Lovely ambiance, helpful staff and some of the better food I've had in downtown Doylestown. I had the orchiette (they call it ears or something) and added prosciutto. It was great. Husband had the burger and father had the pasta w clam sauce (it's massive). Mine was the favorite of the table. Interesting menu. Delicious food! Cute ambiance. Service, especially bus staff is great. Yes, I was there with two friends on a Saturday night, but to be told, "the 7pm reservation is here...we allow two hours at a table," with a bill just under $200, come on! Not a way to ingratiate, yet still left a 20% tip! Maybe less rude on a weeknight. Not sure if I will go again even though food was fab. Service is so integral to the dining experience. The food was outstanding. The crab and corn chowder was delicious. I had the grouper and my wife had the gnocchi. Both were very good. The only reason there is only 3 stars instead of 5 was the poor service. We were definitely treated as an "after thought". We were never offered drinks before taking our dinner order. It took almost 20 minutes to get the wonderful bowl of chowder. A waiter not assigned to us asked if we received our appetizer yet and he brought it when I said "no". We were never offered coffee or dessert after dinner. The food was great but the service negatively impacted the experience. read more

Located in an old house, with its cute mix-matched decor, Genevieve's Kitchen's eclectic decor provides the restaurant with a homey feel. It's a smallish place, though it does have outside seating off the street and away from the traffic, perfect for around this time. The food is clean - you can tell they use fresh ingredients - when you're done with your meal, you'll feel full, but not heavy and disgusting. Also, be aware they don't have a liquor license, but they do allow for BYOB, so don't forget to bring a nice bottle of wine with you to enjoy your meal! I got myself the butcher board of meats and buratta for an appetizer and the pasta with duck & pork sausage so it was nice to have wine to go down with it. read more

Cute little restaurant but we found the service sloppy. Asked for toast with our breakfast and it never got to our table. Asked for salt and pepper and it was delivered empty. The server never came back and asked "how is everything". The omelet de jour had hardly any of the advertised ingredients. We will admit.....the coffee was good. read more

So disappointed with the quality of the food. I ordered Portobello mushroom sandwich, It was awe-full and disgusting, they didn't even stick to the description that is on the menu, they substitute the avocado with a slimy sour old guacamole that went bad. Basically you pay $15 for a thin sliver of mushroom, onion and slimy sour guacamole, when i asked where the avocado, they showed me the cold shoulder and didn't even bother, to make it right. They don't care for the customer, they care what is good for their pocket. Bad experience wouldn't go again. read more

I ordered a Rib Eye and it was a literally a plain and tasteless piece of meat; absolutely nothing to kick it up like a spice, dry rub or a sauce. I knew going in it was not dry or wet aged. Had an overall OK experience here. The service was good, ambiance was great, it's a very cozy home-y feel. Almost like you're having dinner at a table in your living room. Food was lackluster. The grilled kale salad was good, but not grilled. We had an appetizer special of polenta balls filled with cheese and the inside was a slightly cold. I had the past fra diablo which was not spicy at all and had broccoli rabe that was so bitter it made the dish almost inedible. My husband and I just left. We went to this restaurant for our 15 year wedding anniversary. Food was great, very flavorful. We were however dissatisfied with how rapid fire the food came out. I have never been to a restaurant where three bites into my appetizer, the main entree came out. I realize we had an 8:30 reservation, but don't accept my reservation if you plan on having me dine, eat 2 courses, and not even have the opportunity to finish my wine in an hour. I'm leaving with half a bottle of wine, not wanting to eat desert and feeling rushed. I took it out on the waitress, which I feel bad about, by not leaving over 20%, which is what we usually leave. Bottom line, don't dine here later in the evening. But do go EARLY for the food because it is rather good. read more

The food here is wonderful. My wife and I have always enjoyed our experience dining at Genevieve's. My only compliant would be that they seriously need to relook at their gift card policy. While attempting to use a Genevieve's gift card to pay for our meal on Valentines Day we were told they could not except it due to it being a holiday. Considering that there is no mention of this policy on the card and that they obviously received full payment for the card at the time of the purchase there doesn't seem to be any logical reason to have what I would consider petty policy. read more

I just had the BATA, which is a BLT with avocado and a fried egg. It was amazing and if I classify it as an egg sandwich, it was the best egg sandwich I ever had. This restaurant is one of many in a very neat, charming town. The atmosphere is very cozy as it's located in an old house that has been transformed into a restaurant. The food was delicious. I got a beef tenderloin sandwich and the wife got the Eggplant appetizer with a bowl of minestrone soup for her meal. The food was fantastic. My sandwich felt like I was eating a gourmet cheesesteak and the soup and eggplant were also great. The restaurant is definitely a local gem. The only downside to the experience was that the food took a little long to come out. It came out just at the point where we started to notice how long we had been waiting. The restaurant is BYOB which we didn't realize before coming. If we had been able to have drinks while we were waiting we probably wouldn't have even noticed the food taking a little while to come out. Even with that I still give it 5*. read more

