Great local restaurant. Breakfast sandwiches are delicious!! I've never dined inside but I appreciate they offer take out.

The 3 stars is because the food was absolutely excellent, piping hot and fresh, and a nice large portion size, but the service was poor for the most part. I recommend the veggie omelette seeing as they load it with tons of veggies and huge pieces of broccoli. I got rye toast and the potatoes were delicious. I asked for flavored iced coffee with a mixture of vanilla and hazelnut and it only tasted like vanilla so she definitely forgot the hazelnut but I was charged for it nonetheless. No one ever came to check on us after the meal arrived at all. We even finished and still no one came and the empty plates just sat there for what seemed like forever. Everyone else got better attention than us. Finally the check is brought over and let's just say we won't be back. read more

The people and food are magic! You need to get to the homemade pumpkin, cranberry walnut pancakes all expertly cooked. Great service

Went here because it was the only place near Inskip for breakfast. This place was packed when I walked. I waited couple of minutes for someone to seat me but no one came over. So I sat myself at the bar. My waitress was friendly but did notice one waitress at another table in a bad mood. Ordered the veggie omelet, which was pretty good. read more

So this is my third review. Hopefully this one will not be filtered. This is an unsuspecting experience. First off it is in a strip mall and positioned so that you might miss it. Once you go in you will notice a bar in the back, a kino machine and big open spaced hard top tables. So at this point you would expect typical diner food. But a quick glance to the specials board, or even inside the menu you will notice that they are a little more. They do have the typical stuff, but then they have the little nuggets with a French influence. I suspect that there is a chef in the back that was just looking to take it down a notch. Anyway, they have great crepes, wonderful French toast, great hash and if you are there in the afternoon, great hot wieners. The price tag is a lot less than you would expect. Oh, did I mention that the service is always good and consistent? read more

The first time I came to Gel's I was not impressed. The waitress completely got my order wrong which wouldn't have bothered me because I am not a picky eater but what she brought me was not good. I went a second time and it was a bit better, I enjoyed my food a bit more but everything just took forever, from getting our food to paying the bill. I would probably come again, because after receiving the right order, the food was pretty good. There are definitely better breakfast places that are close by that i would chose over Gel's read more

Amazing breakfast spot everyone is very friendly and attentive and the food is wonderful. The only problem is the place is very small and you will likely have to wait to sit down but don't let that deter you the food is worth the wait. read more

Love Gel's Kitchen. Cute and local small town diner in West Warwick. I always order the eggs, toast, and has brown special.

Good food, great prices, even better service. Everyone is so friendly. I would recommend the corned beef hash, it's not from a can and they've made it perfect each time I've been here. My daughters love the mickey Mouse pancakes with a side of fruit. I usually get the platter which is a large amount of food and very inexpensive. They even had Santa here around the holidays to sit with kids. There is keno for you gamblers out there, too! read more

The service was prompt and friendly. I recommend the Papa's Poached. Eggs on corn bread is tasty. The potatoes have a good color and a good texture. The bacon and egg dish was overflowing the plate. . read more

12/27/2013 Update: The owner contacted me and we spoke about my experience, the owner was courteous, professional and very concerned with my experience at there restaurant. I am very impressed with the communication I received after I posted this. I will be giving the restaurant another try in the foreseeable future and will post what my experience was and will give the review of what I perceive and adjust the review accordingly. I went to this place the first time the food took 30 mins to get out and was not warm and the place was not even busy. The waitstaff was waiting on other people and other people that came in 10 mins after we ordered were getting there food first. I decided to give them another try and it was worse the second time around. I had my 3 kids with me both times and there food was cold as well.. Horrible service they were wicked rude and food was horrible as well. I will go to Dunkin Donuts before I went to this place again. I do not recommend this place whatsoever.. read more

Really cute atmosphere :) I ordered the hash and cheese omelet which was really delicious. Very large portion, took me two days to eat! My boyfriend got their banana bread French toast which I thought was really unique! They have a lot of "special menu" options which I've never heard of like hot wiener omelets and apple walnut bread French toast. Excited to go back and try something new! :) read more

Got there at 10:30am. Order was taken at 10:45am but it took 45 minutes to receive 2 pretty basic breakfasts. The home fries had no taste at all. Needed alot of help. The orange juice did not taste real. Almost like a frozen can mix. Pricing is reasonable but would pay more for better quality. Also the place was not really clean. Table sticky. People there were nice but would not be going back. read more

Great food, super affordable... The menu has something for everyone! Friday she does a large seafood menu also! The pie is incredible.

