Was told that "he got sidetracked and forgot", I said "no problem". He said "ill call you back in a few minutes and figure it out for you and call you back". I needed a rear differential for my V8 van. Previously I had been getting an unbelievable 18-22 mpg. Not knowing exactly what to look for, I asked several times if the part they had would give me the same mileage. I was told that the gear ratio was the same and I'd get the same mileage. After I bought it on good faith my mechanic told me it was a different ratio, but I had already bought this one and sold my core. I had to move forward. Right away it went down to 11 mpg. So I have been afraid to drive it with gas fluctuating between 2-something and $4. Their carelessness halved my mileage, and made it so I don't even want to drive the vehicle any more. I am reluctant to sell it because any buyer will be expecting 18 miles per gallon. Who is going to buy it when I tell them it gets 11 mpg now?
