We discovered this Target by accident. We normally go to the one on Balboa. This location seems a little smaller, but has everything you'll need. We weren't familiar with the layout, but we enjoyed wandering around looking at everything. They are a nice retail shopping for household items as well as groceries. You can find clothing for the family, linens, holiday decorations, cards, shoes, toys, household supplies, towels, to fresh foods to frozen foods. Like all stores, they have sale ads. You can order online and have things shipped to your home. They even have store credit cards. We do not use them. Look for the sales or clearance items to save a few dollars. Overall, it was a fun adventure shopping for a few items. There were employees stocking a few items. Some were facing the shelves. They were friendly. I know they have bathrooms, but we didn't go there. They have a decent sized parking lot. read more

I love all Target stores!!! This Target is smaller than the others but we don't mind! They have a Starbucks inside, plenty of carts, helpful & friendly staff. They offer military discounts on Veterans Day & they always have some sort of Target Circle deal I benefit from! You can shop online for in store pick up or you can opt for delivery. We love the kids clothes and I love the adult clothing section. Groceries here are typically fresh, they don't have a lot of organic options. Try them out, they have just about anything you may need from dog food, school supplies, to vitamins. read more

Self checkout had no workers helping customers who need assistance. One of my items was getting flagged because it was only $0.00 when scanned. I was waiting for more than 5 minutes and nobody came, so i asked the guy working at the register next to self checkout. He didn't bother helping me and told me if i want i can wait for him to finish with EVERYONE in line for regular checkout. The people behind me already checked out and i was still waiting for my item to get checked. The reason why i couldn't check out was because the item i wanted was listed as $0.00 in their store, so they had to manually input in the price of the item. I should've not done self checkout in that case, if i would've gotten out of the store with regular checkout. read more

Target is just great for many reasons. 1. Easy returns, with red card (do not need paper receipt). You get 120 days with red card or 90 days if you buy on your own credit card or cash. 2. Clearance and sale items always available. How can you not buy anything? 3. Large variety and selection of stuff. 4. You can buy groceries! You have CVS pharmacy there. You might even have Starbucks, Pizza Hut, etc. 5. You can now buy "brand" makeup like Ultra and Mac. 6. It has convenient scan stations throughout the store to check the price. 7. It has great hours. Opens early and closes late. Downsides: 1. Stuff is too high. Do not display the girls items on really tall racks where short adults and short kids cannot reach them! 2. It can get really busy on weekends (and during holidays). Best to go in mornings if you can. read more

As far as targets go this is your typical spot. The parking can be tricky of its your first time because it shares a parking lot with Costco Business Center. The staff are crabby which i cant blame them , because as a customer i am crabby i have to wait on them to come unlock cabinets to get basic items like face cream. Despite being the only barista working in this Starbucks she still managed to make my drink while serving other customers in line and running out to deliver drinks at the same time. WOW! I've never experienced a trip like this, EVER! I usually take forever in this damn store. But this was definitely one for the books. I can it to purchase two items, ONLY two items! I found the first one like the big boy I am but needed assistance with the second one. Mr. Carlos was stocking shelves but the personal care and provided the best customer service being kind, patient, and very descriptive with helping me find what I needed. Then I went to go pay and as I got there, they opened another register for me where I was helped by Mrs. Shannon who was also kind and patient. She had asked me about my morning so far and I very much enjoyed this visit. This was also around 1030 so parking was no a struggle either! This is my new and ONLY target I will be going to. WOW this Target is on the outskirts in Kearny Mesa hidden off of the 163 right next to Costco! You will barely notice it driving off the freeway and the local roads but believe me its there! From the outside it looks like a smaller older Target but believe me when I tell you to never judge a book by its cover! Inside is magnificent and it looks like a lot of upgrades have been made especially by the fresh produce and veggie grocery section! Its like no others like I have experienced before. The modern set up of the line items with the bright lights and newly updated shelves and variety sets it off! They have a nicely sized full Starbucks inside with your typical line up provided by Target. Its obvious Target does a better job then the other competitors with the display and cleanliness in the store and customer service is always great. The selection you get here is always top notch and they have a wide variety of products to select from and the wine and beer, alcohol selection is always good to go. Overall awesome Target and location it might be a little beaten off the outskirts but I guarantee you will enjoy this location like no other since its more modernized and provides more options in a newer cleaner environment than no other! read more

I've been coming to this location for quite some time and so far it has been a good experience until today. Normally my partner and I use the self checkout, and sometimes it would be asking for assistance for a certain item, like medicine or etc. A staff would come and scan one of our ID cards and we would go on about our day. There had been multiple instances where we would buy medicine specifically and had this process. Today we we're buying medicine once again and we were waiting for assistance to move forward. This one lady came up to us and for the first time she had asked for both our IDs, which in my opinion was unreasonable since this has never happened before. She told us she can't scan and help us unless I had my physical copy of my ID, and so I had to leave and get it in my car. During this, she decided to help my partner which was waiting for me to come with my ID. She then scans the screen and leaves my partner, which leaves my partner confused and after waiting for time he decides to take his own action and scan his own ID onto the screen. It goes through, the lady comes back, and she makes this whole thing about "you know theres cameras", "that's really rude", and whatnot. Obviously my partner is apologizing but she rolls her eyes and walks away. She clearly wasted our time and it was truly unreasonable. read more

