We split the fries with aioli sauce and they were the perfect crispy and we smashed the aioli sauce- our waitress got us a second cup. I got the Porcini Dusted Cobia, which had white fish, couscous, feta, and grapes. I basically licked the bowl clean! It was the perfect, fresh blend of all deliciousness. My husband had elk bolognese with wagyu and it was very tasty. After dinner, we walked downstairs to the garden where they grow all their own herbs thru hydroponic lights. We had a great meal at gather! Gather offers very dining experience but also caters well to younger kids, which is a rare combination. My wife and I brought our 2-year old here for an early dinner on Sunday. It probably helped that they weren't very busy at that time, but the staff was great with him and very patient with us as we got him situated. Most importantly, the food was great! The steamed buns were our favorite, but the elk ragu and bone marrow friend rice were amazing as well! The portions are really big so we probably could have split an entree. Came here on a whim for a Mother's Day treat after being intrigued by such a unique menu. We had no reservations (it was a Friday night) and got seated right away. We got the Bison Wagyu and the Garden Salad and split them both. The serving sizes a great for one person so I would recommend each person get their own entree. The bison was absolutely tasty and the bone marrow rice was so unique. I especially enjoyed the shrimp and the dressing for the salad. The shrimp was perfectly seasoned and cooked and our 2 year old said "that was yummy!" The dressing is light and sweet and really compliments the salad with a nice burst of bitterness. I love this place! The first time I tried it was on a Yelp Elite event, and I instantly fell in love with it. This time however, we came back and tried it for real! Cathleen was our server and she was outstanding! It's like she knew what we wanted before we knew! We tried the bison short rib on top of a farro risotto. The skin was sooo crispy! It really made the meal for me as I really enjoy a crispy exterior. And the dark chocolate mole was a great addition. I wasn't sure what to expect from it, but the sweet flavor it brought as a dipping sauce brought out a different vibe in such a good way! Truffle isn't my favorite thing, but this one wasn't overwhelming and I enjoyed it. It wasn't anything special or over the top, but good nonetheless. But those Brussels!! Damn! Once again, another great visit to Gather! Decided on going here for an anniversary dinner because of the romantic and intimate ambiance of Gather, making it the perfect spot for a date night. The food and drinks were, as always, amazing! I started with the caliente wey, which was perfect. It is so refreshing, and I love the spice to it. There was an option to do salt, sugar, or tajin on the rim, and I'm so glad I went with the tajin. The crispy brussels are a must here, and were great once again! I ordered the elk bolognese this time to try something new, and I will definitely be ordering it again. The house made pasta and sauce were both delicious. The server was great, and the manager came over to check on everything and was extremely friendly. He was aware we were celebrating an anniversary, and made sure to make it special for us! One place I knew I had to come to on my birthday weekend was Gather. My friend and I arrived around 530 on a Saturday, and grabbed bar seats right away. It was already getting busy in there so I would recommend reservations! We decided to just do apps and cocktails: The Jack and Ginny is a wonderful cocktail, love the addition of fresh herbs. For apps, we had the pork buns, imperial tartare, and burrata. They brought the apps out one at a time so it felt like we were having a multiple course meal. Great service and so fun! Can I give zero stars? Although I've been several times before, this meal was well below average. We sat on the patio in the back. The server who was out there didn't want to be working on a holiday. Gathering at Gather for my birthday was a long-awaited treat after the fantastic experience during the Yelp event. Eager to relish those delightful flavors, we ordered many of the same dishes. Unfortunately, they were out of the carrots that night, but Gather's unparalleled brussel sprouts were still available so I couldn't be too disappointed. These are, without a doubt, the best brussel sprouts I've ever tasted. On the flip side, the truffle pasta fell a bit short of expectations. The portions of mushrooms and pasta were almost equal. My love for carbs and my dislike for mushrooms are about the same, so I was hoping to eat around the some of the mushrooms, but there were sooo many. Despite my experience, everyone else at the table thoroughly enjoyed their selections. We wrapped up the culinary journey with desserts. While the Jackson Donut holes were decent, with a taste reminiscent of fried Pillsbury biscuits, I missed out on the Red Velvet Cheesecake that garnered high praise. Instead, I opted for the chocolate torte, which, unfortunately, didn't quite measure up to their taste but I thought was great. I visited Gather on Sunday evening for date night. I had heard a lot of great things about this restaurant and was looking forward to trying it. We dined during happy hour and enjoyed the crispy Brussels and bone marrow fried rice for happy hour. For dinner, I tried the pork shank. I thought the crispy Brussels lacked a bit of flavor, but really enjoyed the bone marrow fried rice. The sweet sauce and pineapple cucumber salad on top paired well with the savory fried rice. The pork shank was also so delicious. The sweetness of the jalapeño jam and carrot puree perfectly balanced the pork. It was a very unique combination of flavors that I really enjoyed! Food presentation of the fried rice and my entree were great too. The concept of this restaurant is really unique. We visited the Gather Urban Farm after dinner and learned about how they grow fresh greens that are cut to order and added to some of the dishes they serve. While we did not have any of the salads, I look forward to trying them in the future. The food is a little pricey, but I really enjoyed it and definitely plan to return to try some other things on the menu! read more

