My daughter-in-law and I were looking for dresses to wear at a wedding in Tuscany and went to the Anthropologie store at Streets of Southpoint. We had the best shopping experience here. Not only did they have dresses in her favorite brand, Farm Rio, they also had the nicest and most helpful sales ladies. Ava and Emmy went above and beyond to help us find the perfect dresses. I'm a sucker for Anthropologie even if I can't afford most of the clothing! When you walk in everything is really curated so beautifully! I love browsing all the housewares items. Perfect spot to grab a gift from cookbooks, fancy mugs, aprons, to barware they really do have a little bit of everything. The last time I was in I picked up a few greeting cards, great for wedding showers when the bride gets a whole bunch of Hallmark repeats. Oh and the candles! Man do they have some nice candles, seemingly an endless amount of options. On to the cloths! Now sometimes I think the prices are warranted, but sometimes they seem a bit nuts. They have a decent clearance section and do occasionally have some storewide sales to look out for. Gosh I love this store. I've never reviewed a retail store, but I have to write about this place because I visit it far too frequently not to share my adoration with others. I could come to Anthro every day and still find something new to delight me. A friend told me that I court clothing - that I form a relationship with things before I purchase them - and it's all because of Anthropologie. Everything at Anthro is so unique, so different and with better details than I can find anywhere else I shop. I adore the mix of boho, vintage, feminine styles. My only problem with this place is having to choose between everything I want! The sale room is located in the back, right corner of the store. It's small, and you always end up having to shuffle around the other shoppers (which can be annoying) - but you can typically net some pretty great stuff, at a reasonable price (in comparison to the regular 'wow, this is expensive' prices). As a side note, I usually hate when dressing room staff brings you clothing without being asked to - but at Anthro, it's always worked out well. Some of my favorite things in my closet are Anthropologie staff picks, which I wouldn't have looked at if they hadn't persuaded me to try them on. read more

There's no arguing that Anthropolgie is a beautiful store. I used to clip images from their catalogs as inspiration for my dream house that will definitely consist of Moroccan lamps and gorgeous glazed tea sets. And you know how they say that beauty is pain? Well, if spending money is as painful for you as it is for me, then a shopping trip to Anthro is pretty darn painful. Because you get a birthday discount (15%, woohoo!) with an Anthro card, I always make a special birthday trip to take advantage of it. Putting my blinders up to the full-priced beauty of the rest of the store, I made a bee-line for the sale section...if you can even call it a section. It's really more of a sale *closet*, and the women trapped in said closet are absolutely vicious. I can't say I blame them: everything's forcefully packed in there and the chance of finding the odd item above a size 4 is pretty slim (ha, slim). Warning to the claustrophobic: do not visit Anthropologie on a Saturday. To be fair, I was probably spoiled with the 4-story flagship store in Philadelphia, so my review comes from a comparative viewpoint. But aside from the tiny, disorganized closet of a sale section, the rest of the store was quite nice, and the employees were pleasant as can be. I was happy to leave with a birthday skirt. I'm a big fan of Anthropologie in general. It's so rare to find such cute details on clothing these days, but that won't be a problem with the items here. While their clothes are a little pricier, I usually try to pick out a few quality pieces every year to add a bit of vintage touch to my otherwise very straight-laced, generic work wardrobe. There is a great sale room in the back. Although it's a bit cramped and you'll need some maneuvering skills to share this small space with others, it's totally worth digging through. Besides their clothing line, Anthropologie also carries a good selection of domestic wares/candles/soaps. Great for gifts! So happy that we have one in the Triangle!! I recommend signing up for their card because they give a little something nice for your birthday (at least it's been that way in the past). read more

