The person who assisted me at the counter was knowledgeable and helpful, not pushy. They were honest, from what I could tell and gave options when looking at buying a used Switch game. Scott has an extremely standoffish manner on the phone when dealing with unimpressed customers and this instance was no different. I want readers of this complaint to note that the device's box actually has listed in not one, but THREE entirely different areas. These notices clearly indicate total compatibility of Games and save data between the PS4 & PS5 but this is clearly false, as I have just recently become aware that the HDD GameStop sold me does not have enough power to store anything PS5 related... This is an error on GameStop's behalf, and I will escalate accordingly until GameStop or an associated party provides me a satisfactory solution. I will be mailing a copy of this negative, 1-Star Review to GameStop's Corporate Headquarters in Grapevine, TX. I went to trade in my controllers for the stick drift trade in special. It took them 40 minutes to see me despite only one person being ahead of me in line. Most of this eating was the associate and the customer just chatting about random stuff like the German Autobahn. At one point, the other associate was freed up and was able to help me. Instead of doing this she made eye contact with me and told her associate she is going to "hide in the back". I missed my movie tbat I bought a ticket for already because of this incompetence. On top of all this, they were only willing to give me $18 for a $70 controller despite how the trade in special is advertised. The person in front of me was trading in an Xbox one in great condition and about 20 games for it. They quoted him $220 which is FAR below the value of those item. I informed the person that they could make way more through eBay or market place. They informed me they needed the money now for their bills. So it seems GameStop was taking advantage of this guys necessity to rip him off. Another thing I observed while in the store that shocked me was a woman was buying a PSN gift card for her nephew but didn't know how much on month would cost. The associate flat out told her "I play Xbox I don't know you need to know the amount". She kept rolling.l her eyes and being snippy with this lady who was just trying to buy a present for her family. The young person with green hair who stepped in to help a customer after another associate couldn't answer their questions was terribly rude to the customers. The first associate was tall, short hair, facial hair and looked/sounded like a male. There was literally no indication of how he identified, no name tag, no pronoun label, so no way for the customer to know. When they asked for the first person's name so that they would reach back out later as requested, they referred to the person as him. The green haired girl raised her voice in a very angry way to correct the customer 3 or 4 times. It was absolutely uncalled for, she was rude. Chris, our cashier, was really great & informative. If we only dealt with him, I would've left 4 or 5 stars. Megan, however, is probably the least pleasant retail employee I've come across in a very long time. She's awful. We were trading in my husband's old Xbox & some games to put towards a new console. Chris was examining the Xbox & Megan came over, grabbed it for maybe 2-3 seconds, yelled "DEFECTIVE" & walked away. With our multiple trade-ins, it was a long transaction. Megan stood at the front, complaining to herself loudly about how the employees last night "didn't do anything" & ignored the line of other people needing to be rung up. She helped one group the entire time we were there, about a half hour. She also stepped in again & interrupted Chris, telling him what to do, to which he said what she told him to do is what he was already doing. Leave him alone, let the man do his job & go back to whatever it was you were doing, Megan. Jeez. Poor Chris. When I got home I noticed that the controller sounded like it had a broken piece inside that would rattle around. I brought it in the next day thinking it would be a easy exchange. I came here to just get a couple Xbox gift cards, and when I was checking out there were two male employees. One with dirty blonde shoulder length hair who had filed their nails down to be sharp at the ends. The other one who I presume was the one in charge had black hair, black facial hair, and glasses. I'm best at remembering faces not names lol. The dirty blonde (I'll call DB) asked if I wanted to be part of their membership, he was saying his dialogue bout the benefits and such, which I have nothing against because I've worked at Tillys before and know it is expected (most cases required) to go through that. But I politely declined, and he went on bout how with how much Im spending Id basically be getting another one for free or something like that. But I told him I don't come here often enough to validate signing up for a (PAID) membership (and I really don't, first time in literally 3 years and it was for gift cards lol) and he literally told me "okay, well it's your money, so your loss" and I bit my lip (luckily behind the face mask) and then his manager came in and started hammering down on the sale too. I don't remember every word said but I do remember leaving that store never wanting to show up again. I left with a lot of anxiety and an unforgettably negative memory of that place. Visited on Black Friday and they didn't open till 6 pm which was cool so their workers had time to be with family before coming into work. At 6pm a store cashier comes outside the store and says that they are having technical difficulties and could not ring anyone up yet, took about an hour and forty-five minutes for their registers to come back online. Staff was freaking out luckily customers were really calm. Overall my experience was good, except when an employee snatched a game out of my hand to try to give it to someone else. I let my Cahsier know what the employee did and they quickly corrected the situation. I think 1hr and 45mins is too long to let your customers wait. They should have handed out vouchers to us to come back and redeem the items we wanted with the deal later or should have given us some kind of additional discount/gift card to compensate for our time. read more

This is a Gamestop. As expected, everything about this business is intended to rip off consumers. Promo deals have hidden addendums. For example, they sent me an email that I could trade in my Xbox one for $175 because I ordered a Nintendo switch. This would've been great before I ordered so I could apply it to my order. I brought it in anyway hoping to get some games. They sent me back because I didn't bring an HDMI cable and controller. This wasn't included in the email. So, I went home and got it. They knocked $50 off the price because of extremely minor scratches on the outside. That's ridiculous. This whole experience reminded me why I haven't been to one of these stores in several years. It also makes me happy that most games can be bought and downloaded in e stores, and Amazon prime made it cheaper and more convenient to buy hardware online. I'd rather go to Game Haven for my used gaming needs, or a different store for my new games. Their prices sure aren't anything worth writing home about and the selection is mediocre at best. I don't particularly care for the layout, and while some of the employees are knowledgeable, many of them really couldn't care either way. I guess that's the hazard of any shop in the mall, but I know I can be needy and talkative in these types of scenarios, so this just doesn't cut it for me. I managed to find a couple used games here and a charger for my wii-motes, prices were fine but not outstanding. I am disabled physically and so is my friend who is also mentally and physically disabled. We were there today on 3/08/2022 and had called first a few days to get a black WII remote sent to that store in Tigard Oregon in the Washington Square Mall and was told that we could call another store and get this WII remote black sent to that store and that they would hold it for us. This store lied to us and we went that day at 12pm and were sold this remote was sold to someone else and that we could not get this WII remote sent there from another store. I should of known that when they did not take mine or my friends name that they were not going to hold the remote for us. I am afraid of ordering it online because the reviews of this WII remote were really really bad. My friend tried new batteries 3 times and still the black remote would not work for him. We do not drive and take the Lift Disabled bus. I am afraid of going all the way out to Hillsboro Oregon because I feel the same thing will happen and it will be a wasted trip. I should not even order it online because the reviews of this item are terrible. The Washington Square store in Tigard the employees were rude and did not even try to help us much. I may check the Petercourt Game Stop when I go next door to Rite Aid to pick up my 2 meds later this weekend. I did not know that game remotes were this popular and that there are still thousands and thousands of WII game systems out there and this store knew that they would sell it immediately.