I like this store as it's smaller and easier to find things but they do need to improve picking up on line orders. On Tuesday at noon I went to pick up an order I had placed for a few items. I had to stand in line behind 5 ppl returning items! The on line pick up counter was unmanned by any employees. They were working the return counter. Come on you do a good job of providing this service but it's just wrong to make on line customers who have already paid for the items ordered stand in a long line to get their order. Smaller in scale (store and parking lot) compared to other locations like Clairemont and Mission Valley. At the same time, it's less crowded. Trade-offs. There is a lot of parking and it doesn't get too crazy. Sometimes I am out of the way and near the Mission Valley one Balboa one but I still make the drive back to this one. As a new Mom, it can be incredibly intimidating getting out going shopping. This trip I made had been the second time I went out with my son. I can tell my cashier Shannon, knew I was a bit nerve wrecked as I struggled to put items on the conveyor belt with one hand, baby in tote in the other. When she saw me reach for my second item, she stopped me & stated it would be no problem for her to help me. Shannon then proceeded to take my 15-20 items out, scanning & bagging, then placing them back into my cart. As I was finishing the checkout she shared with me how difficult she knows it is because she has children of her own. Shannon then asked me if I needed help to my car (absolutely, I almost always need help these days). When I said yes, she called overhead & made sure there was another associate to come help me with my bags to my car. I can't begin to express how thankful & grateful I am for Shannon going above & beyond this day. It not only gave me confidence to get out more with my son, it reminded me that exceptional service exists & so does human kindness. I have only been here a couple of times but I have always been happy here. The location has great parking and the store itself is a good size with ample variety. I am always in the grocery section of target and I was able to get everything I needed for the week here. The staff is always friendly here and I have never had any issues. Maybe it was an off day for this woman, but I stopped by to return 1 item of clothing today on a Monday around 5:30pm where there was low traffic...not once did she provide eye contact and didn't really say a word except for what am I in line for. I even asked how has your day been? She ignored me and just continued to process my return and just handed my receipt back. I'm a manager in retail and this made me feel uncomfortable. This is an older location that I've visited before . Not a lot of bells or whistles but no matter . Staff doesn't seem too friendly or interested in helping customers. I wasn't looking for anything specific . Their inventory was ok. Not a lot of sale or clearance items . There just wasn't much that caught the eye . There's a small produce area as well as meats and such. I found two pairs of ballet flats $12.99 each that I decided to purchase . Self check out station was easy . Someone plz give Abraham in electronics a raise. He is the most patient Target employee I have ever met. I was trying to buy a switch for my brother's bday and just recently received a new credit card that has not yet been mailed but can be used through Apple wallet. Let's just say since it was my second purchase on the card, and the switch is pretty expensive, that my bank thought the transaction was fraud looool. After calling my bank twice until they fixed the Apple Pay issue, Abraham was really patient and friendly. My family has been shopping here for over 20 years. I am sad to see how low the reviews are. The store was always well stocked before COVID. At the peak of COVID, their inventory--like all other grocery stores--took a severe hit but when I recently visited, I did not notice anything missing from the shelves. The entire store in all the departments I walked through also appeared to be very well-kept last time I visited. Their customer service--both with check out and with guest services--has been excellent. I don't have any complaints about this location! It's not as busy as some other locations so I can shop comfortably during COVID times and be in and out of the store in less than than other locations. read more

But it does carry all your everyday needs and it is Compare to Walmart but I would say has better Customer Service. Now this location is located next to the Costco Business Center in Kearny Mesa and it is one of the cleaner Targets . It does carry Milk And Eggs plus your daily needs such as toilet paper , Toothpaste, Soap And Laundry Detergent plus I do like there selection of Toys they got here in there Toy Department. Also the Electronic Department is cool to . Lots of TVs , Video Games And Movies you can buy . Another is they also carry Dog Food and Pet Supplies. This is a nice neighborhood Target located, why I don't know, right next door to Costco, but it works I guess because there was plenty of people in it during my visit. I stopped in after having lunch in the area to pick up a few items for some colleagues at work. A lot of the ladies at work love dark chocolate so I decided to pick up several of the large dark chocolate bars. I was very happy to learn that Target carried a melee of varieties, including Lindt Chocolates, especially the Lindt Excellence Sea Salt Dark Chocolate, 3.5 oz for $2.39. Not a bad deal, but sometimes when they are on sale you can get them for $1.99, so check the ads. I picked up five for the ladies and one for myself of course. On my way out, I picked up some Oroweat whole wheat bread because it was a good deal and headed to the register. The young lady at the register was hip and had a nice sense of humor. The parking lot is quite large and able to accommodate, even with the Costco next door. By the way, kudos to Target for opening at 8 am. I got what I needed without a hitch, so that's always nice. read more
