Great place for food! Wings are fantastic! Great view over the lake and great service

If you aren't familiar with them already, Gator's Dockside is a sports bar restaurant featuring mostly American food. I know that places like these are a dime a dozen, and this isn't the only Gator's in town, but this location has something elevating it above the other locations. This Gator's Dockside has prime real estate being right next to Lake Baldwin, and Baldwin Park in general is lovely. Even though they lean towards sports, it's still a very family friendly atmosphere. They were right on top of things providing a high chair and crayons for my friends' 1 year old. There are TVs throughout the restaurant showing various sports games, but I was able to easily ignore them. I do like soccer, though, and I could see myself coming back here to watch an Orlando City away game. The food is pretty standard American fare. You've got your burgers, you've got your chicken sandwiches, you've got your entrees, you've got your ribs...you know the drill. Where Gator's excels is with their wings. I am a huge fan of wings, and finding a good wing spot in Orlando has been a hit or miss affair for me. Gator's doesn't mess around. You can order just wings or you can order a wing platter with two sides. Breaded, grilled, and fried are all options, and you can go for bone or boneless. They have roughly 20 selections of sauces for your wings. I'm all about spice, so I went with the mango habanero. The wings themselves are great. They're big, they have plenty of meat on them, and I didn't find any runts in the litter like I usually do with wing places. The sauce was spicy and the mango balanced it out nicely to give it a fruity kick. Apparently, on Mondays, they have an all you can eat wings special, and you can bet your life savings that I will come back on a Monday to take advantage of this. Where I have to knock off a star is with the service. It's not that they weren't friendly; they certainly were. It was just that it was pretty slow. It took a long time for our food to arrive, and I'm hoping that maybe this was just an off night. Also, my broccoli wasn't cooked all the way and still had a bit of a crunch to it. Again, maybe they were having an off night, so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that my next time will be better. But seriously, if you like wings, this is right up your alley. They hook you up with big, beautiful wings that are delicious. And you get a nice view of Lake Baldwin and the Baldwin Park area. I'm sure I'll check out some of their other dishes at some point, but for the time being, I'm all about their wings. They know it, too, and provide plenty of napkins and paper towels for you. But remember this, if I see you review this place and you have pictures of chicken wings that have not been cleaned and still have meat on them, I WILL judge you. Never move on to another wing until you've cleaned off every last piece of meat on your current wing. That's just being respectful to the wings. read more

Had a really awesome Saturday at Gator's. This is a go-to spot for wings and things in the Baldwin Park area and beyond. I absolutely loved their beer specials.. I had a very flavorful beer that was the Saturday special and was only 3.99, Beyond that we ordered a tower of beer to share among friends which was really cool. Ordered Uber eats. Missing the extra sauces I paid for and, most disappointingly, the gator bites were not only all tiny over cooked pieces, but the amount I got for $17 is absolutely ridiculous. Soo I feel like under different circumstances, this restaurant could be a lot of fun, but this was for a buisness lunch. I ordered the veggie burger with fries ....annnddd the burger wasn't that good. I kind of tasted like flavored cardboard *sorry*. The fries were good though, and made up for it. I'm sure if I came after work to destress with a few good drinks, it would've been a lot better. This is a family friendly sports bar restaurant in Baldwin Park. We had 9 people in our party, adults and children. Our server was very good and our entire order was correct. One of my favorite places for chicken wings in Orlando! There are so many flavors of sauces from mild to tangy to spicy and can be boneless, bone in, grilled, baked, or fried. I like the scooteryaki sauce the best. It's an interesting mix between teriyaki and buffalo sauce. I also like the lemon pepper and Parmesan garlic sauces. I'm sure the hotter sauces are good as well, I just don't like spicy. The wings are crispy and big. This particular location is beautifully located on Lake Baldwin. I recommend enjoying outside. You still have access to the bar and can watch your favorite game. I think the prices are reasonable and there are usually specials every day (see pictures). Our waitress Lauren served us along with my dog outside this past weekend and she was excellent. My only negative comment was the quality of the salad. I ordered a side salad with creamy cucumber dressing, and was brought salad with wilted leaves and ranch. Lauren quickly took care of it though. We went today didn't really receive a warm welcome, they set us down and we waited more than 20 mins and never got waited on. The girl who had our table decided to clean a table, take the check from the table beside us and never address us. It wasn't busy at all. Disappointed. Will never go back. read more

