We pop in every once in a while, especially if me or my wife have a specific wardrobe need. On our recent visit, we were looking for some nice slacks to go with a jacket I got for my daughter's wedding. If we didn't find anything here, we were going to go to the Tanger Outlet Mall in Mebane. Luckily, I did find a good pair of slacks that went with the jacket. This Nordstrom Rack was super packed when we arrived. There was a line from the restrooms to the cashier. There were loads of ppl searching the racks. I didn't look around much but the items I did see didn't strike my attention. All the items seemed pretty bland. My friends found a few things but ultimately decided not to get anything. There was a large crash at the door at the sunglasses display. A man ran in and stole as many sunglasses at he could carry. The employees didn't even flinch or try to stop the man. This must happen often. All in all this visit was a bust but I would definitely check back another time when I'm in the area. Of course it's Christmas season and parking lots are packed with lines long, but this store's line was quick! Just picking up a package the wait wasn't bad at all. The line was moving with great communication from the cue person. The cashiers didn't try to rush you or make you feel bad for being out. It was nice and shows a good management team. I always find things in Nordstrom Rack. The lines are always long and they are rushing. I'm always being asked if I'm a rewards member but I'm never set up when I tell them that I'm not. I shop here a lot, I plan to register the next time. I can shop in peace here and never really see anyone who works here until checkout. The last time I was here the rep failed to put something in my bag that I paid for and I haven't been able to reach them by phone. I plan to drive back up there today. read more

I love this Nordstrom Rack! I always stop in if I'm at South Point. Yes, the store is stock full of stuff and you have to dig, but to me that is what bargain shopping is all about. You really do have to dig for your diamond in the rough. I don't think I've ever walked in here without buying something. On my most recent visit I scored some amazing deals on blazers and a jumpsuit. I googled the jumpsuit and it was still for sale at major department stores and not for a sale price. I call that a major win! Unlike most outlet stores only some of the merchandise goes straight to the rack, you can also find items that were at Nordstrom but for one reason or other made their way to the rack (like my jumpsuit). I think Nordstrom Rack is the best place to find toddler boy shoes! The clothing selection for toddler boy is the worst, on my last visit they literally had nothing. But the visit before I found some great onesies that he wears constantly. I was able to score Adidas toddler mambas for a great price on my last visit as well as Nike's. They had the Nike's I had bought for my son previously at a local store for $20 cheaper. I will seriously only be buying my son's shoes there from now on! Parking gets a little competitive during the holidays. But, it really is a huge lot you just might have to walk a bit from your spot. read more

Nordstrom Rack at the Renaissance Center is fantastic!!! It has all the latest styles from name brands for the best deals and prices for clothing, shoes, jewelry, accessories, and more. Nordstrom Rack has such a huge selection of apparel, it is mind-blowing. I was so happy with the large selection of shoes, for example - I was pleased at how easy it was to find exactly the type of shoe I was looking for - dark brown Nautica ankle boots! I would like to go back to shop for more shoes and clothing! Nordstrom Rack is well-stocked with unique finds, and my visit was like a treasure hunting experience. In addition, I feel like I am getting great deals because they sell quality items at great prices. The store itself is clean and beautiful, and the staff are friendly and warm. It is also located at a prime location at the Renaissance Center, which is a beautiful shopping / dining plaza with a mix of national retailers, contemporary brands, and distinctive shops and dining. Great brands for less, and right across from the full price Nordstrom. So far every employee there I've encountered has been about the nicest sales staff I've found in NC. It's busy. They're ALWAYS restocking and the selection, quality and deals can't be beat anywhere else I've seen in the area without going consignment. read more