Totally coming back! We went here for breakfast. It was our first time here so we wanted a spread. In one order we got 3 scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, 2 pieces of sausage, 2 pieces of toast and home fries for about $6! The other order was a 3 egg veggie omelet that was PACKED with all sorts of veggies, home fries and toast. The food was great. The price is right, the food is good, and the staff is friendly. Next time, we'll try lunch...and dessert. ;) read more

Service was attentive and food was delicious! Zucchini bread french toast?! I must have died in my sleep because that was heaven. I want the pumpkin pancakes next time. Only negative, home fries were a little burnt, but it's home fries so they were still delicious. AND OF COURSE WEINER WEDNESDAY. Rhode Island style weiners for 99 cents! read more

Gel's has a cozy atmosphere. The staff is very pleasant and attentive. I ordered a mushroom, roasted red pepper and cheese omelette. It was delicious and a generous portion. The prices are very reasonable. This will be our new favorite place to eat. read more

This place is AMAZING for breakfast! I always get the sausage and gravy over biscuits l, probably one of the best in the state. It's a family ran restaurant ran by a husband and wife. She also does amazing cakes as well! Along with some tasty homemade sweets! Definitely come in and try the banana bread french toast! read more

I have to thank a friend for telling me about this place. Gels is the spot if you want a delicious breakfast. Home made corned beef hash. Eggs Benedict. Crepes. Corn bread is so light and fluffy. Zucchini bread is delicious. Daily specials. Zucchini and banana bread available as loaves for take out. read more

I was in the area for training and found some restaurants before hand that I wanted to try. Gel's was one of them. I only had breakfast here once, but that was enough to know that Gel's was a go to place for breakfast. Food was great and the waitress was friendly. Not sure if I'll ever get back to the area, but if I do, Gel's will be one of the stops. read more

Well now, this place was a pleasant surprise! I hadn't heard about Gel's even though it opened over a year ago. My girlfriend and I went for breakfast. I ordered blueberry and banana pancakes with a fresh fruit cup, she ordered the fruit cup as well and one egg, corned beef hash, and rye toast. She also received the requisite hash browns that normally come with an egg breakfast. We both enjoyed our fruit cups. The three pancakes were large and light (not doughy like the majority of breakfast spots). Absolutely delicious. Though they don't offer pure maple syrup, the syrup that came with the meal was warm and of thinner consistency than the all too familiar wall paper paste I've practically choked on in many establishments. I normally don't like corned beef hash because what I've had a few times was over-salted and with a sour taste. But Gel's was obscenely good - overloaded with meat, not heavily salted, and with a nice mellow flavor without the sourness. Hell, I would have ordered just that for a meal! We both felt the hash browns required more seasoning. Personally, I like well-done hash browns that have a bit of a "crunch" to them. Overall we were very pleased with our experience, and the wait staff was very friendly. How about offering whole wheat pancakes? It's our new go-to place in West Warwick for breakfast. read more

have not eaten there yet- their actions with the tribute to the fallen teenagers gives them a 5 star review!!!

My favorite Sunday morning place! Delicious, fast and cheap! Just how breakfast should be :-) I recommend everything! read more

My wife & I went to Gel's today based on what we read on RI Magazine's online article "Best Breakfasts in RI". Gel's wasn't chosen, but many commenters within the article wrote that they couldn't believe that it wasn't. I'm here to say, they were right. Gel's is fantastic! I had Alvin's Hot Wiener Omelet and it was amazing. How it is that no one else ever thought of this is beyond me. My wife had the Irish Benedict and she said it was the best hash she has ever had. Breakfast was so good we ordered another Alvin's to-go. We mentioned to our waitress that we were from CT and the only bad thing was we lived over an hour away and couldn't have breakfast at Gel's every day. On our way out, one of the staff stopped us at the door to personally thank us for coming in and trying them out and wondered how we happened by. We told her our story and she thanked us again. We had great food, great service and great prices too! If you haven't tried Gel's, run - don't walk! read more

