The owner, Val, and his entire crew are quality people that changed what ever preconceived thoughts you might have. There is a graceful presence among them that gives you the confidence to do business with this team. I found myself in a position that I had to trust their integrity and found I was blessed to have met them. BP Diamonds and Loans has an incredible selection of jewelry, that very much includes wedding rings to great watches. They get the highest rating from me because they made my life's situation with less stress due to the respect they gained from me in a time of need. read more

This place is a complete rip off. Do not waste your time or your gas on a place like this. They don't care about your business they care about ripping you off and then making you feel like a jerk for not accepting what they offer you. If you try to negotiate they will only kick you out. They don't even look at the items you bring in they eye ball it and tell you to fuck off. They like to think they're the best pawn shop out there but its a complete lie. Even the prices they have for their items is ridiculous. Way over priced and I have found the same items on OFFER UP for way cheaper and way newer. If you want a real pawn shop that takes care of its customers. GO TO PAWN INC. ACROSS THE STREET FROM SWAMIS IN OCEANSIDE. NOW THAT IS A PAWN SHOP. I will never recommend this place nor will I ever sell or buy anything from these scumbags. STAY AWAY IF YOU KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR YOU. AGAIN PAWN INC. GO THERE AND WATCH HOW THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE BEST PRICES FOR YOUR ITEMS. I HOPE PEOPLE START CATCHING ON SO THE CITY CAN SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN. read more

my wife went to BP in search of a Cuban link necklace as a birthday gift. Valentino and his staff took great care of her, educating her on the differences between real, solid gold and the cheaper product found with online retailers. She never felt pressured to buy and was treated with respect. I highly recommend BP to anyone looking for quality jewelry at amazing prices. read more

Edit: I may have to change this review as today I was shown the negative side of this shop. Your employees have issues bro I'm sorry one guy has been there forever until today never had issues with him but definitely did today and new guy I'm getting family vibes from so I'll leave it at that. I've have been coming here as long as I can remember old owners were cool but I consider the new owner a friend at this point. He has helped me out of some binds when I needed some extra cash and has always been more than fair. He runs a business it's not a charity he deserves to make a profit just like any other business. It breaks my heart to see these people bad mouthing him. He remembered me the 2nd time I did business with him, good luck getting the level of personable service at other pawns. If you are selling to a pawn shop you can't expect top dollar for your used items but Val has always been fair with me. If something seems priced high I bet if you let them know they may work on the price. He has employees to pay and prime real estate to pay rent for. I thank you Val keep up the good vibes and ignore the unfair reviews. Just don't make me regret this review next time I come in lol. It's Witz. By the way. read more

Be careful of this spot. They not only lie and smile in yr face to get yr business but they are so crooked and underhanded. The new owner Valentino is one smooth snake. He'll smile and hiss and slither all around you but be careful because like real snakes he can strike and bite And you will surely feel that poisonous venom course through you. It used to be such a great place when owned by Mr. Arthur. You never had to worry about anything . And the EXWIFE Is now the "Manager". Not only is she Rude and obnoxious, She acts like she is better than anyone, and we are only her peons. But on the real people, BEWARE!!! All their merchandise is overpriced!! They want more than the original manufacturer does . Hello... you are supposed to be a pawnshop where people go to find bargains!!! I went in the other day and overheard Mr Valentino berating some customer and He ended up saying something like you want a loan from me after all that. Well I ran into that poor woman who left in tears, and I asked If she wanted to talk about what happened at that pawnshop. And She didn't want anymore drama, all she wanted was her ring that her husband had given her for their anniversary and she ended up pawning when Covid hit. Not only was she informed by the "manager" that she had defaulted and lost the ring, she kept getting the run around when she was trying to extend the loan and not lose it, but the paperwork was never found but now it miraculously appeared in their system and the dates were all wrong. Even Valentino seemed confused and next thing she knew he was berating her and trying to flip it and make it seem like it was her fault. I walked in when she was trying to explain to him but it seemed like all he seem to have on his mind is making that poor woman look and feel stupid. So unprofessional talking to yr customers like that and not even having enough class to wait til there weren't any other customers around. How dare you!!! SO PEOPLE BEWARE. DON'T GIVE THAT JERK YOUR BUSINESS AND YOUR MONEY.GO UP THE STREET TO Coast jewelry and loan or GEMS AND LOAN . They know how to treat their customers with respect and common courtesy. And their merchandise is not only priced right but they like to wheel and deal. LETS SHOW THIS BUSINESS THAT US O'siders Don't need his bad business practices around here.FAMILY BUSINESS AND FAMILY OWNED? Lies!! All lies. Unless of course it counts as family when you ??!! KEEP IT REAL. And you claim to be an Army Vet? read more

