This new location will be great for Joseph and company because it's on Mission Ave. I can't believe how big the space is and how everything is all laid out. It looks like a brand new store because it's so bright and so organized not to say the last store wasn't. I'm so happy that they have a new store and hopefully soon they will be selling firearms. There is a lot of new items that weren't in the old store that they have now. They have tons of knives, t-shirts, stickers and flashlights all for a decent price. I can't wait for the firearms to come in because I know ammo will be right along with the firearms. I'm sure this place is going to be crazy busy once the guns come in and wouldn't it be great if they had a shooting range too? I explained to them my case and that I was shipping out to deployment the next day. He gave me the run around as to why I can't simply exchange something broken that they gave me for a good one. Needed some gear to turn in IIF gear and went here for eyepro and a pair of war belt suspenders, I paid in total 135.31, which seemed high but I didn't mind at the time. IIF wouldn't accept the eyepro, so I went back to exchange it possibly and I even offered another pair of eyepro as an incentive. I showed him the transaction on my bank account statement because I threw the receipt away and he acted like it wasn't real ( probably because he knows he overcharged me the first go around) anyways he finally agrees to do the swap, but then he rings me up for 38 dollars! I didn't want to pay it but I didn't have a choice and then after I paid it I asked for my incentive eye pro back and he says " you said you would give to me for the swap" and I said " that's before i thought you were going to charge me the difference" and he goes " whatever I didn't have to help you". I Bought a complete upper receiver here. When I bought it they said if anything was wrong with it I could bring it back and be fixed or exchanged, turned out to be really tweaked/bent. So I took it back, they said there was nothing at all that they can do. Very disrespectful, asking me if I was even a good shot, And on top of all this, they scratched and bent my parts even more. What surprised me the most, was that none of them knew how to assemble my handguard properly. I can keep going on how they are not a legitimate business but it's not worth my time. Only one guy looked up at me and gave me the "wazzup" head nod, then back to their conversations about "last night". Lapped the store twice, with no acknowledgment, then left. Bought on Amazon. Approximately 1 month later, I reluctantly went in again looking misc work items...only to try giving $$ to a local company and not a big one. Same crap, but this time, I got the play by play how "wasted he got last night" and the size of the "chicks tits that was a bitch". I purposely interrupted him and asked about the availability of a particular pocket knife, he stopped, looked at me and said, "if its not here, we don't have it"...and back to last night. Went to a competitors store on Oceanside's coast hwy, 3 people greeted me and I ended up spending $200 there. Look, Im not looking for hugs and candy when I roll into a store. But maybe some professional behavior and a, "can I help you". Small business will be made or broken by the personnel you hire. There is more than enough gear stores in Oceanside. Gearhound was closer and new and I wanted to give them a chance. However, I will gladly drive a few extra miles to get service and professionals assisting me in my future gear purchases. read more
