Been wanting to try this place! Finally, we came here with my friend and my son and his buddy, after church (yesterday). Beautiful weather! There was a Reggae music festival going on so it was loud but other than that, I bet it's pretty chill. We tried: - Honey Matcha Latte = yummy (my friend's son finished it fast!) - Poderosa (fruit smoothie, no dairy) = my friend let us try it and it was very refreshing! - Dulce de leche latte (iced w/ Oat milk) = Gave me energy to walk for 3-4 miles with the kids. - The smoothie with Açaí, blueberry and chia seeds (forgot the name but it came with coconut milk) = Not sure if we liked it....but at least we tried it. Inattentive and lengthy service. Once I finally got someone to pay attention to me the food was going to take an extended period of time. I ended up going Nextdoor to the takeout place where I had empanadas that were probably refrigerated or frozen and then reheated, and they were not heated all the way through, and tasted marginal for the price. It was a great place to sit to look at the ocean, but of course anything in California has to be ruined by large groups of transients that smell terrible and clouds of marijuana smoke everywhere. read more

We actually didn't stay to eat. My daughter had been there recently and raved about this place. I'm in town to help her as she currently has a broken leg, full leg brace and crutches. We parked, I walked ahead to secure a table. The host was very accommodating and put me at a location where crutches, injured leg, etc, wouldn't be in anyone's way. My daughter was making her way from the parking lot and started up the accessible ramp. She was rudely admonished by the girl working that side and was told to go around to the front entrance and that it was no big deal as there was only one step at that entrance! It is. BIG deal. That's why they have accessibility accommodations! My daughter continued around and asked the very kind host to just come get me. She was distraught by the treatment she received, the host that helped me was very apologetic that "something had happened on the other side". My daughter was not going to spend $$ at a n establishment that does not respect everyone! I called when we got home, left a message to speak to a manager but I have yet to receive a callback. Appears some of the staff needs sensitivity training and an introduction to ADA requirements. Enjoy your outing if you are in perfect physical condition. Went for a stroll along the bike bath after a Yoga on the Bluff session and my friend and I stopped by this spot for an after yoga snack. We tried most of the empanadas and turned the snack into an entire meal! All the empanadas were delicious. But what really impressed me this visit was the amazing strawberry lemonade, the best I've ever had. The employee at the window as super friendly and helpful. The view from the outdoor seating was great and I definitely had a better experience than eating at the full service restaurant, where the self seating policy less to a terrible dining experience. read more

Was visiting a friend in the area and wanted to have a coffee. At first we thought the place was closed but walked in through the 'sit down' part of the place. Once we found the open part, we figured out it's a 3 in one place. Empanadas part open at 11am. We ordered a Poderosa drink, it was pretty good. Would be back for it. A Dulce de Leche Iced Latte that was okay. The bacon sandwich I had was very good, tiny for the price but overall good. The guy who helped us we weren't sure if he was nice or not. Left us second guessing if we liked his service. He couldn't hear our order or anyone else's who ordered after us. Not sure what that was about. I really wanted to enjoy this place, especially since it's right by the beach with awesome views. I just thought the ham and cheese I ordered was really mediocre and expensive for the price. It was like it got stomped on and microwaved. My ice coffee was pretty good and standard though. You also have to pay for parking too, but it's not that expensive. I stopped at the Gaucho Cafe on my walk. I was hesitant because of some of the poor reviews, but there are 2 different businesses located here. The "Gaucho Beach" is different from the Gaucho cafe. It was a very cute cafe! The customer service was great. Plenty of seating and I got my order quickly! There are some sketchy people around, especially when it gets dark, but that is beyond their control. Just something worth mentioning, especially if you're coming alone or at night. I ordered a vanilla latte and it was a bit sweet for my liking, but I would love to try some of their other drinks. A great little spot if you need a pick me up and I would recommend for anyone in the area! read more

It's a shame because I live about a 3 minute walk from here and love the atmosphere of this place and it's a cool little spot to have something to eat and drink, but I cannot get past the horrible, terrible, disrespectful and unprofessional service. First of all, they have the annoying type of menus where you have to use technology to order which in my opinion is inefficient because you have people who don't care to use that kind of stuff and who don't know how so it's very confusing. I had some questions for the waiter about the menu, but it took about 15 minutes to flag someone down and when we finally did, we asked our question and the guy immediately had a terrible attitude stating "just to let you know our kitchen is backed up and your food's going to take a while." Ooookaaaayyyy. Anyway. We came specifically for happy hour, which happens Monday through Friday between 3 PM and 6 PM. They provided us with a happy hour menu so we ordered drinks directly from the happy hour menu along with the shrimp ceviche which was also on happy hour. I noticed that as I was punching it in on their app to order all the menu items were full price, but in my mind, I figured that it would automatically discount to happy hour prices, but it never did so I called the waiter over. To say that he was absolutely rude and unprofessional is an understatement. I could barely understand what he was saying, but from what I gathered, he said that the happy hour menu basically didn't exist when I was staring right at it. He gave a whole lecture about how some items are seasonal and how sometimes there's happy hour and sometimes there's not so if the menu Items went into the app full price then that's what they are, which made absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. Why give us a happy hour menu if it doesn't exist? He finally walked away after giving us several dirty looks and came back with a receipt showing that he took the drinks off. I guess that pretty much evened everything out, but I guess he thought I was stupid and wouldn't check my bank statement as it's still showing the original withdrawal from my account and not the discounted. But don't worry because I already called my bank and filed a claim. This is a really dope spot to chill and have some food and drinks, but unfortunately, that won't be happening anymore because the staff are incredibly disrespectful, unprofessional and foul and it doesn't seem like management cares at all. read more

