So this took the place of our local KFC in like a matter of one month. CRAZY fast. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME. I've been there three times to date and it is such an improvement over the KFC. A better vibe for one, it looks way cleaner for another, better service, and OMG the food! I hear this place is a chain. I have friends who've eaten at a Pick Pockets in florida and such but I've never been to one and even the description. Greek food. (blah olives! Weird meats like lamb! There is even a pita pocket on the sign and I have nightmares about pita from summer camp as a child. BLAH!) But listen well, locals will find this basically a D'angelos that stocks from a more Mediterranean place with some even some Sandys thrown in. I've have the chicken kabob twice and it has been fabulous and then I had the next thing on the menu under chicken. Also fabulous. The veggie chili is the best I ever tasted EVER. And when I was there they were even selling Baklava in pistachio and walnut which were both GAH! DELICIOUS! So I guess I love it. So why not 5 stars? Well, like D'angelo the prices add up quickly (Like $7 for a delicious sandwich) and the options for sides are really kinda small. I say give this a try! I've been to Pick Pockets several times now. THE FOOD IS AMAZING. It's a unique twist on the sandwich to go Subway style restaurant. They serve all kinds of wraps, subs and sandwiches, along with some Greek staples like hummus and falafel. I highly recommend trying a Beef Falafel Wrap, it's really really good. I would definitely have given Pick Pockets 5 stars if it weren't for the service. I'm sure you get a different experience depending on what time you go to Pick Pockets, but, I'm warning you right now, lunch time is not the time to go. Especially in the summer, when all the tourists are here. The place is PACKED. The workers are going as fast as possible, but visibly frustrated and overwhelmed. The first time I went there I was quite intimidated by the entire experience. Before I came here, several friends of mine had the same complaint: the service needs a little improvement. (I realize that lunch time is the busiest time of day for Pick Pockets, but a little patience and understanding could do wonders for the customer experience.) This place would rank more stars if it weren't for the unhelpful, rude and aloof workers behind the counter and the lack of a kids menu. If you don't know what you want to order you better figure it out yourself because the girls behind the counter can't be bothered with questions. Forget it if you want to modify your food, that's like an ultimate sin. I've actually had them roll their eyes at me on more than one occasion. This service is the one thing that stops me visiting more frequently. Their sandwiches are really good, I've tried quite a few and they never disappoint. The pita bread is always delicious and chewy and the sauces are very good also. They have a pretty accommodating menu, you can get chicken fingers and fries for the kids. Unfortunately, they don't have actual kids portions. Overall it seems kind of uppity and not very kid friendly. This was a tough one.... There aren't a ton of choices in the area, so if you want falafel, this is it. I had a wrap, which was not wrapped properly (just kind of rolled) and filled with some type of drippy dressing, so it was a complete mess. I got red peppers (which I can't eat) instead of tomatoes. The falafel was pretty tasty. We had onion rings, which were kind of underfried and not at all salted (meh). If I went back, I'd try the falafel again and skip the onion rings. read more

I love Pick Pockets! I visited their Wakefield location when I worked in that area. I was overjoyed to find the Westerly location ( since it's closer to my home). I absolutely love their chicken falafel wrap. I rarely get anything else - except for the pasta salad and fatoosh. Absolutely the best food. I can't say the food tastes bad at all, HOWEVER, when I call in a to go order and clear state that I don't want chicken gyro, I want a beef gyro, and then I get a chicken gyro... there is clearly a problem. But I don't mind mistakes, and so I called and spoke of my slight issue and asked if it could be toasted, and then the child confirmed yes, I reinstated I would like my BEEF gyro TOASTED. I received a completely cold, sloppy, half made sandwich. Mind you I am at work, so my girlfriend went TWICE to pick up the food for me. SO, IN CLOSING... if you DON'T care about order accuracy or care in product presentation, attention to detail, quality representation, or anything else that makes a company worth revisiting... this is the place for you, but I will not be back. read more

I will say this is my go to "fast food" place. The food here is very fresh and a much healthier option than McDonalds, Subway or Wendy's. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I usually order a chicken caesar salad or a chicken falafel. The caesar dressing they use is not the creamy type, so if you prefer the creamy caesar you may be disappointed. I myself like this more traditional type of dressing. It's very tangy and flavorful. The falafel is the best I've had anywhere. It is fresh a flavorful. Nothing even comes close. We have had take away on several occasions. My wife swears the hummus and tubule are first rate. I have had the flounder wrap or grinder. It is excellent (go for the grinder). The tartare sauce is home made and the best I have had anywhere. They also have great salads. I also tried the gyro. As far as I can tell, no lamb was included. The meat was strips of beef cooked on a cooktop. It should be seasoned Donner. Very disappointing, as it had no flavor. Overall: fresh food, good quality, very clean atmosphere. Just skip the gyro. Pick Pockets is a great local place. Such great, fresh food at a pretty decent price. For me, it's not an everyday place to stop, but once in a while, it's the perfect treat. I decided to stay safe and get the Chicken Club Wrap. It is really delicious. The pita bread is so good and the chicken very tender and flavorful. The cheerful young lady behind the counter was helpful and sweet. It is rare that you actually get greeted with a smile. I will be coming back more often. My order had multiple issues. The staff were not the most welcoming, they were not polite, and they kept glaring at us. Some of the workers' masks were below their noses and they did nothing to fix it. I got a chicken Caesar wrap and the chicken in it had blue spots. Pretty sure that's not normal. On top of that, my children did not receive the drink that came with there meals that we paid for. All in all I will not be returning to this establishment and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I was just starting a new job in Westerly and decided to hit this place up on a whim. I've had their steak and cheese wrap, which was phenomenal if you ask for mozzarella added, and their gyrofalafel was bomb as well. Their fries make the Irish in me smile as well. They had cute servers and one with some ink even which made me smile because I support any business that allows their employees to express themselves with tattoos. The big man behind the counter always makes me feel welcome by keeping the place feeling loose and relaxed. This place is my go to when I think about lunch at work. Worth every penny. read more

This was the worst lunch I've had in a very long time. Not only were they rude, but there were barely any options. No sandwich bread. No wheat wraps (they were all frozen), no spinach wraps. When I said I'd have my sandwich on a regular white wrap, they brought out the entire package and tried to give me that. I eventually got a turkey club, but there was 1 slice of turkey with 6 pieces of nasty, dry bacon and extra bits falling out. It was slathered in mayo and the wrap tasted stale. There is something on the menu for all tastes...it's not just falafel. I would call it a Lebanese-Greek-American hybrid! Falafel or The Works are our favorite veggie wraps with crunchy lettuce, delicious falafel and hummus as good as it gets. On the larger menu, Beef Gyro with a nice tangy tzaski is very good as is the more American Chicken Caesar wrap. The Jumbo Plate is a great choice for two or one hungry guy and includes hummus, tabouleh, fatoosh (tomato and cucumber salad) and your choice of meat, falafel, or eggplant. The BLT is a no-brainer...fresh and tasty. We also like the take-out containers of pita chips, or just a snack of a half-pint of hummus with a few fresh pieces of pita bread. Today we tried the pistachio baklava and it was SO good. Also offered a traditional walnut baklava cut into about a 2 inch square for $1.25...great little bite to end the meal. TRY IT! read more