A hot mess! I get that this is Nordstrom on a budget, but there was too much product everywhere. And it was so messy - racks, shelves (shoes), wall hanging items (purses, hosiery, handbags) & the housewares section. There were plenty of employee presence, but a lot of them were just standing around. I couldn't even shop ... I literally walked around & looked & walked out. I find it ironic that this Nordstrom Rack is located across from an actual Nordstrom. So if you want Nordstrom fashion for not Nordstrom prices, this is your place. Coming here is always chaotic. The store is not particularly well stocked and if you go on the weekends, it looks like a pack of wild bears have torn through the store I found a few things but most of the store is geared for 16-24 year olds who don't mind cheap-looking trendy crap. This was my first time trying to come here, since I don't live in the area I was excited to see what they offer. We got there at 11:30am and they weren't open said the store system was down. We came back at 3:15pm and still was not open. They were walking around it the store with the lights on and door locked "cleaning". Still said the system was "down". I like Nordstrom Rack a lot! I admit I live right around the corner, so I can afford to spend time shopping around here often. It's best to either shop often or allow some time here to dig around because it can get busy during the weekend. The staff does a great job of moving the line along, though, and are more friendly and chipper than in your average store. Parking is competitive in this shopping center, so be careful and park wherever you can. I like that they have clothing suitable for all ages (but not frumpy) - no need to wonder if I'm too young or old to buy something here. I also love the regular Nordstrom across the street, but can't afford to go there a lot. I am so over shopping at most department or mall stores, but this one is an exception. I kept seeing reviews on Yelp about this place and after seeing some of the finds my daughter bought here I figured I'd check it out since I was next door at World Marker. It's pretty much a TJ Maxx (but not as nice) with a hit or miss selection. There is a reason this stuff shows up here because it didn't sell well in their retail store. And I can see why a lot of it didn't sell and probably won't. I went through every rack but didn't find a thing that I wanted to take home. I did see a pretty leather jacket then remembered I don't wear leather lol. They had a few cute Kate Spade handbags but not much of a discount. The shoes were not very organized and frankly the place just look dark and dank like some place you'd get pulled off from a NYC street with promises of unbeatable deals. The staff were only present at the registers and it seemed like the store just ran itself with very little thought to merchandising. In a word. Ugly. I'd probably stop in if I'm in that part of Southpointe but it's definitely not destination shopping. read more

I completely agree with Nikki K. This Nordstrom Rack is like a Ross or TJ Maxx - a store with no-name brands and higher price points than stores that carry those same brands. I've been to a Nordstrom Rack in San Francisco and that's what I was expecting here. I should learn to lower my expectations for discount high-end clothing stores here in the Triangle. This NR is basically garbage and were it not for Rebecca Taylor, Rebecca Minkoff, Vince, and Milly, it would be a complete wasteland. Don't even bother with the shoe section - what a joke! Marshall's has a better shoe selection. Even NR's "designer" section only has one brand that I care about - Elizabeth & James. Now that the vitriol has been set forth, I will say that the staff is pleasant and that the small selection of name brand things they do have is good. However, the prices are not as discounted as you would think and you can find the same things for a better price online. Verdict: Don't. Nordstrom Rack is pretty cool - it's kinda like the Century 21 stores around NYC - name brands on the cheap. I am very tall (for a girl) and I wear a rather large shoe size (11.5 or 12). Well, for some reason, so-called shoe stores don't seem to care about tall girls (I'm looking HARD at YOU, DSW)! Among us tall girls, Nordstrom Rack is known as THE best place to find designer shoes in larger sizes. And yes, opening day, I picked up an incredibly cute pair of heels. My other major score was an adorable Marc by Marc Jacobs headband. I didn't really look at clothes... but my sisters did. They didn't get much and seemed to think it wasn't as good as the other Nordstrom Rack's they have been to. I agree, it is a lot smaller. But with all the ladies in the Triangle, I know this place will constantly be changing stock! read more

One of the better Nordstorm racks that opened up! I love how its new and clean so far with a huge section for shoes that are in the boxes and unlike the one in michigan where its one shoe. There needs to be more volume but so far its great. Tons of the staple clothes...true religions, tory burch, sevens..shoe wise if they have better brand it would be a bit nicer...hrnm.... not as much dresses, bcbg, etc as other places The organization for the shoes was pretty good in general with a huge designer section in the middle and then by sizes and the sporting shoes and boots were seperated from the pack. The line builds up pretty fast for the most part but they were able to grab a lot of extra people for that area. read more

I love coming here when I'm not looking for anything in particular and often find great things, but it definitely helps to know when they have sales. I got lucky yesterday and walked in during a huge clearance sale. I had a few things in mind that I needed (sandals, dresses, a gym bag) and found some great deals. A word of advice: grab one of them shopping carts. My arm was getting seriously tired from holding all the things I wanted to try on. You can sign up for their card. They offer 2 options: a credit card and a debit card, linked to your bank account. If you like the store and go there often, you could save some cash that way. I'm probably going to get the debit card next time I go. The fitting room is clean and the personnel is helpful and courteous, although I wouldn't want to ask them go find me another size. The store is huge and the racks are plentiful. I have not shopped at the men's section, but it looks pretty good. Nice looking shirts and suits and whatever else dudes wear. They do in-store alterations if something doesn't fit quite right, that's pretty awesome. Home goods section is small, but has some really stylish stuff, perfect if you are looking for gifts. I acquired two large Lacoste beach towels for $15 each. Heck yeah. There's a section of cosmetics that sometimes has mountains of surprising stuff, such as Philosophy face wash - my favorite, and Urban Decay eye makeup base. That stuff is magic, makes your eye shadow stick and stay all day. You should go get some right now. I love their jewelry section. The other day I saw an entire rack of Kate Spade earrings and necklaces. So pretty and affordable at $20-40. Never found anything I like in the bag section, but I am very specific about my purses and wallets. They do have such nice brands as Kate Spade, Tory Burch, Michael Kors, etc. The shoe section is hit or miss, but, like the rest of the store, it gets updated frequently. Check back often and you'll be sure to find a gem. Overall, a great store, on par with Saks Off 5th, but you don't have to drive all the way to Mebane. A huge step up from TJ Maxx and Marshall's, much better quality, but also higher prices. I don't mind paying for quality though. What I like the most is variety. You can get a pair of Nine West shoes for $40 or Tory Burch for $180. There are $15 sports bras and $600 leather jackets. You never know what treasure you are going to find. read more

