I am a huge fan of Super 7 so when someone told me they had a store right in downtown San Diego, I walked here immediately. From the sign outside to the smile I had walking in, this store is so, so cool. This store sells the figures, deluxe figures, a ton of t-shirts, plushies, pins, and so much more I can't imagine not being able to find something here. I ended up just picking up one of the Super 7 shirts since those aren't something i've cone across before. I didn't end up buying any of the figures because at $20 each for the basic ones I can literally buy them cheaper in Vegas. I might have to stop back in for a deluxe though since $55 is a great price for those. Overall, this store was dope and a must for any toy collector. I don't have a ton to say, but the extremely friendly employee mixed with a great selection makes this store a must for anyone. read more

The Hubs and I have been fans of Super7 toys for a long time, so when we returned to San Diego to visit friends we knew we to pay them a visit. Sure, you can shop their website, but it's always nice to see those glorious plastic toys up close and personal and marvel at their vast selection. The only downside to this location is they're located in the Gaslamp Quarter downtown, so you'll need to pay for parking. They have a large selection of toys in a range of sizes (seriously, from tiny to GIANT) for all the various characters/properties they have licensed spanning pop culture, comics, super heroes, animation, monsters, music and movies. They also have a wide selection of t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and other merch packed into, but very well organized and nicely displayed, their small-ish store. The guy working when we visited was incredibly nice and enthusiastic to talk and share with us. He even pulled out some really cool artwork from a recent convention they were at to show us. I only deducted a star because the company doesn't carry women's/girl's-cut t-shirts. I know it's 2022, but don't use wanting to be gender-neutral as an excuse to not carry women's-cut shirts when it's probably more of a business/inventory/financial decision. If someone wants gender-neutral they'll buy that style. Had they offered that style I would have happily bought several shirts for myself. Oh well, them's the breaks, kid. We still left happy with a bag full o'toys. read more

I found exactly what I had gone in for, but left empty handed because the entire store smelled like an ash tray the moment I entered. Very unusual for a store selling collectibles. Was so glad that I finally got to stop by this store. I used to read the magazine way back when - and was kinda shocked to see a shop with the same name while driving through downtown. Wasn't sure what to expect but there were a lot of really neat items here. Mainly based around the vintage genre - but plenty of really geeky Tshirts and Figures. If you are a fan of Masters of the Universe, Transformers, GI Joe and even Pee Wee there tons of stuff. I personally was pretty pumped to find a bargain Tshirt bin - scored myself an 8bit Star Wars Bounty Hunter shirt. It was even in a taller size. read more

Me and my wife usually walk into super7 and we find some awesome toys to collect. Today, we almost did. Don't get us wrong, we had some items in our hands that we were about to purchase but... whoever was "watching" the store this after rubbed us the wrong way. The group of customers before us were in there looked like they were trying to shop too and I overheard them asking the guy questions and mentioned to the guy "watching" the store "you can tell me to shut up" as if him asking questions to the "watcher of the store" was too much... Same went for us. All I needed was help with a medium sized tshirt that looked off from the medium sized tshirt on display. He seemed too occupied with what he was watching on TV than helping us. He basically gave me a shrug when I asked him about the tshirt size being off. I was going to buy a tshirt for my nephew but him shrugging me off rubbed me the wrong way. Id rather go back when someone else is working and give them the sale. Please talk to this guy and tell him his customer service sucks cuz he lost a few customers that day... read more

Ever since the original announcement of Alien ReAction figures, I've been an avid collector and fanboy of Super7's merchandise. As they say, "NO ONE MADE WHAT WE WANTED. SO WE MADE IT OURSELVES." This is immediately apparent when you walk into their stores: it's like the 1980s and 1990s threw up rainbow candy and I want to eat all of it. With their original store in San Francisco now closed in favor of the new one there; the San Diego store is only 1 of 2 in the world. For those wondering what this company is, they make pop culture merchandise ranging from t-shirts with unique art, to art prints, wall paper, recreations of rare Japanese toys, action figures that were never made but should have been, kitschy items you don't need but can't live without, and vinyl toys. Beyond their original items, their stores also stock like-minded items like t-shirts from partnership companies, Funko items like their popular Pops!, books about all these topics, and the coolest stuff: authentic vintage toys. The San Diego store is right outside of the Gaslamp area and a quick walk from downtown and the convention center. There is street parking everywhere, that's actually easy to find and affordable. The windows are filled with fun things, including a neon Skeletor's Lair sign highlighting their love of Masters of the Universe in one window, and the other with primarily items from that Galaxy Far, Far Away. They don't have a big orange Super7 sign like the SF store, so it may not be immediately noticeable driving by; it's a historic plain white brick building on the corner. The store has high ceilings, and is kept classy, clean, and organized. I love all the wood shelves, glass display cases, and artwork everywhere. Their signature Star Wars wallpaper is plainly visible as are all their toys, past and present. T-shirts are on the right and left walls; Star Wars on the left, other original designs on the right (at the time of this writing, I loved the Alien, Strange Things, and other designs showcased). There is a small fitting room at the back right corner, with wonderful wooden doors and Godzilla artwork. The middle has the book table, mainly with coffee table and reference works. Underneath you'll find discounted Pops! and ReAction figures, some damaged. Along the left wall is the real magic; their original and partnership ReAction line with Alien, Mortal Kombat, Masters of the Universe, and other lines. They have a ton of new Pops!. They also have many of their Japaneseque vinyl figures on display, along with their new M.U.S.C.L.E. lines. Toward the counter is a mostly-complete collection of all the ReAction and M.U.S.C.L.E. figures open and displayed just like all of us collectors love to do. Here you'll also find vintage toys; all for sale. Be sure to check out the little items at the cash register like old style motel keychains (like from The Shining and Friday the 13th), pins, patches, and others. Yea first post ever! Mangy friends and I stumbled upon this hidden gem of s nerdgasm store! Fun screen tees of Star Wars icons, San Diego Padres animated baseball's and even old skool Nintendo games. On the other wall its figurine heaven! Funkco POP heads from The WalKing Dead (Prison time Glen) to cartoons and even aliens. They had a great selection of them in stock and since they are brand new you can practically buy the whole set! The wall continued to have individual action figures from Firefly to The Karate Kid where the figurine had the Cobra Kaiser symbol on the back of his gee. Mr. Miyagi came with a little bonzi tree. I didn't see out ask for the prices but this is def for those who are nerdy and nostalgic collector's! It's a 7 out of 7 in my super rating! read more