Had a GREAT experience at Bargain Pawn. Val is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful & has a keen insight to his pawn business. I highly recommend this place & will go back again & again!!! read more

They have an eclectic inventory. A lot of it is dated or mid-quality and it is overpriced for a pawn shop. There were a few interesting items and the girl behind the counter was pleasant. They did not have what we were looking for but it was an enjoyable stop nonetheless. read more

I came in to pawn 2 rings that were in perfect condition never worn. Some how after they ran all these test 2 diamonds disappeared. Bargin Pawn removed 2 stones and scammed me. The guy Paul block my way so I couldn't see what they were doing. Then all of the sudden the lady says there are 2 stones missing. She removed them so I could not go to another shop. I was shocked. Never even wore them the rings beed locked away for 3 years. I have the pictures to prove what they did. I wonder if my local news will be interested in this. How many other people have they done this to. read more

Never met such a nice group of people. Paul the security person was so helpful in loading the car. Ask for Dawn when you go in she is all knowing and gives awesome deals. The more you buy the better the deal. Now Chris is a bit tough. But I got him to smile too. read more

If you want to sell or pawn vintage timepieces or loose gemstones, diamonds & valuables... DON'T come here. The staff won't even ask you for your asking price nor will they offer you anything. They will simply take a "quick look" and ask you politely to leave. Will never come here again and will definitely not recommend this store. If you want to pawn or sell your valuables, go to another shop that is actually interested in doing business. Don't waste your time and gas. read more

This shop has been a special place in Oceanside for decades and I can see why. They treat you like family. We went in to sell my dad's watches and Scott took a lot of time educating us about them. He was super friendly, patient and very knowledgeable. We really appreciate the kind service, honesty and no pressure sales. Looking forward to going back to this hidden treasure by the beach. read more

This place is a pretty big pawn shop. I've been going here for years and I always pick up something really cool when I'm there. A few years ago, I bought an array of different instruments from there: and accordion, and acoustic Bass, and a Flute. Even right now, there is a French auto-harp that I am interested in purchasing. They have a DVD section that is only $3 each, and I've picked up some pretty anime and Japanese titles throughout the years there. My last two purchases there were a $20 dollar Rice-cooker (which works great), and a $400 laptop which I am very happy with. The staff and management there is also really friendly and awesome! read more

Love this Store, Really nice new Owner, very knowledgeable and kind. Took his time explaining things to me about various stones. Will definitely go back. read more

Just adding that the owner sent me a message claiming I was confused and must be thinking of a different shop. He said this was either spam or purposeful slander and asked me to remove this review. My review is accurate to the time I was there. Also be sure to see the Jon recommended reviews below. read more

This guy doesn't even check online to give you prices for your stuff, he just throws the lowest numbers out at you in hopes that you'll either walk away upset or keep correcting him that the item is vintage while he keeps asking if it's brand new. Completely unprofessional, and outrageous prices comparable to buying out of the box. Don't waste any of your time here, they obviously don't need the business. read more

What can I say but what a nice place. Great guys behind the counter who offer up fair deals for the Merch they sale. I walked out with Bose speakers and a vintage album for a lot less than I thought. read more

Great shop and great people! Shoutouts to both Scott and Chris who know their stuff when it comes to this business!! I do mostly trades here when I come in to sell as they always have something I like and it works out for both of us...will keep on coming back! Thanks guys! read more

I love this place I bought my favorite pool cue from here very nice people and great to deal with I highly recommend this business.

