I've been to Burger U lots of times being that it's close to work. It's one of those places not many people know about probably because its within UCF campus. I've never had a bad meal here and my absolute favorite thing to get from them is their garden salad with a side of grilled tenders. I've heard that their fried tenders are really good too. During a special event weekend at Additions Arena, we stopped by Burger U for lunch. The restaurant was busy, but the staff were friendly and service was prompt. I tried the Impossible Burger, and my son had a double patty cheeseburger with a cookies and cream milkshake. Everything was delicious! I came to Burger U for dinner with an old professor one evening, and it was right after Spring semester, so it was kind of a ghost town, so there was plenty of seating to choose from, and there were plenty of seat variety, too. Stools, normal chairs, outdoor seating. Anyone's seating preference would be satisfied here. I found a seat, waited, and when my prof showed up, we went up to the counter and ordered. I knew I should have ordered a Burger at Burger U, but the nice girl at the register and I had a conversation, and we ultimately decided that the best option for me that night would be the wings. They come in batches of 10. Sounded good to me. I get my wings half-and-half, five one flavor, five another flavor. Don't ask me what flavors I got, it was way too long ago. But I do remember the wings were very good! Crisp, moist inside, of a decent size. The only criticism I had for the wings was that neither flavor really hit me, because they were undersauced. I understand rising food costs, but wing sauce it not where to cut the budget. Regardless, the flavor was there, and I ate them all without complaints, so I'll take it and give this fun little place that I really enjoyed going to in school a five stars. Stopped here for lunch while waiting for the rain to pass. The ambiance was the right setting so I could do some work, and, conveniently, not too far from my clssses. The burger patties were delicious and kind of similar to a "smash burger". It also tasted better than the typical chain fast food burger. Maybe I will do the fries next time. read more

This is a great source of affordable bar food in the UCF area - while I enjoyed the mahi sandwich, my friends shared burgers, wings, and sides. I wish there was more than one combo option for drink and fry add-ons; however, it's becoming more common for menu items to be separated this way and keeps the sandwich prices a little lower. We all spent $10 or less. Burger U also hosts weekly trivia nights on Tuesdays. I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard it's a lot of fun and hope to go soon! read more

I would have given zero star, if that were an option. I went to Burger you and ordered an angus burger to be done medium-ly done. I also requested to have hot water. The person who took my order informed me that she would get the water to me, but the water never came. After more than 30 minutes, the burger that came was overly done. Not only that, it was not an angus burger. I then stopped the server and reminded him of my request of the hot water and I was informed there is no hot water anywhere in the restaurant. I later called the restaurant and asked to talk to the manager. A young lady stated her named to Shaunah and she claimed to be the manager. As soon as started to inform her of my experience, she hung up the phone. I called again and she picked up the phone again. I stated that we lost the connection and she hung up again. Oh. My. God. The food is INSANE! The atmosphere is very fun and definitely what you would expect on a university campus. I ordered the grilled wings, which came with bleu cheese on the side. Shawn opted for their special burger: chicken breasts, burger patty and cheese, fried egg & veggies, sandwiched in between 2 thick, buttermilk waffles. It looked and smelled delicious, and will probably cause a heart attack, but he finished it & placed it in his top 3 burgers he has ever had. They give you a LOT of food for the price, the waitress is very attentive bringing us utensils, refills, and checking to make sure we had all we needed. We will definitely return! read more