Whenever I walk into an Anthropologie, I always end up spending double the amount of time I intended to in there. I always get sucked in by the variety of selection and end up doing two laps around the store to make sure I got to see everything. This is hands down, my favorite place for occasion and dress shopping. I regularly stalk the website to see what has come up on the sale page, and if I like it will go down to the room in the back to try things on. I have always had really good luck ordering online as well, but if you check it out online and think you may want to go to the store, do it! You're in for a good treat - but you might spend a little more. The other things I love? The knick knacks and accessories! I always walk out of there also having purchased some kind of book, bracelet, apron, measuring cup, whatever. The signature Capri Blue scent is a staple at my house. Most of the home decor is a little too eclectic for my taste for the price, but I can ALWAYS find something for the kitchen. This is my number one favorite clothing store, but a little too expensive for me to shop here on a regular basis. However, any time I make it out to Southpoint, I always stop in at Anthro and find that I would like to buy at least half of the things available in the store. My favorite thing in the store is the dresses and I own several of them that have been purchased since the Southpoint store opened back in 2009. The clothes seem to be very well-made and are always very pretty & unique. There is a sale room (pretty tightly packed) in the back corner of the store, but I unfortunately don't have too much luck there, since they tend to be out of my size in the things I like. However, there are good deals to be found in the sale area, which is why it is usually the most crowded part of the store. In addition to all of the clothes, they have super cute home stuff. If I wasn't married, I would like my house to look just like an Anthro store with all of the girlie kitchenware, decor and other accessories. I have purchased my last two comforters from the store and have loved both of them. I have also bought (and received for gifts) candles from the store, which make my house smell as nice as the store itself always does. I love this store but make sure you go in expecting to pay above-average prices if you want to purchase any of their non-sale items. I used eat, breathe, sleep, love Anthropologie but then something happened. I can remember things changing for me around 2009 where their styles and quality just didn't have the same oomph to me. I coveted everything here, would even buy it off of Ebay to feed my addiction and then it became so predictable that there was nothing truly unique and special about it. I don't know if them moving the HQ to SC from NY had anything to do with it or not but it was around that time I noticed it just felt so ordinary. And for the prices I was used to paying I paid for having something different yet timeless. Perhaps because similar styles can be found at Modcloth and even Forever21 at times I don't go out of my way to shop here anymore. I do check it out when I'm in the part of the mall but I've never purchased anything. I would like my house decorated in their cutesy, folkloric, shabby chic style but even then I'd prefer to shop on Etsy for something even more esoteric and made in America. The store is pretty, spacious and staged just right. Too bad the clothes just don't do it for me anymore. read more

This is the best chain clothing store out there. Nothing else compares. The store itself has the sophistication of retail stores in large cities have had since the 70s, but which are sorely lacking in our suburbanized sprawl-y Triangle... The clothing has the styling, details and originality that is desperately lacking everywhere else. There are interesting fabrics, interesting concepts, interesting looks -- like clothing used to have. The household and personal items for sale are Brit, Euro, quirky, vintage-y and idiosyncratic in feel, if not in reality. I've been getting the catalog and lusting over the clothes shoes & bags for years. Can't wait to go back. Already made several puchases. I'm absoloutely thrilled that we now have an Anthropologie store!!! It's the best thing going for clothes. Another important point -- there's a PACKED discount room in the back. Check it out, babies. I was here yesterday to try on two dresses I saw online. Drove about an hour from my location. Normally I'm good with remembering names, but I don't recall the name of the woman who helped me in the fitting room area. She was extremely helpful and sweet. Always checked on me with the fittings. Not too crazy about the pricing of clothing, but the items on sale are decently priced. read more

Anthropologie is in the Raleigh area! Shocking to you? It was to me! I have lived in the north east side of Raleigh (WF area) for two years now and e-mailed Anthropologie when I moved to the area asking (begging) them to build a store in the Raleigh (metro) area. They sent me a form letter back and I sadly decided I would just have to order on-line if I wanted any delicious finds for my NC home. While visiting a friend in Durham last week I was shocked to find out that Anthropologie has a new store (Since May) at the Streets at Southpoint! Being from the north-east side of town I had not been to the mall in Durham in a while and could not believe it! We headed on over here on Sunday afternoon and found the store (in all it's glory) right beside of Restoration Hardware. The store has a neat little entry with a flagstone path with pebbles in between the larger stones. The large glass doors were propped open on this sunny day. We entered the store and went to the right, where I noted a table full of clearanced shirts for $9.95. The window displays and art set ups were not as elaborate as they have been in many other Anthropologie locations in NYC, Chicago, Tysons Corner, VA, etc., however this location's size was comparable to the upstairs of the location in DC (Georgetown). They had a nice selection of their clothing, with a good sized clearance room at the back of the store. Women's perfumes, candles, and housewares were interspursed throughout the location. Associates were on-hand and ready to assist as needed. This place is chock-full of unique items that are sure to please the artsiest of collectors and fashionistas alike! What happens when you raid your cool Grandma's house and sell everything with quite a bit of markup? You get Anthropologie. I don't care too much about the apparel items since I'm a guy, but I do like the home decor stuff. I just wish it wasn't so overpriced. That being said, if you like the retro home style with a bit of modern flair you're sure to find something you'll love here. Purchased a $100 sweater and to my horror, I found a hole in it the first time I wore it. I admit: I didn't keep the receipt, but I was hopeful that the store would still allow an exchange or refund, considering the cost of the sweater. Not only did they refuse a refund or exchange, but the salesperson I spoke to was extremely rude when I asked (as if anyone would blame me for asking!). So much for their reputation of being a quality store. In my opinion, crappy customer service = crappy store. Stand behind your product and train your employees to be decent. I love Anthro, and was pretty happy when we got one in Durham. Since it's a pretty large store, and can get super busy on the weekends, I would suggest going during off-hours. They can have some pretty great sales, so head for that back room. The service here is OK, what I have come to expect from chain-stores, which is nothing extraordinary. read more

I decided to call Durham store and was lucky to be connected with this professional sales associate. She took down all three item numbers, size and color and called me back within 15 minutes.