Ordinarily I wouldn't leave a review of a restaurant I hadn't eaten at, but wasn't given the opportunity to do so by a clueless hostess. Walked half a mile to this restaurant based on the reviews and upon entering the hostess tried to see myself and my date in a 4 ft. square space backed up against the door while having at least 8 to 10 other larger more useable tables open. When I asked if she could sit us somewhere else she tried to put us in an equally tight space. I am claustrophobic and requested a couple of times for more open table and was denied being told we're a very small restaurant even though the tables open were two tops. It was at 1 o'clock on a Tuesday afternoon so I can't imagine she was expecting a lunch rush. I will never visit this restaurant again and the hostess needs to be trained on how to properly handle customers that spend their time to come to the restaurant. read more

Love this place. Quaint little restaurant BYO. Everything is seasonal and fresh and delicious. Went here in the summer with my girlfriends they set us up by this beautiful little fireplace and private area. They were very accommodating. Doylestown needed this. Perfect little, chief owned, restaurant with real, clean food that is to die for. The items on the menu are amazing but the specials are even better. BYOB with ample seating outside which was amazing for the night that we went. Love the location and I can't rave more about the food. Lots of variety to the menu with seafood and chicken and red meats as well but the main focus to everything is the cleanliness of the foods they serve. We had a small issue with the sturdiness of our table and the chief herself was on her knees fixing it for us and then came out again at the end of our meal to check in with us. Two apps, two entrees and a dessert was $95 and was worth every penny. 10/10 would suggest to anyone. Love. Love. Love Genevieve's! read more

I flew in from Chicago to meet my best friend and his girlfriend. He had read a great deal about this spot. Once we got to the restaurant, I was second guessing what the hype for this place was. The staff was nothing to write home about, below average customer service. Out of the three entrees that were ordered, beef short-rib was ok, beef tenderloin was cooked incorrectly more medium rare than medium well and the Parpaelle Pasta dish was being served with spaghetti. (The attitude on this entree was hilarious, waitress got very defensive.) All the specials were done with by 8pm. This place is a BYOB, which great. But on the flip side if you're in the mood for a coke, you might as well pick one up at McDonalds on the way here cause they don't offer any drinks besides sparkling water and lemonade. Then I pay the bill, she comes back to tell me she charged me twice. This is not a place that is "welcoming" or creating culinary enchantment. read more

I have visited 4 times now to this new place since being transferred to the main county courthouse. I have done lunch every time. The service I received has been great, the servers are friendly, welcoming, and seem to know the menu. I have seen them during slow times and busy times. During the busy times I was thinking they need a helper. The first visit it took awhile for my food to come but they say it is made to order so that could explain it. Every dish I had was great even dishes with stuff I don't like. The Winter chicken sandwich was really something special as well as the B burger. The handmade patty was cooked right. There is a salad which I believe was called charred romaine that is great for a quick lunch. I was surprised how many customers were trying to substitute items in the menu I don't get that order what it is. They have three different ways they offer water no soda but yesterday I asked the server about the sparkling juice they have on the menu so I will try next time. I just saw the review about kids menu there is none but not ever place is for kids. read more

Had lunch with a friend. We asked for a table near window and told no problem. BUT when waitress came to take order she informed us we were sitting at a 3 person table and they NEVER allow 2 people to sit there. She would let us stay, but next time that will NOT be allowed. We shared four courses all of which were outstanding: fried oyster special with remoulade sauce, watermelon and burrata salad drizzled with balsamic vinegar, the lamb ragout over paparadelle and the strip steak. Thank you Genivieve! Our dinner was excellent! We started with the jumbo lump crap appetizer. The toast was perfect. There was a ton of jumbo lump crab, and it was so flavorful! I had the frutti di mare and the sausage was such a great, spicy touch! Hubby had the fish special. How did you get those tomatoes so sweet and the polenta so creamy?!?!! I could have eaten a bowl of that as entree. For dessert we had the cannoli - fresh filled (we checked). Don't shy away from the balsamic...its rich! Only wish - add mini chips. We will return- WOW! Was very disappointed with brunch the other day. First, the menu selection is so small it was difficult to even make a selection..and they are not willing to "make substitutions"! The room we were seated in had horrendous lighting, terrible music, and had to continually listen to the sound of the radiator. And to top it off, the meal I was served wouldn't even be something I would serve to my dog. It was absolutely disgusting!
