TRIGGER WARNING (DON'T LOOK AT OLD REVIEWS. NEW ACTUAL GREAT HONEST MECHANIC HERE)…read more The registration and smog is due on my 2004 Mazda next week (i know it's old but with minivan prices today, i know what i have and don't want to give it up that easily), but with the check engine light BLINKING+ other problems I knew no way I would get smog passed. I called around a few places (some others I found on yelp with promising reviews), but they were booked until the next week, and registration being due in a few days, I decided to drive down Elk Grove Blvd a little bit more and I saw the Complete Performance sign nestled next to a gas station in Old Town Elk Grove. I parked and who would be Ben came out right away and asked me how he could help. I told him everything wrong (flashing check engine light, rough idling, jerky transmission, oil burning smell). He walked me into the office, took my info and said he's get on it RIGHT AWAY! I wasn't sold yet and was thinking about just getting his diagnosis then moving on and trying again with another mechanic, but once I gave him the keys (and getting ready to call an uber to get back home about a mile away) , he said "do you need a ride home?" That's when I was like okay, wow I'm going with this guy, he does have some hospitality and availability. Quite the rarity! He called me a few hours later and mentioned I had bad spark plugs and a bad intake boot (and one other thing I don't remember). I remember seeing his labor rate on the wall in the office and I even ended up calling around and was relieved that his rate was the market rate (California is generally just high with this). Also, He would be DONE by end of business tomorrow (a 1 day turnaround was music to my ears right now!) which means I could get this registered and passed for smog before the registration expires. After initial estimate, I was worried, not because I thought it was high (because I knew the other labor rates in the area would cost me the same for labor+parts), but because the car was so old. I wanted to give up on this car and just file for planned non operation. He stopped, listened and worked out a deal with me that would include a guaranteed smog pass after repairs were made + a warranty so I would be covered for these issues in the future. I said okay and made the deal with him. He identified another issue with my fuel injector later on and called me The irony is that I didn't even see the bad reviews on here which were from years ago by an older mechanic. There was no way that these could be about Ben, who's the new guy in town here) and sure enough, that is the exact case. Ben is unfortunately having to work against 4+ year old reviews about some other guy named Bobby and that's not fair. I'm here to set the record straight and give the 5 stars he truly deserves. Thank you for everything Ben, I now have a couple more years at least before I need to buy a new $50,000+ minivan for my family.

Starting off with the most basic of things, the smell! As a person in the dental office, I am used to smelling foul things from materials to rotting teeth to gum disease and bad body odor. When I came into the office I could smell someone's gum disease all the way from the door! Alright, it sucks, not my place to put my nose in, but when I brought in my father's car for a valve cover gasket change, his car went from the smell of Mercedes leather to pungent sulfurous smell of gun disease that won't go away! It's straight up nasty... Talking about the work of valve cover gasket, I had them do it and they did do the job quickly. Conveniently just down the street from me where I could walk to go pick up the car! After just over 2 years and less than 5k miles with the car, I was made aware by another mechanic of its valve cover gasket leaking! Called them up and was told they would take a look and take care of me. They took the car in, told me some BS about the gasket is not an issue and that it's just sweating... in my 30 years of dealing with all sorts of cars, I've never had anyone call gaskets sweating nor is it a normal occurrence to keep on watching. Charged me for looking at the work they did, wouldn't warranty it and sent me back on my way. Previously brought my father's Porsche Cayenne diesel for catalytic converter falling. The owner said these things happen and they have dealt with this before where they would clean the cat and be fine. Brought the car in and had them work on it. Week later I get a call that they tried their tricks and didn't work so it would be thousands of dollar for their work that didn't fix the problem. And oh by the way, the car still has a warranty at the dealership so why don't you call them up and get it done there? Wow, thanks for the heads up after charging me thousands first. Lastly, customer service is non existent! Call and you are told to book it online, got questions about service? Book it online. It's like they don't want to waste time talking to you ever. Thankfully I've been in touch with Stewart's automotive in Sacramento off Stockton blvd exit from I50 and I would gladly pay for AAA to get my cars there than to roll my car down the hill into this place. Hope this place gets better and have someone's gum disease taken care off

This was one of the few times that I had used Yelp's project feature to find a mechanic. Robles's auto repair was the quickest to reply and also ended up having one of the most competitive prices. Using the project feature of Yelp allowed me to stay in constant communication with Gabriel. I was kept abreast of the repairs on my vehicle and they even stuck around a little after hours to make sure I could get my car after the repairs were done. That Stockton traffic can be a doozy. The issue with my vehicle was a leak in the radiator that Mercedes said would cost $2400 to repair at the dealership, but with Robles's auto repair, I was able to do it for under $800. The parts in general are not what's expensive just my model and Mercedes has a lot of pieces that have to be removed to get access to the radiator. Now my car is running great and I should be good for a long time. If you're looking for a family run business, this is your next stop for your engine, rebuild transmission, rebuild, and general automotive repairs