This location has been here decades. It's exactly what you'd expect a family friendly sports bar to be. The bar area has plenty of seating. The dining areas have a number of high tops available, along with booths and regular tables. The entire restaurant is canvased with TV's, if that's what you're looking for. I've been coming to this and other locations for 17 years and the only on rare occasion not had a great experience. The menu has a wide variety of your typical Sports Bar foods ranging from burger, to ribs, to a multitude of sandwiches and wraps, they even have a few Pasta dishes and BBQ items. However, in my opinion, this place is best known for it's wings and man... THEY ARE GOOD! They offer a wide variety of sauces from your classics of buffalo, BBQ, teriyaki and garlic. They also have a number of tasty options you won't see often, like "Scooter" Gator's Docksides own recipe and even peanut butter and jelly! My favorite combin is Hot Teriyaki. Very poor service I don't even remember the girls name who took our order but she kept walking away, the soda was flat and our food was cold she was not a good server at all who brings out the appetizers with the meal and she wonders why her tip was shitty I'm no stranger I'm in the food industry myself and if I had a server like her she would be fired. Nice view over lake Baldwin. Good place to watch games. Beer is cheap, 6.99 a pitcher. Staff are cool. The gator tail was not fantastic. It was breaded and deep fried and couldn't really taste the meat. The buffalo chicken sandwich was yum. I have also tried the smoke sandwich which I didn't like that much. It was really messy. This Gator's Dockside has a nice view of lake Baldwin, if you are seating at the bar or at the outdoor patio. I rarely get food here. I just stick to the bar. Staff is super friendly and quick. They have a big menu of specialty cocktails. If you are a beer drinker, they have something called the granddaddy. It is an insane 128 ounces. Also, prices are not too bad. Came here to watch the eagles game. Pretty packed but we were able to find a seat at the bar. Ordered some shots service was quick. The pretzel was great! Came with double cheese, they had forgotten the mustard sauce, which we requested, a must have! I then ordered the boneless wings with honey garlic. Very tasty sauce, however for $7 I received what looked like 5 silver dollar sized bites of chicken. Extremely over priced. Definitely won't order the wings here again. I ordered the steak quesadilla and it was pretty gross. I'll leave it at that. Not to mention the chicken wings that were laying all over the floor under the table that they neglected to clean up prior to sitting new customers. Not a good look. The server was fine, not great, probably the best part of the experience which was overall less than mediocre. To top it off, I was with my elderly mother who needed assistance and I was in a hurry and accidentally left my card there. I called them as soon as I got home and was told that they had it and would be placed in a secure spot and that I would need to show my Id upon arrival. We drove the hour back there the next night and was greeted by an unpleasant woman at the hostess desk that immediately argued with me and told me that her General Manager did not leave a message that anyone had left a card last night. Insinuating that I made it up. I explained to her the timeline and asked that she please retrieve my card. She disappeared for 20 minutes and then retuned saying that she couldn't find it. I asked that she call her manager and she reluctantly walked away and was gone another 20 minutes. Meanwhile I spotted my server from a couple nights ago and he specifically remembered me and said he gave the card to management. The girl looked at me and flat out said ''what do you want me to do about it.'' Ummm find it for one. I advised her that I would be calling the police if it was not retuned to me. 2 minutes later someone at the front (where the woman who was trying to find the card was standing) returned it to me. Needless to say I was not happy that I waited around 45 minutes and treated poorly the entire time. Not only that, they didn't even ask for my id to confirm my identity. The overall experience was sketch and the level of customer service is the worst I have experienced in a very long time. I will not be going back nor recommend this place to anyone. read more