Just found this great gem! My daughter and I were looking for a breakfast place and I had passed by this one a few times. We weren't disappointed! read more

The food was good, but the service was poor. I've never felt more unwanted in a restaurant. I was never greeted, there were no smiles and they spent most of their time taking with other staff members or on their cellphones. As I was checking out I said "thanks, have a nice day!" I was met with only silence. It doesn't take much to be hospitable. Although the food was good, I will never go back to a place that made me feel unwelcome read more

Today I had the #3: 3 Farm Fresh Eggs scrambled with real cheddar, crispy bacon and sausage links with a slice of gluten free banana bread I ate the whole plate it was so tastey! My waitress Ashley and whole team were right on point! I'll be back! read more

A pleasant suprise. It wasn't too crowded. The server was very attentive. My better half had a fruit cup which was varied and adequate. The place was busy but very quiet. I had been here under the previous ownership and was hesitant to return. I'm glad I did. I ordered the breakfast platter. The waffle was fluffy and they served it with warm syrup which was a nice touch. The homefries was pretty stock but well cooked. Our coffee was plentiful and our cups didn't even make it to half empty. The prices were pretty good for a breakfast plate. The breakfast platter is two eggs, homefries, 2 bacon, and a fantastic waffle. We received our food in about ten minutes or so. No warmer plate time. Just hot and fresh. They carry both Tabasco and Red Hot sauce. Definitely a plus. read more

Gels staff by FAR are the a RUDEST people if you're calling for pick up. They get my order wrong every time (it's just a bacon egg and cheese). They're horribly organized because when I get there to pick it up they don't ask my name, make me wait standing there for 4-7 min before someone attends me, and when they do attend me it's almost as if I'm bothering them with my order. Today they charged the wrong order on my card because they assumed (not asked) that I was the "big order". They are extremely rude, have 0 customer service, and clearly hate their jobs. Besides the AWFUL bedside manners, the place itself is DIRTY. Do not go unless you're an elder because they will treat you like shit. read more

In visĺting from NJ and found this quaint little place on Yelp. Food was delicious! Try one of their homemade items. I had the Zucchini and Banna bread French Toast.. very good! I called to get take out, the lady who answered was extremely rude. Just as rude when I picked up my order. The food was okay. Attempted again as dine in customer with my brother. We sat down and the lady came right over and asked what we wanted to drinks, we both got coffee. Than we sat there listening to this woman talk about how much she does for the community and and how tired she is from everything that she does. She continued on and on and on about how great she was. Finally a young lady came over and asked how everything was, I said well the coffee we ordered was great, but that lady talking about how wonderful she is never came back to take our order. The young woman apologized to us and said that's the owner, she's a little conceited, I wonder how her crown even fits through the door in the morning. I told the young lady to just bring me the check we are all done with just the coffee. I will never go back there! It's perfectly okay to do good for people in your community, but please remember where you are when your bragging about yourself!! read more

Went here recently. I ordered a Mozzarella omelet which I immediately regretted ordering, but when my order came it was surprisingly good. My only complaint is that the home-fries were somewhat bland. All in all though my omelet was good and I would definitely go again. read more

I've only been here once so I may be updating this in the future. But everything I had was fresh and good. The waitstaff were pleasant and they had a lot of options and gladly substituted whatever you wished. The only thing I didn't like was when you get a combination platter (not sure what it's called) they pile everything on the same plate. I'm sure you can just ask for separate plates if need be. read more

Back again Gel's for dinner this time. Awesome fish and chips. Tonight they had red, white and clear chowder. My daughter had the white, really good tasting. I had the clear chowder and I it's the best I ever tasted. The owner makes her own bread pudding, apple pie(REAL apples) and chocolate pudding. She also makes her own muffins and banana bread for French toast. We will definitely be going back! read more
