The evidence...yuck

Pulled in off the bike path and oh my..... Cold stale greasy chips and the worst club sandwich I have ever eaten. Flavorless toasted white bread with bland pressed ham and turkey, flavorless cheese, shredded lettuce and flavorless tomato. I suspect low quality ingredients as I could have been eating fake food display with similar enjoyment. On the plus side the bartender was a sweet person and very attentive.

Cheesesteak and fries - good!

Diverse menu, amazing location, lots of TVs for sports, and prices are reasonable. I'd like to try more of the menu before passing judgement, but this place is a neighborhood asset and deserves recognition and my repeat visits to see the hockey playoffs. Trivia nights look fun also.

I will forever come here for gators basketball games!! Not only was this establishment extremely cooperative when I was on a last minute hunt for a reservation for 10 people during the final March madness game, the food was phenomenal! The atmosphere provided alone was amazing. The beer towers are also extremely affordable & fun! *apparently their Buffalo chicken is just fried chicken, not necessarily covered in Buffalo just fyi!

My go to spot for buffalo wings. The food is consistently good. I love the spicy garlic wings. Also, Monday nights are all you can eat wings.

First time coming here after living in Florida for 8 years although I've had take out before. Typical sports bar atmosphere and food. Friday night it wasn't too crowded...food was good and service was good as well.

I've always been a fan of Gator's Dockside, but my recent experience at the Baldwin location was incredibly disappointing. The nachos came out cold and barely had any toppings. We also ordered the loaded fries, which were topped with unmelted sprinkle cheese--it wasn't even warm enough to melt the cheese! The wings were over-fried, and I was served a glass of wine that was a completely different brand than what I ordered--it tasted awful. To make matters worse, our server was absent for most of the meal. I had to track her down three different times just to order additional food. While I didn't want to make a scene in front of the couple we were dining with, the lack of quality in the food and service was extremely frustrating. This is such a great location in a wonderful area, but we spent a lot of money and left feeling ripped off and disgusted with a tummy ache. Gator's Dockside Baldwin, you need to do better.

This is where we meet with the Orlando, Auburn University club and watch games together... Super fun atmosphere great service. Delicious wings.

A local place to watch the game and have a few drinks to escape the heat. Food is normal bar food and the staff is super friendly. Cool theme as well.

Was taking a trip down memory lane having lived in the Baldwin Park area before it had been developed. Needed a bite to eat and stopped by here. Lots of shops and restaurants in the area, so I had to park a couple blocks away. Upon arrival, I requested to sit outside. They have an outside patio across from Lake Baldwin. Many people were outside with their dogs on the patio. (Inside had a strong chemical cleaner smell.) TVs are located inside and outside playing sports, and there are some games inside, too. Typical sports bar feel. Server was friendly and quick with bringing water, drinks, and food. Snacked on their Signature Mushrooms to start. Then had a Gyro. Both were ok and standard. Place was busy and seems a popular neighborhood hangout.

Updating this review from about seven years ago. I came to Reel Fish a while ago, and it was a…read moretruly awful experience. The skimpy amount of seafood I got was not good, not cooked well, or served with undercooked potatoes. It shook me. Especially for a Winter Park restaurant. After my five year statute of limitations passed on repeating restaurants, I looked for the perfect opportunity to come back and try again. I found that opportunity recently with a few friends for brunch. Their brunch menu looked amazing, so we made our reservation and came on by. Ambiance is actually really nice. Right off one of the main WP roads, gigantic windows look out upon the street as passersby roam from shop to shop. Inside looks like an ocean-side sea shack, but an upper middle class one. Very nice little ocean-themed chotchkies adorn the walls, very cozy. Service was also great. Very nice server, very prompt food delivery, and they gave complimentary bread with a delightful butter. I always adore free bread. We started off sharing the Seafood Fritters (Four savory puppies, stuffed with lobster, shrimp, scallops, clams, grouper, onions, corn, poblano peppers, served with a zesty tartar sauce). If all five of those seafoods really were in there, there must have been only a few molecules each, but there was undoubtedly flavors from most of that list, and they were accentuated with the poblano. Topped with that zesty tartar, and this was an A+ app. I had the Lobster Benedict Royale (Chunks of Maine lobster on fried green tomatoes & house-baked buttermilk biscuits, topped with poached eggs & Hollandaise, sprinkled with paprika & chopped green onions). This was indulgent. Pure luxury. A warm biscuit with a good flakiness, that fried green tomato with the perfect thickness and thin, delicate coating, and those perfectly cooked jumbo chunks of lobster on top, all covered in an unctuous Hollandaise. Exactly as it sounds, as advertised, the perfect seafood brunch item. I also got to try the Shrimp Frittata (Wild-caught Florida shrimp, fresh eggs, spinach, Campari tomatoes, goat cheese, caramelized onions, baked in a cast-iron skillet, with wheat toast, butter & a little mixed green salad). This was a fun dish. Good shrimps, well-cooked eggs, a nice tang from that goat, and of course a nice crunchy toast to help make it even more interesting. I didn't like that random salad on the side. Just get bigger cast irons and make the frittata bigger. Overall, what a redemption. I'm not sure what was wrong back in the day, but this is a five star place now that I will happily return to when it's time.