Absolutely horrible service. Trying to get wings and beer and got denied from drinking because they didn't like that our IDs were from different states. (We are from the college right next to the restaurant). Not only did they deny us from getting a drink but they also wasted 30 minutes of our time doing it. Our experience here was less than desirable. The only good thing about our visit was the food. To say our waitress was scarce is an understatement. Our appetizer took forever can came out 3 minutes before our meal, which is one of the most annoying things to happen. I order an appetizer because I'm hungry now. If I knew it was going to come out with my meal, I wouldn't have ordered one. One of my friends asked the guy who brought out our food and our waitress for ranch. About ten minutes later her boyfriend went to the bar to ask for one and one was finally delivered. The final straw was when the checks came back wrong - the guys ordered beer and were told they were 2-4-1 but were charged for both. We asked for a manager at this point to explain our experience and he happened to walk up right at the same time our waitress did. We explained the error and instead of waiting and talking to us, he disappeared with her to change the bill. We clearly didn't ask for a manager simply because of a bill issue... that's an easy resolution. I am annoyed at the unprofessionalism of that. We weren't even looking for anything other than to let him know there were opportunities for improvement. I won't make my way back here and I highly suggest you don't unless you're up for a long, annoying experience. read more

This is my favorite gators location. The bartender's Lacy and John are always on point and if you choose regular seating Steven is your go to guy. Everyone who works here is busting there butts keeping this place clean and they have food runners so your food isn't sitting back there dying on the line which I love. Tons of TV's inside and out so you can catch every game all at once. Convenient located on Lake Baldwin it's a great place to go grab drinks and watch the game. We always grab the zingers which are boneless chicken tenders dipped in your choice of sauce and served with blue cheese or ranch. I normally choose the terriaki wings which can't be beat. Mix it up and try there gator bites. Yum. read more

It was a last minute choice. I got the fish tacos grilled. They also have them blackened but I did not want them to be to hot. They arrived and they looked blackened. There was a ton of seasoning on them and they were hot. I asked the waiter if they were blackened and he said that he asked for them grilled but they looked blackened. We love the food at Gators! Their drinks are also good and decently priced. They have a spacious outdoor space, but be warned, it is right on the lake so mosquitos are plentiful. Due to the nature of the place, there are often very loud (frankly, obnoxiously loud) groups, especially on the patio. The wait staff are generally awesome and service is usually quick. It is PACKED any time their is a big game so if you plan to go on a game day, you will want to get there well before the start time. read more

