Went to this bar in the Snake River Lodge for an après ski drink. Place wasn't crowded but service was slow. Worst thing about this restaurant is they added a 20% "Service Charge" to the bill. There were only 2 of us, and we just had 2 drinks. This is the only place in Teton Village or Jackson WY that adds this slimey upcharge that we encountered. On top of that, the check had a large space for you to add a tip, which probably has lured a few others to add tip not knowing they already put in 20%. I hate the hidden service charge, and will never set foot in Gamefish restaurant again. read more

Spent 2 nights at Snake River Lodge and Spa. Ate Mangy Moose first night...food was ok...small portions...big price. Second night we came downstairs to Gamefish. We wished we had just eaten here both times! Every one loved it. Wild Pacific Saloon, Bowl of Kobe beef, Buffalo, & Elk Chili, Grilled chicken salad and 2 Huckleberry Mojitos. We stayed at the snake lodge so decided to make it easy and just eat at the restaurant for dinner. The staff were very friendly and attentive. You get bread while waiting and portions are big! Burger included fries. Price was average. Prices for nearby places were more $$$. My only issue was I ordered a minestrone soup and the waitress brought me a dirty sticky spoon! Yuck. I asked for a new one And they apologized and brought me a new one. Restaurant was empty at 7:30 pm. read more

Restaurant in the beautiful snake river lodge was surprisingly the worst service I've ever gotten in a high end resort setting. Server forgot to put in my order and then had another staff member approach the table 20 minutes after my friend was finished theirs to ask if I "still wanted my meal", as if my hunger miraculously subsided from their mistake. Not only did they not apologize, they didn't offer any type of compensation like any reasonable restaurant would. I still recommend the hotel/spa but I would avoid this restaurant for sure. read more

The recording says to leave a message and they will call back to confirm. I left the message in the morning. We were walking around in the village in the afternoon and had not received a confirmation call, so we went to Gamefish to check. That's when we were told they were only doing take-out due to Covid. Tough meats and BAD service. SKIP! AMBIANCE: Low lighting for a lodge/romantic vibe. Patrons were generally older. SERVICE: Terrible. When we arrived at 8pm we thought the restaurant was closed because no one was manning the front desk. After waiting for a couple minutes and being generally confused, the hostess appeared and finally led us to a table. Our waiter was disastrous. Look, I know we look young, are dressed somewhat poorly (we were hiking during the day, but it wasn't so different from everyone else there), and are Asian, but that is no excuse for poor service. We were routinely ignored, and items were forgotten. Like a steak knife. How am I supposed to eat my tough cut of elk with a butter knife?! FOOD: Meh. - Bison chili ($10): Most delicious item of the night. Hot, spicy, flavorful, with nice chunks of tender bison. Yum. If the meal had ended here I would've been completely satisfied. - Bison ribeye ($42): Good flavor but very tough. Tasted like regular beef to me. - Elk two ways ($38): Good flavor, but again VERY TOUGH. I really had to saw at the meat with my butter knife. It didn't help that they clearly didn't cook the meat to my specifications (med rare). Why bother asking if you're going to overcook my meat anyway? OVERALL: I realize the meal will be pricier due to the touristy location, but come on. At least give me good service! Won't be back. read more

Sea bass was burned outside, raw inside, probably not properly thawed before cooking. Trout was great though. Ragout flavor was good although pasta was strangely clumpy. Salads nice and fresh. Soup and cassoulet portions on the small side. Heard the breakfast buffet was not good. read more

We were staying at the Snake River Lodge and had breakfast here everyday. The buffet is pretty good - scrambled eggs, bacon, elk sausage, french toast, pancakes, all of the continental items - the usual. They have great coffee but the juice could be better. The service was good each time and my coffee cup was never empty. The best part is probably the view of the mountains and horses right outside. I didn't try the Grab and Go breakfasts or lunches but they seemed like a great deal if you want to take something straight up the mountain. read more

We had lunch while waiting for our room to be ready. Nothing popped out in the menu to make it feel special. I had the BLT and the bread was very he'd around the crust making it difficult to bite into. The bacon part of the sandwich was of course amazing. Bacon can do no wrong. I felt like it was a little bit expensive for what you were getting. At the bar we ordered one Bloody Mary, a Long Island and shot of fireball and it cost almost $40. read more

STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! We went here for Christmas Eve dinner and it was absolutely awful! Snake River Lodge should be ashamed! The restaurant was empty and had no atmosphere......should have heard the alarm bells ringing right then and there. The wait staff, although very polite, were all very green and in their first or second week of work with no apparent manager on duty. They outnumbered our party 2 to 1 which made for an awkward dinner. Ordered the wine and then wanted to check the year to which we got a reply of "don't know will have to check" and then my wife asked the same server what the "Jackson butter was?" To which we got a reply of " don't know depends what you're looking at and we do t know the menu" what a twit! Mains came out and one of the worst meals I have ever experienced from a hotel restaurant! No wonder the place was empty with no hotel guests eating there. Table ordered 3 baked trout dishes and they were all completely overcooked and under seasoned my elk meatball pappardelle was also overcooked and under seasoned with the pasta absolutely annihilated, with not one full length pappardelle in sight. DISGRACEFUL!!!! Asked to see the chef to which we got a reply of he's on holiday, then asked to speak to the manager to which we got the same response. Manager an duty came over(unfortunately the same guy who served our wine) and he was obviously not having a great night because he was on for a verbal battle. Finally realized that we were in fact the customers and then his tunes changed to the pint of him turning into a passive aggressive smarmy individual. We stayed here and decided to try the restaurant. We were very happy with the hostess, who did a great job placing our carry-out order. She double-checked that the order was correct and didn't contain any of our child's allergens. She assured us that they take allergies very seriously there. My kids loved the chicken fingers and macaroni on the kids menu. My husband and I each had a burger with fries which was also great. We would definitely go back here. read more