Fantastic place! The location is amazing first of all. It's very close to the wheel chair accessible path that leads right down the water, and the view is fantastic. Very close to the public and boat owners' bathrooms as well. The price of the food and drink is honestly very fair, especially when you consider its beach front location, and it's cheaper than Starbucks. My sister and I ordered the iced peach mate, which was a peach flavored yerba mate with cane sugar. It was light and refreshing, which was perfect for how hot it was today! Honestly, it reminded us of green tea (very yummy, not too sweet!). We also ordered the bacon breakfast sandwich, which was insanely good. The brioche bread was so fluffy, and it complimented the egg, cheese, and bacon so well. I have to add that the bacon was perfectly cooked. Solid 10/10 on the bacon breakfast sandwich. After enjoying a refrshing breakfast, we decided to share some baked goods. We got the spanish latte (iced), a chocolate croissant, and a blueberry muffin. I was kinda judging her for getting a blueberry muffin because I personally think they are overrated, BUT!!! I was so wrong because the muffin here was amazing. It was light, fluffy, and not too sweet. The fruity flavor was gentle and tasted so good!!! The spanish lattes were so good too, the condensed milk and espresso are the perfect match. YOU GOTTA TRY IT! The chocolate croissant was the star of the show. I had it heated up and man. Oh, man. It was like a marshmellow roasted over a campfire. It was so cripsy, and the chocolate drizzle had caramelized or something because it just was so good. A sensory experience. It was flakey and buttery with the hug from the chocolate. This place has great vibes, and it's fun to people watch as you enjoy a cold drink. Love the employees! They were all great! And I love how they have a security guard on site as well. Great location with access to the beach walking/bike path, WC access to the beach, parking area (fee) . The patio area is great and the second floor deck is open to the public (no purchase necessary). We order fried asparagus, sea bass in mussels sauce and entraña de Res -beef -( special Argentina cut of meat). Everything was wonderful and high quality food. The service was friendly and fast. Grecia was attentive and communicated well. Menu on table and you order and prepaid your food and drinks by scanning the q code . This place is also dog friendly!!!! Tried it for the first time. Went for lunch. Plenty of parking. I wasn't sure about the ordering method. It wasn't bad. Pretty easy. You scan a QR code and order and pay. I have to say that I have been here 3 times and 3/3 the service has been very bad. The staff gets the orders wrong every time and don't understand the menu or care to explain prices or condiments. One of the cashiers told me that she didn't have change so she wasn't going to give me change after charging a $6 coffee so I said, just return a dollar, her answer was with attitude that then, they were going to be short on their end. What type of training do they need in order to avoid these situations. It was very uncomfortable to get this attitude after paying for a coffee that they didn't charge me for after messing up my order. I understand it's a new restaurant/cafe but get the right people with good attitude. On the positive side, the empanadas and coffee are great! And the location amazing. read more

I tried this place today and I will 100% recommend it for the food. However, I was very disappointed of the surrounding. Our plan was to go for an early bite and walk at the beach and later come back and enjoy the Empanadas (that they open at 11:30am). Unfortunately, while you are eating there and trying to savor your food there is homeless people sleeping in tents in-front of the cafe and as they are waking up they seat on the tables right where you are trying to enjoy your breakfast. I know this might not be under their control I understand is the city of Long Beach fault, but they need to hire a security guard to make sure you feel safe there. The food is not inexpensive. Therefore, I will at-least expect to enjoy it in peace without having to smell the urine and excrement from the homeless. Doggies! We've been back several times, and really like the atmosphere, the dog, friendly patio, and the food. The novelty of the menu has worn off on us, especially with the ice cold fries we got with our hamburger last week, and the prices seem to change from visit to visit. The small, no tiny baskets of french fries or a non-please or we always order the side of fries because you get a big plate. The hamburger, the chicken sandwich, the steak sandwich, or all ample and delicious, so why the skimpy sides? They need to fix that to keep their loyalty high, in my humble opinion. And we've been there twice when the upstairs was closed because they had didn't have enough staff to handle it. They need to fix that. Everything was fine and normal until a live spider crawled out of my salad. The hostess said "it's hard to control these things in outdoors settings" and took it off the bill. I personally believe the salad leaves were not washed. The leaves were completely dry upon arrival. I love this spot on the beach, virtually the only place I can ride my bike to and get a beer and food close to the water. I have been here several times and checked out the menu, excited to come back and order the lobster roll and have an extravagant lunch. I was very disappointed in the service as it took forever for anyone to acknowledge me or take my order, and I when I did I got not even a smile or a thank you. My $23 plate was slapped down in front of me with no silverware or even checking in with me. Then the icing on the cake was when I called the bartenders attention and asked her for silverware and a napkin please...and she returned with just a knife and said "you don't need a fork right?"