Cool toy store. My husband purchases lots of their toys online so when I was in San Diego I promised I would stop and visit. The location is a bit hard to find. They need better signage. The size is much smaller than I had expected as well. I was hoping they would have more inventory but I still had fun poking around. I had a bad experience with one of their employees at SD comic con, every time I stop by and try to buy a t shirt he always says "This guy again " then shook his head, followed by, "No Shirt for you!" In a real obnoxious way and loud enough that everyone can hear through the crowd. He is the guy that speaks with a middle eastern accent. As much as would like to support and buy their products, I will now stop. I even let several of their employees know how I felt. Sorry but I rather take my business somewhere else where they care about their customers. read more

Around the corner from 5&A Dime comes this place which brings out the nerd in me. Seriously...I geek out on their comics, action figurines and Star Wars memorabilia (even though I'm not a hardcore fan). Have you felt their wallpaper? Sensory overload. It's either Star Wars character heads or another theme but it's VELVET! You have to touch it. And yes you can buy a roll of said wallpaper to have for yourself but it comes at a price I'm not willing to fork down. Pop! boxes are relatively cheap and they have some limited editions here. Floor to ceiling amounts of boxes is what I'm talking about. They also have other different figurines throughout the store as well as behind the counter with reference to manga and other art. The shirts are a bit up there (you're looking at a minimum of $35 a shirt) but with the coolest graphics. They also have plaid shirts as well as polos if graphic shirts aren't your thing. You gotta check this place out. If you think the neighboring Comic Con is full of nerds, it's like a compacted version in this store. read more

Visited back in March, enjoyed it thoroughly! Bought that awesome Mummy Boy Padres Exclusive Shirt, LUV it. Staff is great, very friendly and easy to strike up a conversation with. We talked Comic-Con, their past products that I've bought, upcoming collector Conventions, etc. Would've rapped longer if not for those damn meters; that's the ONE down side: Parking. If you go earlier on a weekday it should be fine but Fridays and Weekends might be a problem. You might have to trek it on those days, probably just park at Horton (unless you're willing to ACE it which would only make sense if you're shop-hopping that day). One side of the store has their Retro Action Figures, Vinyls, & POP! while the other has clothing. Vintage Vinyl & Vintage Star Wars Figures are part of the decor as well, I even saw a Kaiju Vinyl that I used to have as a kid! And that Star Wars wallpaper would be perfect in a Collectibles room. I need one of those bad. They sell some great shirts based on Star Wars, Video Games and other pop culture faves, they even have In-and-Out shirts (secret menu, baby!) It's a small but awesome store, hope they never ever go away. "Super7 is Pop Culture heaven!!" (That's a great jingle) Needless to say, I'll be coming back like a Kaiju with a mad-on. read more

The person working was extremely friendly with letting me chill inside while it was raining super hard. I had so much fun looking at all of the cool stuff in the store. Nice little toy and t-shirt shop. Not much in the way of comics and while they do have books the selection is kind of thin. If you're looking for toys, though, this is definitely the place to be. A whole wall of the Pop! dolls and they actually partner with that company to release their own action figures from various movies - Hellraiser, Jaws, so on so forth. A neat little shop that's not quite like any other I've been in. They also have a good selection of house designed T-shirts that you really won't find anywhere else. Recently bought a lot of stuff at their booth during Comic-Con. Unfortunately two shirts didn't make it into the bag while we chatted with their awesome, courteous, and all around friendly staff. My boyfriend called the store and they offered to rectify the problem immediately. It's definitely appreciated since I know being a small business they have to protect their revenue. I just want to say with this kind of treatment you're just going to get customers coming back.