I recently moved to Southern California from up north. my past experiences with pawn shops were they were complete ripoffs as a buyer and a seller. Items are overpriced, and they pay you fractions of a fair offer. This place has restored my belief in the Pawn Shop system. I buy/resell for a living so I was surprised to find good deals in this shop. I also overheard them buy some Tools for more than I would have paid. They are extremely fair. they look up prices to see the value of your item and give you a more than fair deal. They also helped me sort through a bunch of costume jewelry free of charge. Realistically this is the way a pawn shop should be ran. nothing but good things to say about this place! read more

Scott is the man! Such a warm and cool guy. He was able to help us take some of our appliances and furniture off our hands and at a reasonable price too! I love to support my small local businesses. The care and effort he had to help us was hands down the best! I can't wait to take a look at his shop to see what cool things he has. Will definitely come here if I need to get rid of anything in the future and will go to Scott! read more

Love love love this place! A few years back I sold my husbands PS4 here and I've been back many times to buy since. It may sound like an odd thing to say about a pawn shop but Scott and Chris really make you feel at home while you're there. I usually go in with an item in mind and I've been lucky to always leave with a smile on my face. Their selection is top notch and definitely caters to our surf community (hint hint awesome boards and wetsuits all sizes!!!! Huge bargain!) and best of all their prices are always right. Thank you guys for keeping the bar raised and holding the standard for what a pawn shop experience should be like! read more

first off... I live 54 miles away from Scott's (owner/manager) spot in oceanside, bargain pawn, but make the drive for the help i need. Scott is such a human. he isnt numb to the everyday hustle of pawn stores that I've experienced at other locations and he is willing to work with you and HELP you out. not rob you blind for you items. I was in need of a loan recently and had no idea how I was going to stay afloat. it was very simple, I just needed to communicate my situation and ask for help. I was welcomed with open arms. he offered a loan rather than to buy my items. going back to the "being human" he understood I wanted to keep my belongings rather than offer me pennies to the dollar for them as my only option. when I went to get them back out he had them locked up in his safe and organized just as I left them. it was a breathe of fresh air knowing my stuff was safe, well kept and taken care of as if it was his own. it's a fair, professional location. making the long drive was an easy choice knowing I was going to be treated with respect and not looked down on for needing help. true professional!! I recommend Bargain pawn for your everyday needs for help as well as a good deal on killer items. his clean, well kept store is beautiful located on coast highway in oceanside and full of gems and treasures. I've been to a few pawn shops and they were full of half working, not complete dewalt drills. all his items are complete. if there is an issue it is disclosed. you dont get to figure it out after a purchase. if you need help, scott at bargain pawn is the place to go. if I ever need help again this is the spot I am always making the drive to. read more

Very Friendly. Great Stuff. Would give them 5 stars but they are a little cheap on their gold payouts after they change $250-300 for something they buy for $40-60 so other than that great pawn shop read more

I would call this place as a rip off location. They would pay you 1/12 what your stuff worth and resale them for 80% of retail price. If you don't need cash that badly, sell on eBay or yourself. They are sucks anyways. It's like a joke. You might just give your extra stuff to good will then put in your next years tax return for some money back. Don't come here if you sale your stuff!!!!!! read more

Having never been to a pawn shop before, I must say that this shop and its owners and employees are quite different than what most of us think of when we think of visiting a pawn shop. I went there on the recommendation of my son who suggested this for the purchase of game systems & electronics for a sons friend. The people there were friendly, honest and helpful and frankly they provided excellent customer service. I left with the game system as well as several purchases of my own. A great experience, don't be afraid of this pawn shop, it is not stereotypical at all! read more

Stopped by today. I was looking for a Camcorder and a laptop. Was helped by one the employees Chris. Very nice, professional, and answered a lot of my question. I went in to get some extra cash for Christmas I was looking to pawn an 18k ring the guy said yes and was going on about the business than he asked for my ID well I guess I made the mistake of being a Military dependent because he said he "couldn't do it because I am a military dependent". Apparently there is a new law where they can't charge you over a certain amount interest so that guy proceeds to say "if I take your pawn than I can only make like $1 off of you so it's not worth it". I said "so you won't take my jewelry because I'm military?" He said " I just can't make anything off of you"! Unbelievable!!! So he couldn't rip me off so he'd rather not take my ring. This place is awesome! I've been coming here for awhile now sometime to browse purchase or get loans on some of my stuff. they always get new inventory. I check in at least once a week to see what they have. I've bought plenty of great deals, and have sold to them as well. Chris is super friendly, easy to talk to, and willing to work with you. I've heard him on multiple occasions recommend for someone to check with other stores first to ensure they get the best value. I've never had an issue with the quality of my purchases, but they've recently introduced a 7 day return policy so you can buy with confidence. read more
