Very pleased by my purchase and the service at this GAP! I snagged a dress in the sale section and though it was still a bit pricy I loved the fit enough to splurge. When I went to check-out, the cashier was super friendly and helpful. She helped me check for a GAP rewards account and was patient when my email didn't return results. When I finally got access, she applied all the discounts and rewards cash possible to lower my final total from $50 to just over $30! Many thanks to the sweetest cashier ever! read more

I've been shopping at GAP stores since the early 90s and have become less pleased with them as time has gone on. This review pertains both to the products in general and to this particular store. I find GAP to be a good place to buy jeans, shorts, skirts, sweaters, tees, and tanks; GAP Body is great for workout clothes, lounge wear, and bras. I'm a 36A which is difficult to find in many stores (all about that bass, no treble) but GAP Body stocks plenty of them. I also like the frequent sales and the 10% off on Tuesdays for GAP card holders. Dresses at GAP are an epic fail. Almost every dress is shaped liked a burlap sack: super boxy, with maybe a drop waist if you're lucky. Very unflattering. Their dresses are just not for me, and I always see tons of them on the clearance rack because no one else bought them either. Quality of the clothing is not as good as it was years ago, and the color pallette has become too muted, at least for women's clothing. There's too much of that muted dark blue color in particular. This location, while bright and spacious, suffers in service and cleanliness. The dressing rooms are always dirty and in dire need of a Swiffer. What is the point of having a shelf in the dress room if no one wants to set anything on it because it's covered in dust? There are dust bunnies on the floor too - unacceptable. And no one ever greets me or assists me on the floor. Staff are consistently MIA. So this location is great for shoppers who want to be left alone, but it sucks if you need help finding a size or have a question - good luck finding someone. read more

Gap is Gap no matter where I have visited. It is an A-OK experience. This past visit to the SOS location was not the best in the world but I am going to chalk that one up to it being the holiday season. The staff had to accomodate some of the worst customers I have ever heard in my life, complaining about EVERYTHING! The store was pretty well stocked and organized considering what they were dealing with and the sales are usually pretty great no matter when you visit. It should be noted that I was shopping with a preggo friend and they have a great maternity selection if anyone reading this is interested and is was pretty inexpensive. read more

Baby Gap has been the foundation of most of my toddler's clothing. Thanks to the amazing deals and sales, my little guy has an impressive wardrobe of high quality and design. However, I've since moved to the South and encountered one of the most humiliating and unpleasant customer service experiences at Southpoint's baby Gap. I felt the manager, Meta, was incredibly disrespectful and not helpful regarding a simple request for a price adjustment. I had purchased a pair of sneakers on sale in my son's current size at the store a few days earlier for $3 and change. Because I liked them so much, despite paying more for them online, I went ahead and ordered the same shoes in a larger size for next year from the website because the store no longer had the larger sizes. Because I had receipts from both transactions, I didn't think it would be a problem for the store to provide an adjustment for my online order. However, despite both pairs of shoes being exactly the same item, they apparently had different style numbers (the online and store versions). If the manager had explained this with a pleasant, helpful attitude, I would have understood, but wow, she had no problem displaying poor customer service, disrespect, and an annoyed, frustrated disposition. Even 2 of her coworkers rolled their eyes at this awful manager and apologized to me. I'll be sure never to stop by this store again, and this one experience has affected my overall satisfaction with Gap. read more

I could start this review saying that I started going to the Gap years ago but blah, blah, same ole, same ole. The Gap store at Southpoint Mall in Durham is kinda horrible. I don't know why, it has potential. The space is designed well and it's bright and welcoming. I was in there today. I try and try to like it but, to start, as the last reviewer said, the dressing rooms are gross. It looked like someone tried to clean them (maybe last night) but there is not service to clean, it's someone coming through sweeping. They need to swiffer the heck out of the whole dressing room, there is dust everywhere. The customer service is horrible. I had a millennial helping me today and he seriously gave me a headache. I have no problem with millennials but come on, you're in customer service area talk to the customer like you really care about selling them something rather than you'd rather be doing 10 other things. There were at least 3 other people working in the store and not one of them even made eye contact with me. The millennial helping me only did because I think someone told him to not because he wanted to make a sale. I went in to Gap today to return some purchases I made online. I contemplated driving all the way to Raleigh (Crabtree Mall) but decided I would try Southpoint again. Yet again, I was disappointed. I wanted to exchange the jeans I bought online and the guy helping me could no more pick out a pair of jeans that could fit me than fly to the moon, it was very disappointing. read more

Went into the store today to check out a few things. They have an OK selection for the little ones, but the rest of the store is sparse. My main mission was finding a cute outfit, jeans, a shirt, a dress, anything really for the weekend trip I had coming up. It's one of the few places in the area to get maternity clothes. But alas, they don't like pregnant women! They've nixed their maternity section. AWESOME. So, I really have no reason to go back, knowing how bare bones the store was looking and that they can't even make the TINIEST of efforts to carry maternity clothes. Methinks you are dead to me Gap. Unfortunately this is the only Gap in the area unless you live in Raleigh so I've been going there for a while. Today I was shopping in the baby section when an employee asked if I needed anything. I told her no but did explain that I had held an item two days prior and i wasn't sure where to check on that or if they had already put it back on the shelves since it was longer than 24 hrs. She used her radio to ask, and acted like they would have it at the main counter ready. I assumed it was still held and kept shopping. She came back and said "well how much longer will you be?" Um I'm shopping? But do I need to go now? She then asked what item I held about the time a woman walks over with my babies bathing suit I had on hold and began to lecture me about it being over 24 hrs and they almost put it back. She was very ANNOYED. If this wasn't something I really wanted I would have walked out! I had explained from the start I knew it was past the 24 hrs and may not be there. This prompted me to finally write a post. On the average visit (I used to come once a week prior to baby now once a month) there is never anyone at the register when you want to check out. They are always stocking, walking around talking on headsets. The sale section is always a HOT mess. Very unorganized! As are the dressing rooms. They always have piles of clothes either in the rooms or outside the door. These were all things I could overlook before. Today was the last straw. Buy online people. Gap has the best coupon codes. 40% off right now and shipping is free if you spend 50. Skip this store. read more