Pros: Ambiance is so nice. Right in the cross section of…read morewhere the good places of Winter Park are. Huge windows overlooking the cars passing by on the street. And they gave us free bread and biscuits that were very, very good. Best part of the meal probably. Food was good, too! We came for brunch, so everything was a brunch/seafood combo, which was so good. Cons: Not a single con. Real good meal. Tips: Ask for more of that delicious bread.

The food is amazing and their portions are always generous and worth the money. Our go-tos are the friend haddock and the fried chicken strips. And to top it off snatched the menu out of my hands. Let's start with how they run the restaurant It's almost like s fast food They take your order first and pay, then they sit you. They even ask for tip. Once seated they bring the food out. Decor was okay but the furniture was in terrible conditions. Restroom looks like a 7/11 bathroom. Now the food which was pricey. No flavor at all. Let me start with the coconut shrimp, no flavor just drop fried. French fries were good but no seasoning. The lobster bisk was horrible. Again no flavor and very giddy with tiny sherds of lobster. Mac and cheese tasted like microwave food. My husband had fried scallops and although it didn't have much flavor they were pretty good. All in all great for all the seniors that were there but not for younger folks or anyone who likes to taste their food. Sadly to say won't be returning.

You haven't had shrimp and grits til you've had them as grit cakes, get the shrimp and grit cake: Monica style, if you don't like spice, maybe don't get it but it's delicious otherwise. The combination of the crunchy fried exterior and the creamy grits inside is such a yummy experience. Lastly, you have to get beignets and an espresso martini. As a beignet obsessed person, it pains me to say that their bread pudding is the superior dessert. I'm not a HUGE fan of the croissant flaky style of beignet that's become the norm for most places, but that's what they have here. I'd much prefer the classic beignet with the pocket of air in the middle. But otherwise they're still amazing and the espresso martini is delicious. Sarah B was an efficient and friendly waitress! Made a reservation for 7 p.m. Arrived a bit early and had to kill some time at the bar, as they were only seating on-time. I ordered an espresso martini, which looked more like a shot than a cocktail. It wasn't great. Not the right consistency. Weak color. Once seated at our table, my party of 3 ordered 2 apps. We all agreed the Ceviche was the most bland we have ever tasted. Served sans lime wedges, which might have helped, but not much. The Crush Puppies were also meh. Rather small portion that appeared to be fried a bit too long. The other cocktail I ordered from their bar menu (grilled cheese and pickle one) was again miniature-looking. Our entrées were a step up from our apps, at least. I was very disappointed that my top pick, the Cioppino, had just sold out. Guess that was a popular dish on Mother's Day. My daughter's Truffle Bucatini had a satisfying flavor. Service was fine. The hostess, however, wasn't all that friendly or helpful. The interior is nicely styled and has an upscale feel with verdant plants tucked here and there. The central bar has an enticing vibe. Overall though, it was an expensive outing that failed to impress us.

Must try: rice rolls, bbq pork buns, soup dumplings, sticky rice lotus leaf, fried meat dumplings, fried shrimp roll, sesame balls. We had left over of all the above and it all reheated well at home later that night. The so-so: Har gow was made with intact small shrimp and not chopped up jumbo shrimp so the texture of the filling is off, the wrapper was nice though. Shu mai was also texturally off which led to lack in flavor, there was no distinct difference between the pork and shrimp in it. Shrimp steamed rice roll has the same situation of having the small shrimp which just aren't as flavorful or texturally tasty. When the soup dumplings came, they did not offer any spoons to eat it with. I asked twice for some soup spoons and they only brought over metal ones that weren't big enough for the dumplings. Also ask for vinegar for the table. Love the shrimp chips they give you when you first sit down and the plate of condiments! Server was very nice and the prices are decent. The potato dumplings were alright, but the seasoning and mix of the sauce was perfect for the chicken. The serving size was good as well and there was barely any bone to interrupt eating it. My girlfriend said that the steak was cooked perfectly medium as they asked. The steak sauce paired really well, and they had enough for leftovers, and enjoyed it even more the day after.