Incredible deals on brand name clothes and shoes. On our one and only visit there, I scored big-time and picked up an $8 black skirt, a $37 wrap dress, and a $15 long-sleeved tee. My husband also picked up a pair of Cole Haan dress shoes for $60, down from an original $200. Warning: when we visited on a Sunday afternoon, the line for the women's change room was at least a dozen women long at any time. That being said, the lines (for both change rooms and check out) move surprisingly quickly. NR still has some advertising kinks to work out, though. A rack full of duster cardigans were advertised at "$59.97 or less" even though their price tags said $99.97. When I brought it up to the register, they had to do a price-check and later came back to tell me that the sign was incorrect. Despite the minor issues, I'll be returning frequently to check out new merchandise and sales. read more

I'm a huge fan of Nordstrom Rack but this location leaves a lot to be desired. In San Diego and LA, I did most of my shopping at Nordstrom Rack but it seems like the inventory at this location is completely different. Most of the women's clothes look cheap and they don't have any decent athletic clothes. I do think the selection of men's clothes is better than the women's. My significant other has had a number of good finds here including a North Face jacket for $40. If you are female and are looking for clothes, don't waste your time. Go somewhere else. read more

Ditto. Just like everyone else who has been in here. When I lived in NOVA I was about 5 miles from NR and used to head in there anytime I needed some new shoes. Wearing a size 11 its hard to find decent shoes in my size and NR in NOVA always had something I needed. I've gone into the NR in Durham about 10 times now and cannot ever find any shoes in this place. The sections are about half the size of the store I used to visit, and what is there is just the same shoes duplicated, and triplicated! I saw it once, it was hideous, no need for another one! Also, there is a lot of crap in here that is damaged, but still way too pricey! This is not the Goodwill store, so nothing in here should be torn, ripped, have holes in it, or be over dyed etc. for just 50% off. Come on now! I do give them two stars because I was able to get a pretty amazing pocket book when they first opened, but cannot give them anything more than that as it seems like it is just going down hill. read more

Most big box stores' discount alternatives have dicey selections, and so-so decor. Nordstrom Rack is a wee bit above the fray. I've found some good Calvin Klein pjs for a decent price. Recently, facing a safari in the wilds of job search, I picked up a couple of dashing good blazers for interviews. Basic blue, and a nice Calvin Klein gray linen/rayon/poly number. Both will serve me well, total price out the door a jaw-dropping $185. Sales associate told me I can return them in 90 days with a receipt. Okay enough of my haul boasting. The layout of the store is good, with plenty of sales associates to help. Like Apple stores, wandering associates can check you out where you stand with mobile devices. Cool, eh? Surprising for a "discount store." You have to examine the clothes well, and the fit -- there can be some stinkers among the jewels. Parking on this end of the lot is usually pretty good, don't have to search too hard (try around the corner near the mall's side entry). Rack is close to Massage Heights (ahh), Moe's (meh), and Ted's Montana Grill (yay), walking distance if your shoes aren't killing you. read more