We Arrived & checked-in today from NY and decided to eat at the Snake River hotel for convenience. What a terrible mistake. Only two tables had diners, the rest were empty. One extremely inexperienced waiter was working with two brand new assistants. Ordered a bottle of sparkling water for the table, it was placed unopened on the table. Ten minutes passed before a server or waiter appeared again, so we could ask them for a bottle opener to open the bottle of sparkling water. From there, the diner went straight downhill. Salads had zero dressing. Plates came out in random order. The quality of the food was the worst meal in ten years. The six of us barely could eat anything served. The steak looked as though it was cooked in the microwave. When I asked the waiter (on his rare appearances) what was going on, he said they did not expect this crowd- THREE TABLES IN CHRISTMAS WEEK? I asked for the manager, and was told he was off. The chef also must have taken the night off as there is no way anyone who has cooked a meal before could have, in all seriousness, sent the six dinners they gave us. Never, and I mean NEVER, pay for a meal at this restaurant. read more

I am very disappointed with this restaurant. We were staying at the Snake River Lodge, so we had our first dinner there. We were the only guests in the restaurant at 6 pm and still had to wait a full hour for our entree. The food was okay, but all the side dishes were cold. It seems that we were not the only ones having trouble with the food. Every single table sent at least one plate back to the kitchen and complained. They Gamefish offered a buy one entree, get another one free. This seemed like a good deal, however, they added a mandatory 20% gratuity and charged sales tax on the gratuity, which easily made up for the "deal". Their bar advertised a happy hour with a buy one get one free drink special on beer or wine. When we got the bill we were charged for both. So we asked why we were charged for 2 drinks during happy hour. The waiter told us that "you have to ask for the happy hour special or you won't get it." I won't got back to the restaurant and bar again. There are plenty of other good restaurants in Teton Village to spend my money. read more

Perfect dinner! Had seared scallops for appetizer, lamb chop for entree, and apple tart/vanilla ice cream for dessert. The scallops were perfectly seared, with slightly crispy outside and juicy inside. Puree was well done. Lamb chop had the right combination of lean meat and fat, and the flavor was full-bodied and aromatic. Apple tart was again flawless, and the ice cream gave a nice contrast. Overall very strong dishes and I strongly recommend even for people not staying in Teton Village hotels. read more

We arrived at the Snake River lodge and the Gamefish was all that was opened. The food was good but overpriced. Bowl of chili two burgers and two beers came to 76 bucks with tip. Incredible dinner! We have been to many places in town, so the prices here were comparable to the nicer spots. Everything we got was fantastic, and even the picky eater in our group tasted every dish on the table and enjoyed! Beautiful setting. Recommend the salmon, stuffed portabella mushrooms, and the beet salad. It is a very small restaurant but we felt that it was charmingly so. Only downside is the slower service (hence the 4 stars), but on a night that you're not in a big rush, this is a delicious spot. read more

Disappointing. This is early in the summer season but there were only 4 tables seated. Ordered the ceasar salad, thought the chef forgot the anchovies. Asked the waiter who checked and came back to say they were in the dressing and in crumbs ( yes crumbs). No offer to add more. Also came more like a wedge salad so had to cut it up and try and mix the dressing around on the plate. The food arrived while i was still eating the salad and the wait staff proceeded to squeeze the dinner plate on the corner of the table next to the salad plate. Who does that? I ordered the trout - nothing special about how it was prepared and it was perfect for someone on a low sodium diet. The carrots/broccolini/asparagus were cold. Not just warm but cold. So apparently they rushed out my dinner after it had been sitting a while. Suggest you di e elsewhere. read more

I really wanted to give this place two stars, but I just couldn't discount it that much because the food was pretty good and the service left a sour taste. Here's my perspective... Atmosphere - pretty nice joint, although a little small, but felt the decor was nice and the tables were well set nicely. Food - overall the food was all pretty good, which is the positive end of this restaurant. Our group had a mix of fish (trout), steak (aged ribeye), and bison burgers, plus soups and a variety of salads. Everything was pretty darn good. Nothing was amazing, but definitely good. Service - sigh...where do I start. Our server had one other table than ours and everything took soo long. Literally one other table of two people and slow service. We ordered drinks and came out in about 8 minutes, than placed our orders...which wasn't too bad, but pretty slow. It is a ski town I guess, although the price would create greater expectations. The salads prior to dinner came about 15 minutes later, which were brought out by three other staff, which later comes into question why service was so poor. Main course took about another 30 minutes, while our empty salad plates and soup bowls sat in front of us, and our empty glasses of water. In fact, when a staff came with our main entrees she went back because our plates had not been cleared yet. Took forever to get our bill (45 minutes) plus we never got one refill of water, even after asking, so overall poor service made our group cringe. Overall - if you have 2+ hours to spend on a meal, the food is pretty good, but you may become frustrated with the service, especially if you see more than two tables seated. read more
