We got seated at the bar and just ordered a few items off the happy hour menu. We ordered the voodoo fried rice, smoked trout dip, and we ordered 16 oysters. The fried rice was great! I love that it was a little spicy. It was a good size of split between the 2 of us. The dip was also pretty good and had a good Smokey flavor. We ordered 16 oysters ($2.50/ea) and got 8 buck & rider, 4 Hama Hama, and 4 Hollywood. They all were really good. I think I liked the buck & rider and Hollywood the most. Service was really quick as we were sitting at the bar so they were pretty attentive. The dishes came out pretty quickly after we ordered. It was a little loud in the restaurant so it was kind of hard to hear each other but that's ok because they were pretty full so that's to be expected.

The seafood was incredibly fresh, the sushi was delicious, and you absolutely have to save room for the banana cream pie with a cup of coffee -- seriously one of the best desserts we've had! Tempura Takeover did not disappoint. We ordered outside at the food truck and they brought the food into the bar. I got the sloppy lobster burger. Hubby got two bulgogi tacos and a side of fries. There were no prices on the menu, but the total without tip was $48. My lobster burger was divine--chunks of tempura lobster, perfectly, cooked. I'm not going to guess what was in either sauce but they were both excellent and made the dish. Fries were solid. Downsides, it was about a 30 minute wait, which was clearly communicated. We got there about 5 minutes after open and there was a small line. There's probably strategy to make it go faster--get there at open or 30 to 45 minutes after. Food seemed to come out fast after the initial rush. Also, i would have liked ketchup as an option for the fries.

They post their locations on https://tempuratakeover.com/ I'm not a big fan of a lot of sushi or fusion sauces so was asking about the Takeover sauce. Ahdana, the owner, clearly took pride in the sauce and offered me a sample. I was gearing up to politely say it's not for me but I actually loved it! I would buy a bottle to have at home if I could. (hint: need this in stores!) I got the shrimp taco and the bulgogi taco. The shrimp taco was my favorite! The shrimp was cooked perfectly, and there was plenty of it. The tempura had a great crunch and the sauce was just the right amount of spicy. It's definitely on my top tacos list and I'll be popping by whenever I can. I'm already craving it again!

Once again...a meal that was fantastic, fresh, and well cooked. Wife had an Amaretto Sour, which is made with Disaronno and she loves that drink, saying it's well balanced and she likes that they don't use the egg foam on top. She also ordered off the Crabby Hour menu some scallops on the half shell and some roasted brussels sprouts. This place knows how to roast spouts so that they are tender and toasted and not overdone. So yummy! The scallops are served with a light ponzu sauce drizzled over which complimented the tender scallops. Delicious! From the Restaurant Week menu, I chose the crab & Artichoke dip which we love and it isn't typically on their menu. It was so good and I had to ask for some extra toast points because there was so much dip! I also got the stripped bass, which was cooked to perfection although a smaller portion than the one you get from the regular menu. They do bass right! And for dessert, chose the Pumpkin Pot de Creme, which was my first taste of pumpkin for the season. Creamy and so good although I took off most of the whip cream because it was a lot. Overall another wonderful meal at our favorite fish restaurant!

We like to go when it's happy hour, which is actually on weekends until 5:00! Quite a nice addition, you can get $5 draft beer and $10 calamari and shrimp and chips and guac. (Ask to add the Caribbean salsa!!) That's what we start with and then we split the ribeye aguachiles which is like nothing else you've ever tried - it is spicy, so try some fish tacos if you don't like spice! Did I mention that they start you with a little cup of broth to sip on? I could live on it! The service and ambience are great, but they do like to fill up their two tops so you'll likely be snuggled up next to some other couples LOL

She reacted quickly, avoided disaster, apologized, cleaned up the mess, gave extra napkins, and comped me on my drink. Our steaks were absolutely delicious, our pasta was al dente as we like it, and our fish was perfectly flaky and moist. Compliments to the chef, except for failing to spot the platter crack at the pass. Parking is easy and plentiful. 4 dinners, 3 drinks, an appetizer, and a free birthday flan were $280 with tax and tip. Not cheap, but worth it for us. BTW, we're seeing more AI electronic wall displays, and BLU is no exception. The loop of the infinity pool and shoreline from inside a beach cabana was more relaxing than annoying - YMMV if you are an artist.

The meat quality was pretty good, esp the beef belly. I'm not a fan of the electric grills, as they would overcook the meat pretty fast, but the servers will turn it down if you ask them. We like being in control of the grill, but it's a nit picky thing. :) The only thing that was strange was that they had told us that they were short on veggies and were saving them for their main dishes aka they wouldn't give us an onion. Other than that, the servers were sweet, and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. For Arizona, this was ok. 5 stars for blasting more OG K-pop music ala Big Bang and EXO! :D

Rolls are smaller and taste like grocery store sushi rather than quality restaurant sushi. The sauces are different and used way more sparingly, the cuts of the ingredients are inconsistent. The rice tastes cheaper and the fish and fruits are unrecognizable. The Baja roll and Primo rolls use to be my favorite rolls anywhere. I ordered both and I honestly couldn't even finish the Baja roll. Cheap fish, canned fruit, almost no sauces. I'd honestly rather pay $25 a roll to have the old rolls back rather than these new versions. Sadly, I probably won't ever return unless they go back to the old level of quality for their rolls. Mina introduced herself asked about drinks and starters. Ordered Thai tea, pork belly. Mina left to allow more time for selection review. Food 5/5 Order consisted of two Thai Tea (one for the road), two Pork Belly Thai style (one to go), small vegetable soup, Pad Kee Mao Thai Hot, Vegetable yellow curry (to go). Thai Tea was nice as usual. Next visit I'll order Thai Coffee. Pork Belly Thai style is amazing here. Soft flavorful inside with a light pan fried crunch outside. Vegetable soup is delicious. The broth has the DNA of a French Onion soup which was nothing short of amazing. Unexpected. The Pad Kee Mao is my favorite here. Nice use of fresh Vegetables lightly pan fried leaving a crispy bite which contrasts beautifully with the wide rice noodles texture. The diced multi colored peppers, onions, carrot sliver flavors are present in every bite. Complex, yes! I ordered take home for lunch. Vegetable Yellow curry lunch was delicious.