I ordered the giant pretzel and the caramel apple dessert, the bartender (gentleman) cleared off the bar after I ordered and did a few other things before putting my order in. He didn't ask if I wanted anything to drink. When I received my food and got back to where I was visiting a friend the cheese was cold and there was no to go utensils. When I went back and spoke with him, his response was ," you didn't have anything to heat this up in". That shouldn't ever be the response as he told me that they had shut down the heating well. It should've come out as if it were ordered In the restaurant. Not to mention his mask was lowered and underneath his nose the entire time. Experienced horrible customer service from a server when picking up my phone order. After receiving our food we got to the car and checked our food and there was no cheese on our Caesar salad, the romaine was wilted, and no utensils or napkins were in our bag. So my husband went back inside and politely asked for utensils and a fresh salad. She walked off and had an attitude. We asked another server if they could also add extra cheese and once the original server Sarah returned with our new salad she said that will cost extra and had a very condescending unprofessional attitude with her approach and shrugged her shoulders and walked off. Meh. The most bland seafood pasta dish ever. It literally had zero flavor beyond boiled shrimp and tasteless noodles. Some really easy suggestions to improve your seafood pasta dish. Season at each level before you toss it together. Salt your pasta water, maybe a little lemon to the shrimp, Tops in a fresh herb like basil and top with some grated parmigiana cheese. I promise it will taste better Update: we eat here regularly. I just don't get the pasta. Lol. Great draft beer choices, yummy hot garlic wings grilled and lightly retossed, the California burger is my favorite, and the tuna salad is really, really good when they make it with mixed greens (which is what the menu says) instead of iceberg. Love this location. It's become a regular spot for me on Sundays for a place to grab some beer and maybe a bite to eat after riding on the Cady Way Trail. They have a really great outdoor patio that also has seating at the bar if you want to be outside. Every time I have come here, the bartenders have been wonderful. Very attentive and we always get ice cold mugs for our pitcher of beer :). They have great specials on Bud Light if you like it. It's not my first choice, but you can't beat the $1.75 pints or I believe the $6 pitchers. Their wings here are really good. I had them grilled with traditional and teryaki mixed. Yum! Reminds me of a place in Ormond where I grew up that grills their wings and have always been my favorite kind. You get a nice char on the outside of them that adds awesome flavor. This is our spot. My son LOVES it here. We have had Bryce as our server a couple times now and his service is top notch! The location is great, it's waterfront, there are games to keep the kiddos happy and the food is really good too. If you are anywhere near the Baldwin area, pop in and ask for Bryce. If I want a sit down dinner in Baldwin Park with my picky children this is where we go nearly every time. The kids menu is really great and you can get veggies with the kids meals if you are a better parent than I am. The wings are my favorite wings in town although if you don't eat wings I have yet to find another adult entree to rave about. The family night they used to do before COVID was incredible - clowns, balloons, face paint, cartoons on all the TVs and free kids meals! I been here thousands of time. I usually walk over. I am surprised I haven't done a review for this place. The service is usually great. The wings are amazing, I would recommend mixing lemon pepper with hot. The beer selection isn't bad, they have quite a few variety on tab. Monday - all you can eat wings 12bucks Tuesday - 2 for 1 Wednesday - all you can eat boneless wings with fries 11 bucks P.S. Participate in the points system at gators. Great HH draft and liquor pricing. Single pours for $3, or make it a double for $5. Food is good- not as much regarding healthy options. Hence the fried pickles being one of my unhealthy favorites. The hand dipped fish and chips was good - a bit greasy- but still well done. Great views of Lake Baldwin of you sit outside- so ensure the weather is nice and enjoy. I always enjoy Gators wings. I especially enjoy this Lake Baldwin location. It's nestled upon quaint shops and other eateries and gorgeous landscaping all the way around. I love just to sit outside and look at the lake also. The staff is always friendly and the food is always scrumptious. I had to take away one star because the waitress was supposed to bring me wings to take home AFTER we had eaten our dinners. Unfortunately, they came out BEFORE our food even arrived. I had to bring home 2 hour old and wings. They were still good but not as fresh as requested. read more

I've been to numerous Gator's locations around town and love that I have this option sorta close to home if we are craving wings. It was my first time here and , for the most part, a good one. I ended up here sorta late with a few girlfriends. I was the odd man out as I don't watch football but my gal pals did. So they were stoked that it was Thursday night football. The place was packed. And apparently this is where all the UCF folks watch their team play. Super fun environment. We were seated in the main dining room area and I really loved how open it was - no crammed together tables and booths. There are televisions hung everywhere and a variety of sporting events were being shown so there's something for every sports fanatic out there. Food was pretty decent for a sports bar. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich with seasoned fries. Really hearty as I had half to take home . A friend ordered the peanut butter & jelly wings. Soooo good. I'm gonna have to order those for when I take my husband here next time. Another friend had the philly cheesesteak and seemed pretty pleased with her meal. Our server did the usual checking in on us but there were a few gaps of wait time that were longer than expected. Granted, it was a busy football night so I should take that into consideration. Single ladies- head here too. Lots of big groups of guys....and I'm sure some single ones ready to mingle...just saying! Decent service, decent food - absolutely no complaints from me. We have come to this location in several instances to enjoy a few football games or grab a quick bite. We have never had any issues being seated or waited on. The wait staff is usually very nice and accommodating, with overall great service. We have never had any issues with food or drinks either. It's bar food, so don't expect too much. As someone who's default meal is boneless wings and french fries, I really can't complain. The wings are good and sauced just right. They give a good portion of fries. It's all good to me. I also really enjoy their spinach and artichoke dip as an appetizer. If you need a quick, casual bite in Baldwin Park, I would suggest stopping by Gator's Dockside. read more

Just left Gators At Baldwin... I was on a bike ride, started to storm,I stopped to sit on patio for a drink and wait out the storm. Checked with hostess to see if ok to sit on patio without mask. Was told no, that her manager was very strict about masks on the patio... hmmm As I was leaving saw 6 people on the patio... no one had masks.!