4 Stars for some surprising elements (sauces made from scratch), a pretty darn good chicken sandwich, and garlic fries that are so good you won't mind people crossing the street to get away from your stench. You order (and pay) at a counter prior to finding a seat in the pretty big restaurant. We were shocked by how dead it was on a Saturday night, but I imagine it's nuts on a game day or before a big event. Things I loved: - The chicken sandwich comes on buttered, toasted sourdough bread. It's decadent, will leave your fingers dripping, and flippin' amazing. The chicken is grilled but still moist and it comes with lettuce and tomato slices. It's definitely a dish I'd repeat! - They make their chips in house and it comes with your choice of dipping sauces. I was beyond surprised and excited to hear that the sauces were made from scratch as well. The chips were crispy and dang, the honey mustard and ranch sauces were on point! - two words. Garlic. Fries. The fries are good in their own (crispy and cut in house), but slathered in a green garlic sauce they are absolutely irresistible. Order them. You'll thank me later. What was "meh": - I was considering the veggie burger but thought it was odd that they'd have house-made chips, all sauces from scratch, and yet they don't make their own veggie burger patties. Seems like a waist to get homemade sides and a frozen veggie burger. I didn't end up ordering it. - I tried my friend's burger and it was cooked to a perfect Medium, but it was pretty small and lonely without a side. When I walked in around 7 pm on a Saturday night, there were just a handful of people at the bar and one table of three girls sitting not at the bar. I stood around awkwardly at the front, not sure what to do. There appeared to be a counter ordering system, but no one was up there and there was no sign to seat yourself, order at the bar, or wait to be seated. I kept waiting, hoping someone might see me, say hello, acknowledge my presence .... something. Finally I got tired of waiting and walked to the bar, since everyone else was there. As soon as I sat down, two girls to my right just looked at me like I wasn't supposed to be there. Finally, a bartender came over and I asked if I could order food at the bar. He just handed me a menu as a response. I ended up ordering a beer, a burger, and some fries. The burger is your basic patty and things like cheese cost extra. It looks like they try to do a Five Guys kind of thing with a section in black that comes free on your burger like ketchup, lettuce, mayo, etc. I opted for sriracha mayo and blue cheese (extra cost for the cheese) along with everything that normally came on it. My burger was good and actually cooked medium like I asked for. The fries were lackluster, nothing special. I see other reviews mentioning seasoning; I didn't know you could get that, and wasn't offered that or the garlic flavor either. Ultimately, I felt so awkward there like I was in the way of the people drinking at the bar, I probably wouldn't go back unless it was during the day for lunch. Maybe it's a different vibe then. I am quite torn because I mean the burger was actually really good but the fries was such a fail... Burger U is a counter service restaurant where you order your meal when you first walk in and then go take a seat with your number then someone comes out with your meal. We came here for lunch and they were pretty fast granted it is not packed like other places on University Dr. when you just gotta grab a decent burger on a regular lunch break. I liked the fact the restaurant didn't make it feel like you're at UCF but like a little better than a university joint when you're off campus. The outside music would have been too loud for me (I'm not old, I just want to talk to my fraaans!!) but inside music level was great! The burger was pretty darn delicious. I got a 1 patty with cheese, grilled onions, ketchup and lettuce. Pretty basic and thats how I like it. The burger was a little greasy but I think it has to do with the grilled onions, I was okay with it. Seasoned nicely. The bun was so pillowy soft but didn't lose its shape. I opted for a side of garlic fries and if I didn't ordered those fries, I would have ranked this place 4 stars. The garlic fries are tossed in what looks like a garlic infused oil or just regular oil with chopped herbs and maybe garlic. If you ever read any of my other review I absolutely LOVE garlic but I hardly couldn't down these fries because they were SOAKED in oil. Sad Face. I strongly suggest they find another method to make garlic fries such as tossing them in a garlic powder and fresh garlic with fresh herbs. Fries tossed in oil? No bueno. Just No. Other than that, many may like this cause they have beers and stuff which is cool and decent pricing. I'm a little late on my review. Sorry, I'm a slacker. I went here back at the beginning of November before the UCF basketball home opener. Met up with some friends to have burgers, beer and a good time before tipoff. Everyone told me it's great. I got there about 6pm, and it wasn't too busy. A handful of people in the restaurant dining area, and a few more outside. A few people were in line, but not crazy at all. I waited for my friends, and it started to fill up. Once my friends arrived, we took turns ordering. I secured a table outside and then they took over once I ordered. The line wasn't long at this time, so it didn't take my long to order a burger, fries and a beer. I can't remember exactly which one I got, but ordering was a breeze and the staff were pleasant. So, we all go outside, put a couple of tables together and hungout, waiting on our food. Over the course of the next hour or so, the food slowly arrived, a few more friends showed up, ordered their food, and got beers at the bar. Some of my friends who showed up much later than me got their food, and I was still waiting on mine. After about 30 minutes, I went up to the cashier to inquire about my order. At this point the line was out the door, but she went to the kitchen to check. She returned quickly and said they were finishing up my order and it would be right out. Well, another 15 minutes went by without my food or beer. I stopped a server, explained what was going on. he apologized and quickly ran to get my beer so I could at least have that. Tip of my hat to him. About 10 minutes later, my burger arrived and I had to basically scarf it down and chug my beer so I didn't miss tip-off. I honestly can't remember if the burger was great or not. I suspect it wasn't bad, it wasn't fantastic, but it was just fine. I know things happen, especially on busy nights. The problem is that it wasn't busy when I ordered. That, coupled with the fact that others in my party got their orders very quickly indicates that the kitchen screwed up and lost my ticket or something. No big deal in the end, but I think they need to work on cleaning that up. This really is a great place to spend four years. I have been coming to BurgerU for quite some time and the service is always amazing. I usually sit at the bar and every bartender is outstanding. The bar manager Derek is awesome and has great recommendations. Stacy is a world traveler that brings her expertise to the bar. Ask her if you want a fun drink! They're generous on the fries and the seasoned ones were actually pretty good. The size of the grilled chicken tenders are a disappointment though. They are twice the size sauce container. They advertised to be "Large", seemed kinda false. It was good to munch on but make sure you cut them open to check if they are cooked all the way through. Juicy but borderline to being undercooked. The coconut curry sauce was too sweet, drowned out the curry flavor. Be sure to place the number in line of sight of the kitchen, otherwise the runners look so lost trying to look for your table. Also, clarify the number. A 60 turned upside down ilooks like 09 This place doesnt pay attention to detail cleaning.