5 stars for this location of Gather. They executed everything well, and the indoor herb garden really is a special addition. I enjoyed the elk bolognese with handmade noodles, but the sauce was missing something. I couldn't put my finger on it but it wasn't as great as I would have hoped. We didn't find the fried chicken to be anything special, but the Mac and cheese had a very tasty cheese sauce on it. The pork belly bao buns were a table favorite. I love a dish that hits all the flavor components; it was salty and tangy and crunchy and umami and spicy. Really tasty pork belly. Make sure you eat immediately upon delivery. If the buns sit on the table they change consistency and become more gummy. I wasn't that impressed with the charcuterie board, it had a couple of meats and cheeses that were tasty but there were quite a bit of seeds and micro greens and things that we didn't really eat. I really love to see dried fruit, jams or chutneys, grapes, honey, mustard, roasted nuts...things like that on a board. This board had a couple special accoutrements but not enough. And not enough bread. Our server was friendly and knew a lot about the restaurant and the menu. We enjoyed visiting the garden downstairs. What a cool concept of growing your own herbs. read more

This place is exceptional! It's a newly opened restaurant in the Market Place area of downtown Omaha. The customer service was impeccable and I could eat here everyday if I lived in the area. That's just how delicious it was! The menu is small but don't let that fool you. That means that every plate gets all the special details and modifications made with perfection. The food came out quickly and I sat outside on their patio listening to a saxophonist entertain the crowd. The people watching was amazing with diverse cultures walking the streets. Almost every one was smoking a vape of some sort. Lol. They also grow their own micro greens and lettuces downstairs using hydroponics! Super cool to see. Gather brings interesting flavors to mix in an incredibly warm atmosphere. They have an incredible garden in the basement with beautiful greens and herbs that go directly into your food. To start, we ordered the Brussels sprouts and burrata plate. The Brussels sprouts were amazing, they were cooked perfectly and seasoned/garnished well. The burrata was interesting, I haven't had naan paired with burrata before, so I was a bit thrown off by that. The condiments that came with it were yummy. Some of the best food I have ever had in my entire life! I had heard amazing things from anyone I talked to who had been here, and I knew I had to come here. I made a reservation on their website which was so easy to do. We arrived a bit earlier than our reservation was, but were sat down right when we got there. We both loved them! I got the berry mojito to drink which was so refreshing and tasty. My fiancée got the Gather favorite cocktail called Caliente Wey which he also really enjoyed! For dinner, he got the Gather burger with fries. On their menu, it says a pile of fries and they mean it!!!!! The fries and burger were so good!! My Korean marinated imperial wagyu was absolutely some of the best steak I have ever had in my life. It was cooked just as I asked for it to be and the flavor was remarkable. We went around 7 PM on a Monday night, and it was not too busy. It is a very elegant and beautiful restaurant inside. Not very loud and we were sat where no one else was around us. It felt romantic and I'm so glad we chose to go on a date here! I have been raving about Gather and wanting to go back to coworkers, friends, and family already. Love the basement growing plants! This is one of my favorite places to go when we make it down to the Old Market. Service is a bit slow, by design I believe, so you can sit and savor. The carrots, buns, buratta, and mushroom toast are all excellent apps. I've heard some fairly good reviews of Gather in Omaha, so I took advantage of a chance to grab a table for two at 5:30 on an August Saturday night. Greeting and seating was prompt, pleasant, and professional. A sign of good staff training. Table service was a similar experience. They appear to be well staffed - an nice situation in this labor market. Gather has a nice menu, not too big and not too small. It abounds in fresh, locally sourced and grown comfort food. In fact, their greens are mostly grown in their own hydroponic garden in their basement - and diner after diner went down the stairs to view it. I selected their Fried Chicken 3 Cheese Mornay Cavatappi Pasta, with House Hot Sauce, Heirloom Tomato Jam, and Texas Pickles. The chicken is two expertly deboned, dipped, breaded, and fried chicken thighs. The seasoning and crispness was spot on! Succulent fried chicken! And as good as the chicken was, the Cavatappi in their house-made Mornay sauce stayed right with it! The unique twist was the delightful Heirloom Tomato Jam that lay beneath the chicken with the Texas Pickles (marinated onions, Fresno chilies, and jalapeños) giving the dish a subtle sweet heat. House Hot sauce was also on the side for a touch more heat. My only disappointment was the hum-drum toasted bread served with the charcuterie board. This happens too often with charcuterie boards - the restaurants serve amazing meats, cheeses, nuts, seeds, etc. but really miss on the bread and cracker quality. Gather did also. But overall, Gather in Omaha is for real and definitely worth a dining investment. read more

We finally checked out the place when we got gift cards from Costco. We brought my mom along for the ride. It was in a cute little spot in Old Market, with a small outdoor space. Seemed to be a neat place to hang out. We made a reservation that started off with them completing the reservation for someone else, so they didn't initially find my name. The server was very nice but she seems a little flustered, which it didn't seem very busy but that's okay. The food was pretty good, there were just things here and there that didn't make them quite perfect which is probably a personal opinion thing. The menu had a good variety of stuff, but I would say it may be a little too "unique" for some people. My mom isn't a big fan of stuff like elk and bison, so it limited some of our choices. The meat part of the pork in the buns was a little dry. The meat to rice ratio was a little off for how much we paid (so much rice!). The noodles seemed a little undercooked and kinda hard to eat because they're so wide. We forgot to take a picture, but we tried the Jackson donut holes for dessert. It was a bit disappointing for what seemed to be a take on a beignet. They were quite large and very doughy/thick, which maybe people like. The berry compote dip had way too much cinnamon, basically felt like a punch in the face. If we come back, we'd definitely try something else.
