after being seated.) My husband and I came here for lunch while we were in Doylestown for the afternoon -- we were drawn in by the menu options and the lovely orange awning outside. The entry is a bit funny (the front door leads into what's essentially an apartment lobby, and the entry to the restaurant is the door at the back) but the inside of the restaurant is lovely and very inviting. We were seated right away and opted to sit on the patio outside. It's very cozy and quiet, which we loved. Just a note that there are only two tables fully under a roof/in the shade. Our table had an umbrella, but you'll still feel the sun on you depending on the angle -- just something to consider! Everyone we interacted with was so friendly, and service was quick. It was still brunch time, but we both got lunch: I ordered the lobster grilled cheese (comes with a side salad) and a sparkling lemonade, while the husband got the burger and fries with a sparking ginger drink. My grilled cheese was great: jam-packed with lobster meat and several different kinds of cheeses. It was very rich and yummy. I will say that I didn't love the inclusion of the spinach in the sandwich as the texture didn't quite fit with the rest of the sandwich, but it was still so good. Unfortunately, the husband wasn't as impressed with his burger -- he asked for it medium and it was still quite rare when he got it. He also said the bottom bun was very thick but also crumbly, like it was stale. It almost looked like cornbread? Despite his disappointment with the meal, he did love his ginger drink, which I tried and also liked. Overall, this was a great pick for a quick lunch right in the heart of Doylestown. What a lovely, cozy, quaint, adorable storefront BYOB I found to broaden my Doylestown restaurant experience. Damn I wish this place was in my neighborhood. Other than the noise level from only 5 other older people sitting next to us, who had no regard nor respect toward fellow diners with their voices getting louder and louder to attempt to speak over one another, the atmosphere, the room (the front room) was charming. The new fall menu was presented to us from our excellent, knowledgeable server and from the special butternut squash soup (savory, not sweet nor nutmeg-y, just the way I like it), the farro salad with the burrata (melt in your mouth) cheese, then the lamb shank (tender, flavorful, fall off the bone) over creamy polenta, and the rosemary lemon stuffed branzino (light and fresh) over mashed potatoes, everything was wonderful and my palate was impressed. Phenomenal! Homemade pasta, need I say more?My wife and I went to Genevieve's for the first time and we were blown away. We ordered the goat cheese stuffed meatball and arugula salad to start. Best meatball I've ever had. All meatballs should be stuffed with goat cheese! For dinner we had halibut over pumpkin marscapone ravioli. What!? Out of bounds! (Sorry to get all Guy Fieri on you) Also, the most perfect braised beef short ribs over fresh ribbon pasta. Mmmmmmmm. Our plan was to try a different Doylestown restaurant every month. Now, we are just going to try different thing off of Genevieve's menu every month. The restaurant is quaint and inviting. Make a reservation and ask to sit by the window. Enjoy! read more

Need to work out the growing pains. This restaurant has a lot of potential but needs some work: speed of service, kids menu or knowledgable servers on portions for kids, a distinct entryway to know where to come in. I hope they will make changes and we can try again. read more

I'm newer to the Doylestown area and was told to visit Genevieve's as it is a great local BYOB restaurant. So I made a reservation for seven for our ladies night this past weekend. We came in two groups as one group was coming from an event. The waitress sat the four of us as we waited for the rest to show up and that was the last we saw of her for awhile. Our friends were running late and apparently it their policy not to even wait on customers until the entire group shows up. I even stopped her as she walked past several times without acknowledging us and asked if we could just order some apps for the table to have them ready for when the rest of the group arrived? "No, you have to order your apps and dinner at the same time." Did I mention that we also had to get our own ice bucket for wine, request some ice and water? So when our group arrived (yes, I know they were late and that's on us) she finally came over and couldn't seem more annoyed with us. We ordered mostly appetizers to share and a couple a meals which through completely off and came with an eye roll. Finally when it all came out, she forgot one of the apps and tried to charge us for it. The food was just okay and frankly overpriced for the quality. When came time to pay (Note) they only take 2 credit cards, we gave specific instructions on how much to put on each card. She reversed them and charged too much on they wrong cards. If your policy is to only take two credit cards you better charge the correct amount on the correct card. Then as we were finally leaving the restaurant the chef came out, I said thank you to him as I walked out and he asked if we enjoyed ourselves and I said we did. Then...yeah, it certainly sounded like you enjoyed yourselves...in that snarky annoyed way. Needless to say, none of us will be returning to eat. read more

Our experience was not as expected-- An overly dressed Kale Salad, and this is after my wife specifically asked for very light dressing upon ordering. Also, I ordered an iced tea which came in a small rocks glass. When I asked for a refill, my waiter told me there would be a charge. Ridiculous. Won't be going back for awhile. We took my mother here for brunch for her birthday yesterday. The setting was so charming- in an old home. First we ordered an appetizer of the Crostini with smoked salmon and trout pate- it was really delicious. For the main entree, I had a kale salad with a poached egg on top. My sister had the fritata and my mother had the avocado toast with scrambled eggs. All of the food was delicious and very fresh. When I called to make the reservation, I told them it was my mothers bday. At the end of our lunch, Genevieve came out to great us to and to offer my mom some dessert. I thought it was such a nice touch. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I really like the concept. The menus is interesting. Funky home decor works for the area . Mostly stay at home moms trying to pretend they are eating healthy. At least that's the crowd I've seen at lunch. The service is professional. But the food. First they were out of many menu items. From beginning to end, the meal was wonderful. Everything was fresh, presentation was beautiful and the atmosphere was perfection. My husband and I sat outside and thought it was very romantic. The twinkling lights and delicious food made for a perfect evening. We started with the steamed clams and spring salad. The portions were just right. I had the spring orecchiette with peas and my husband had the branzino. We were very happy with our entrees. They were fresh and full of flavor. We ended the evening with cheesecake and the strawberry crisp with ice cream. Sitting outside on a warm night, it was the perfect ending to a delicious meal. Unexpectedly stopped into this cute little restaurant for brunch a few weeks ago. Our food was amazing!! I ordered the Lox Toast and my husband ordered the Duck confit sandwich with truffle fries - so good! The atmosphere was charming and the service was great! I loved the chef came out to ask how everything was - such a personal touch! We had been here once before when they opened a few years ago and they have not lost their touch!
