Today I had a rather complex purchase/exchange I needed done, and Angel couldn't have been more helpful. He was very professional in how he handled everything. It's the type of thing us regular customers like to see. That way to run a business is perfect. This is easily my favorite place to get used books, CDs, and DVDs.

They also have a large selection of Japanese manga too which I've not seen at other stores and was cool to see! We browsed their games and Pokemon cards as well. They had a lot of consoles and handhelds. They had a lot of dvds and blueray. Their regular book selection was extensive though I didn't look too much as it wasn't why I was there and my husband and kids were wanting to go get dinner. Overall while it was a very cool place, I feel like the pricing left a lot to be desired. Most of the manga I came across that I was interested in were priced very close to or at MSRP and the figures were disappointing bc every single one that I recognized and happened to know the going price on was significantly higher than it should be -- even super used ones that had no box were priced higher than you could get them for brand new! So even though I wanted to take the time to dig through the chaos and find a gem it made me hesitant bc i figured that even if I did find something I wanted, the odds were likely that it would be marked well over its value

I like this shop because it's very convenient when you're shopping here and they are always nice and helpful. If you don't find what you're looking my for, they are happy to order for you to be delivered or pick up. Moderate prices and sometimes they have a good selection of clearance items on sale. I really like the staff here. I always feel welcome and have a good experience.

NERDY NEEDS! (4 stars)…read more GameStop has always been such a cool store. Even cooler during the pandemic to purchase the needs to keep occupied and safe. And even cooler when trading options on meme stocks and making some cash flow! - New games, preowned games. And occasional deals such as buy 2 preowned get 1 free. - New and preowned equipment. The preowned is in petty good shape if you are looking to save some money. - They sell random retail nicknacks for those toy enthusiasts. I never considered myself a gamer until the pandemic. I played games virtually with friends, strangers, myself. I bought all the gadgets... The Switch, Meta Oculus Quest, and was fine not being outside (or physically social). Overall, I like coming in and buying myself a video game when my introvert side hits hard. What I noticed lately, they no longer give out plastic bags. I get it the new California rule but it would be nice to have tiny paper bags or something. I had asked them to tape the receipt to my game as I'll be walking into other stores that sell the same product. It's weird carrying an open item without a bag. But carrying my video game around the mall sparked random small chitchats with workers in other stores. Talking about a video game sure beats talking about the weather. Until the next review...

The staff was very helpful and super friendly. Prices were great. We went to see a friend at an event and it just happened to be Comic Book day. Hubs found another "happy place" in SD County!…read more Knowhere G&C is located in an industrial area of San Marcos, near an antique mall, several home furnishings stores and next to San Marcos Deli. This seems an ideal location, with plenty of free parking and, judging by the flow of pedestrian traffic in and out of this shop on a "Comic Book Wednesday" many customers agree. Hubs declared a large selection of comics, games and collectibles. He proudly emerged over an hour after parking with a smile on his cute nerdy face and a bag filled with reading materials in his hand. He was very surprised and happy that his purchase amount ~$80TL awarded him with a cool graphic novel. Happiness shortly turned to a bit of confusion when he took a moment to peruse his receipt and discovered he had been charged about 4x the amount he should have been for a comic. He checked online to make sure he didn't grab a ltd edition, or special release, and determined he hadn't. I waited while he returned inside. About 10 minutes he reemerged - HAPPY AGAIN! Seems the clerk, Daniel (guessing from the receipt ), didn't catch it and agreed it had been incorrectly priced. He further apologized saying he usually catches the comics over $20 and confirms the customer is aware when they are purchasing a more expensive issue. So Daniel was sorry he missed that completely. Hubs confirmed that he was still ok receiving the free graphic novel and was assured, yes, his purchase amount still qualified for the free novel. The over charge was returned to Hubs and he was happy with the store, Daniel and his customer service. Knowhere G&C has been bookmarked for our future SD road trips. Cheers! "CC"
