We have dined here twice - brunch and lunch. Great potential but some kinks to work out. At our first meal, they were out of about 3-4 items on the menu and as the menu is small to begin with, we were left with very limited choices. Second meal was better with good service and very good quality food including a great veggie burger and a delicious quesadilla (good for sharing). Coffee is perfect and desserts were yummy - we tried a few and favorite was a lemon polenta cake. We will try it next time for dinner. read more

Got to try this place finally. I have been a fan of Genevieve's to-go place that's been in the borough for some time. My parents and I went to eat here when they were in town. Got the prawns and a micro greens salad - really yummy. My dad loved his too - got a bone-in pork chop. My mom wasn't such a fan of her chicken dish, but the restaurant was really gracious about it, and that was helpful. We shared the flourless chocolate torte, and it was DELICIOUS. We had reservations and they gave us a nice seat right by the window in the front. Overall, a good experience, great food, and I'm still a fan! read more

Genevieves is my favorite place to eat in Doylestown. The menu always changes, the service is always spot on, and it's lovely and quaint. I was just there for brunch and the asparagus dip is heavenly. I've done romantic date nights and a group for girls nights, it's always fabulous. My three girlfriends and I were recently celebrating two of our birthdays and were looking forward to having a fabulous dinner. Five minutes into our evening one of the owners (the restaurant's name) proceeded to glare at us through the chef's window and talk nasty about us to one of our two young servers, who by the way were lovely. It made our dining experience very uncomfortable as we ate with her staring at our table and talking under her breath just loud enough for two of us to hear her. We were opening our second bottle of wine (between 4 of us) and planning to continue our celebration after eating our dessert by talking and reminiscing about our dear girlfriend who couldn't be there with us as in years past because she had died of cancer a few weeks prior. When at that moment this same owner proceeded to storm out of the kitchen and yelled, "Stop! Don't open that bottle of wine!" We were appalled. She was so loud and obnoxious and told us that they needed that table even though there were plenty of other tables open to seat customers (1 hour before closing on a Thursday night). She raised her voice, lied about telling us that they needed the table when our reservation was made, then argued with my girlfriend in a loud embarrassing voice and then stormed off again. Needless to say none of us will be back there! There are plenty of fabulous restaurants in Doylestown to not have to take this abuse. If you do decide to go there I would suggest sitting far away from the kitchen's window and try to stay out of the line of this owner's sharp glare. read more

Well I would just like to take a moment to take Genievieve's Kitchen off their high horse. Despite the reviews are quite good for this restaurant and clearly the pretentious staff thinks it's the best place ever, I would just like to take a moment to share my experience. This restaurant is 100 percent NOT family friendly. Always shoved in the back when we bring the baby and dirty looks are given regarding our carriage. FYI the back of the restaurant looks like a 1955 restroom. You would think it was the restroom but the door to the restroom is behind you where you sit and eat. The food all tastes the same. Burnt oily garlic anyone? The drink selection to be frank stinks. What restaurant in 2017 doesn't serve Diet Coke or anything else besides water and watered down tea? Anyone? Genievieve's is the only one. The wait staff is rude and knows ZERO about the menu. When asked how the salmon was prepared the waitress replied "I don't know what you mean". That's funny bc it was a pretty coherent sentence to me. Okay some of the food is good if you like ricotta, garlic and salt. If you're looking for something else to eat then you probably should pick another restaurant. read more

Had the Southern Benedict for brunch today. It is amazing what a chef that pays attention to EVERY detail can concoct around otherwise pedestrian fare. We paid a visit to Genevieve's Kitchen in the summer. The food and service was great for the dinner seating while the restaurant decor proved to be lackluster. It was rather uncomfortable without any central air conditioning. In addition, the tables were small and not overly accommodating. You may want to consider dining here during the fall and winter months. read more

Let me start by saying this is the best hidden gem in Doylestown that I have come across! Met a friend here for lunch and what sold me right away was that it was BYOB! Done deal! But then....the food! So delicious and fresh. We had started with some poltenta balls that were accompanied with a pesto sauce that was by far the best pesto I have had in a long while! You could taste the nice little hints of garlic and the basil was clearly fresh! I had a sausage pasta that was amazing. I could do with a little less of the Olive oil but that's just me being picky. Try and come on a nice day....we were able to sit outside on the cute little patio which made lunch ten times better! I wanted to give it 5 stars but I was not impressed by the service. When we were first seated we were given a rather small table considering we had a cooler for the wine we brought so we had taken it upon ourselves to move to a bigger table. This isn't someone I do on the usual but our waitress was nowhere to be found and there was only one other group sitting outside....plus it was a Thursday afternoon! When our waitress did return she scolded us....stating you guys can sit there but if it were busy I wouldn't have let you guys move. Well duh, we wouldn't have moved either. Not the friendliest person but it didn't ruin our lunch. Can't wait to return to this place! read more