I agree with some of the reviewers that I expected this store to be nicer and that it reminds me more of a Marshalls or TJ Maxx. Isn't this supposed to be upscale from that, even as a discount store? Maybe my expectations are unfair. But yeah, not much different. Maybe I don't know that much about fashion, but we found some nice things here around Christmas. We were shopping for our Christmas adopted family and found better quality items here for a competitive or better price to what we saw at JC Penney, Rack Room Shoes, or Target. That's gotta be worth some stars, I think. My wife also found a trench coat that she had been seeking for a long time, so thumbs up. We even let it sit for a day and came back and it was still available. The store was kind of sloppy in some sections, but I come to expect that in discount stores, especially during the Christmas shopping crunch. Let me start by saying I am not the biggest fan of outlet stores unless they are well organized. Unlike a lot of bargain hunters, I do not enjoy digging through messy racks and bins full of discounted merchandise to try to find something I like. However, I do love Nordstrom and decided to check this store out on a recent trip to Southpoint. I have been to a few other Nordstrom Racks in different locations in the past and have had some success at a few. This particular location did not look as nice inside as others I have been to, but I was still willing to give it a shot. This store is large with a decent selection of clothes and shoes. The handbag section was smaller than I expected. As I mentioned before, I am not very patient at digging through racks, so I was not crazy about how the clothing was arranged. Other branches of this store I have been to in the past have had their clothes organized by designer, so I could quickly figure out where to find the French Connection, BCBG, Marc Jacobs, etc. However, if outlet stores are your thing and you don't mind searching through racks of clothing organized primarily by size, you will probably like this store. Unfortunately, I walked away from the store empty-handed, but did see several pairs of shoes that I liked. Personally, I probably stick with the regular Nordstrom across the street. read more

Sometimes there are some great scores here, sometimes not. My favorite finds include a cute pair of snakeskin Cole Haan slip-on sneakers (similar to vans, but fancier), a black leather Rebecca Minkoff swing purse (perfect size, I use it daily), and a set of 6 smashbox waterproof always sharp kohl liners (my fave liners, and I think it was only $18 for the set, which is less than the cost of one liner, such an amazing value). Sure there are some days I walk away having found nothing, but I use all three of the above mentioned items pretty much daily. I've had those liners for months and have only just started on the second liner too. If you have a Nordstrom debit or credit card, you can use your note here, and it feels like a big win to walk away with an even deeper discount. read more

I really love this place and I don't say that often. Everytime I've been here I've found something great. Shoes selection is actually better than other shoe stores around. Workout clothes is slightly sparse but the quality and selection of styles is pretty good. It's pretty clean and racks are organized well. Staff is super friendly, returns, exchanges, etc is easy. I've had loads of clothes in my hand and one member offer to put it somewhere so I wouldn't have to hold it. I really like their selection of stuff to be honest. You really can't get a place where you can find good, nice quality stuff for reasonable prices in one spot. I shop at Nordstrom too and service is great there as well but I find the articles of clothing at the main store to be more bland. Rack is really great for needing to find a quick shirt/shoe/or something quickly. The really friendly service makes it worth it. I think because the people aren't pushy. They ask if you need help in a social manner and try their best to make it right. Times when things are placed on the wrong rack they've honored prices and if that isn't great customer service I don't know what is. Also did I mention the prices are awesome? I didn't want to give 5 stars because I don't feel "woohoo as good as it gets", but seriously I don't have any reason to subtract one. I bought a belt, pocket square, and tie, and my wife purchased a dress. The lines for the dressing room and check out were very long, but things moved quickly. I am all about the Rack. I've grown my Hugo Boss collection tenfold by carefully shopping here. For guys, the particular selection seems to be in golf shirts, slacks, and dress shirts. John Varvatos, Boss, Calvin Klein, Faconnable, and Kenneth Cole are generally the most represented designers. You can really find some amazing deals here, including great-quality Nordstrom socks for $2.97. Their tailor, Sue, is an adorable little miracle worker. Make sure to get a Nordstrom card and join the rewards program for $100 a year worth of free alterations. read more

Great place to buy quality clothing at discounted prices. Large selection of Men's shirts with brands such as Ecco Homme, Bugatchi, Volcom, and Ben Sherman plus lots of Nordstrom brand. Prices are higher than other discounters, but this is quality stuff. $20-$50 will get you a very nice dress shirt, and you can go higher in price if you'd like. Most items are 30% to 50% of retail, but given that no one charges retail, the savings advertised on the tags is a little inflated. Plenty of ties, socks, pants, sport coats, shoes, etc and helpful staff who are there if you need them, but who let you shop quietly without being pestered. Like most discounters, the clothing is hung without much order other than by size and sleeve length, and as you go from rack to rack you'll find duplicates. My wife tends to linger longer than I do which leads me to think their ladies clothing selection is also good, if not better, than the mens. She usually leaves with several items, as do I. They also play good music while you shop, pretty much indie bands who have broken into the mainstream, which makes you feel as if you are shopping someplace hip, even though you are simply in a large box in strip mall near the big shopping mall in SW Durham. There's no attempt at matching the interior of the store to the quality of style they are peddling. Selection turns over slowly, so this is not the place to visit often as you'll likely find the same clothes as last month. Worth a visit every four to six months. read more

Good selection of men's clothes, not so impressed with the selection of women's clothes, good purses and the best part is they have size 12 shoes! Whoo hoo!