I went here for dinner recently with friends. This was a first time experience and I had heard great things about the food. We ate outside on the patio and the ambiance was cute. The table, however, was somewhat small/cramped for four people. The food arrived and my first thought was "Wow, I'm going to be hungry after this meal." I had the scallops. I cut into the first scallop and it was completely translucent inside (so was the next). My friend's scallops were too. We waited for our server and then had to walk our meals back to the kitchen. About 10 mins later our food came back out. Our friends were practically done their meals at this point. At first bite, I noticed the scallops had no flavor. The polenta and cucumber salad had even less flavor. My friend agreed. A totally tasteless, pricey, small-portioned meal. We skipped dessert after the entree experience. I came in excited and left incredibly disappointed. Hands down one of my worst meals in a good 10 years. I understand they are under new ownership. It's too bad because the restaurant had great reviews with the previous owner. Two stars since the patio was cute. read more

My boyfriend made 7:30pm reservations here for our 1 year anniversary. We planned on going to County Theater before but due to me we were late for the movie. We decided to see if we could move up our reservation to 5pm. The hostess was very pleasant and was able to accomodate us which was awesome vs, trying to figure out what to do in Doylestown for 3hrs. Our waitress was fantastic, very sweet and knowledgable. We started off with the Calamari which was served with a great marinara sauce that had just the right amount of spice to it. I ordered the lasagne which was hands down the best i've ever had. My boyfriend order the fish special which he enjoyed but he wasn't a big fan of the sauce. For dessert i had the apple strussel and he had the chocolate cake and they were both amazing. The only reason this place doesn't get a 5 star is because it was very very small. We were sat at the front by the window to the kitchen and the tables are extremely close together. To be honest if we would have been there when it was busy i would've have left since for our anniversary i would want an intimate/romantic dinner. It worked out since we were there when it was slow. i'd definitely return since the food and the service was great but I would not recommend this place for the atmosphere if you are looking for something intimate/romantic. Another bonus of this place is that it is BYOB so the check was less than expected which is always nice. :) read more

We just returned from my Father's Day Dinner. It was one of the three worst meals I have ever eaten in my entire life. I specifically request that we go there this evening as we had dined there in March of 2017 and felt it was the best restaurants we had been to in years. Tonight however it was an entirely different experience. My fiancé ordered the lobster tail stuffed with crab meat. The lobster was so over cooked that she needed a knife to work her way through it. The lobster was so dry she had to request butter so she could choke it down. I ordered the Frenched Chicken. Awful doesn't even begin to describe it. A Frenched chicken breast was presented in a cast iron pan. The chicken was tough and was drenched in a dreadful watery, hot spicy sauce. Essentially hot sauce, and water served over tough broccoli rabe. The after taste was so bad we needed to go out for ice cream to get the taste washed away. I had also ordered the shrimp appetizer. It was supposed to be served in a sriracha with honey/garlic sauce. Again the sauce was a watery mix of hot sauce and water. Not a hint of the honey or garlic which would of offset the heat of the sriracha. The couple next to us ordered the same meals. The look on their faces were identical to ours. They were also gravely disappointed. The server was oblivious, she repeated the same lines over and over again while taking our order. She never refilled the water at the table. She never even pored the initial glasses of sparking water. She would constantly reach her arms over or food while either bringing an additional course or refilling the bread basket. We had to request a refill on the bread so we wouldn't have left hungry. For the pleasure of ruining my Father's Day dinner the check came to approximately $87.00. We also drove an hour each way to eat this slop. Three months ago I would have given them five stars; I guess things change quickly. I will never dine there again. Jeff S. read more

It's crazy I haven't reviewed this place yet; I must have thought I had shared all my great feelings about this place! It is, hands down, the best restaurant in Doylestown. Any time we want to go for a nice meal, this is the only place I think of. I do wish they were open for Sunday dinner b/c it's so often when I want to go, but I know the chef is very hands on and needs a day off! I will always recommend ordering a pasta dish, because the homemade pasta is perfection. But neither I nor anyone I've brought with me (lots of people!) has had anything that wasn't great. The service was good ,meal was made with fresh ingredients and salad was the best part.We went for lunch and ordered the "special"-a grilled cheese with fires.The sandwich was OK-a bit greasy for my taste but my husband didn't mind it.The fries were disappointing -let;s leave it at that. For the prices, we expected better .The pros are as mentioned above and the response of the owner when I questioned the types cheeses on the sandwich.She left the kitchen and came to speak directly to us.Her explanation was was helpful..Should we end up in the area again we would give it one more try and opt for the salads over the sandwiches. read more

I had the pesce scrambled & it was delicious! I rarely take pics of my food, but I had to because not only was it super tasty but plated very beautifully. The staff, our waitress especially was really friendly.. I forget her name but she was blonde & easy to talk to. The atmosphere was clean, simple but modern, & they have an outdoor patio that you can bring your dog to in the summer We went for brunch & lucked out.. they recommend reservations, and as we were leaving we could see why. The best part of a long week! Traveling through PA after spending a few days with my hipster nephew in Brooklyn it was great to enjoy another meal here. This was my second visit having been here a couple of years earlier. They haven't lost their touch. My meal was fantastic! I had the pork chops and my daughter had the scallops. It was eggs and Italian sausage on polenta cakes...An odd combination but it was truly delicious. I had the open faced omelette...perfect combo of vegetables and goat cheese.