Robles Auto Repair delivers exactly what most shops promise and few actually provide: reliability,…read moreprofessionalism, and fair pricing. From the very first message, their responsiveness stood out. Communication was prompt, clear, and respectful, which immediately set the tone for the experience. That professionalism carried through every step, from the initial contact to dropping off our Escalade for new brakes and rotors. The shop itself isn't flashy, and that turns out to be part of its charm. What it lacks in frills, it more than makes up for in competence and integrity. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and straightforward, with no upselling or pressure. Most importantly, the work was completed exactly when they said it would be, something that feels increasingly rare in auto repair. The quality of service paired with the best price we found made this an easy win. Robles Auto Repair proves that excellent service doesn't need a fancy showroom, just honesty, skill, and respect for the customer's time. Highly recommended.

This is a story of doing the right thing and taking care of what they knew was the right thing to do . No way to make this simple but I'll try . Bought a used 2015 Kia Optima Hybrid XL clean very nice looking less than 45 days later motor failed I had it towed home then started looking into it and found the motor had a recall so I called Roseville Kia and they took the vin number and said yes so I had it towed to them after 2 weeks they come back saying it could not be covered even got a email from Kia saying the car was sold at Auction so it would not be covered so I went a step further and looked that up and there it was in black and white as long as it's not a Salvage Title it's covered mine was not a Salvage Title so I took another step and called Elk Grove Kia . The young lady who answered the phone listen to my story she said that does not sound right let me get you over to Alex our Service Manager I left him a message and he called me back that evening lol I was at a baseball game for my grandson he said take your time I walked where I could hear him we talked for about 30 min he took down all my information and said well your car absolutely is on the recall list I told him about Roseville Kia how I even tried to get it fixed through Good Will service that Kia has he said have it towed here . I went to Roseville Kia they still charged me 220.00 because they said it was not covered for recall so I paid it . Well just picked my car up and drove it away Brand New Engine Bottom line they went the extra mile they did what Roseville Kia didn't want to do because they wouldn't make as much money for the job . I will be looking to get a refund from Roseville Kia since they did not follow thru with what was needed to get the job done . So if you are looking to buy a New or Used Kia Go To ELK GROVE KIA They stand behind the Kia Name . I can't Thank Alex & Clayton enough and the young lady who listen in the first call for helping me out . Thank You Thank You God Bless you for helping me Sue

I asked him to confirm over a text. He said I can't because you are shopping at other places. I said fair deal. I will come in evening and pick it up. In the evening (same day), I called him and asked, you confirmed on the numbers? He said yes we will do it. UPDATE: I sent the picture of the "tar" oil to the owner and to his credit he responded quickly and…read moreapologized. He said that it was indeed obvious that the oil wasn't changed, and acknowledged this was a "miss" by his mechanic. I appreciated this bc at the time I was contending that the oil hadn't been changed, I felt like the "bad guy" when his mechanic was telling us that he had changed it. So I appreciated the call. In any case, this could have been a real problem for me had I not done my own checking and changed the oil myself, and no doubt I would have just been out-of-luck with no recourse. So even if not attributable to malice in this case, stuff can fall through the cracks and I recommend that you do your own thorough due diligence and not necessarily just take everything that is said at face value. ORIGINAL: Be careful and you should buy here only if you know cars or if you have a good mechanic. I came here only because they happened to have a rare model that I was looking for. The owner represented that they had changed the oil after I expressly asked. I honestly didn't care if they did or not, I just wanted to know so I would know to do it. After a cursory check after some driving, it was obvious from the dipstick that the "mechanic" had not. I went back to the dealership to get them to do it. When I returned, the owner swore up and down that his "mechanic" changed the oil, and that he didn't want to ask him to change it again bc then he'd be "calling his mechanic a liar." I said I couldn't speak to whether the "mechanic" was a liar or not, but see can see from the photo what eventually came out when I changed it. So yea, man, your "mechanic" is indeed, a liar. The owner then offered to reimburse me if I went to go change it at Midas nearby. Not trusting a "quickie oil change" place either I asked instead if the owner would just pay me the cost of the oil and filter and I'd do it myself. So buyer beware. They have a decent selection of interesting cars, but you should assume, regardless of what they tell you, that they did not do any maintenance to the car. Unless you are physically watching them as they do it, and even then I'm not sure I would trust them. You will either have to check everything yourself, or take it to your trusted mechanic. The one thing that is good, is that the salespeople seemed like decent enough people, but definitely are not thorough or take proper care in what they are doing. For 90% of buyers who don't know anything about cars they can probably get away with their behavior. But I'd recommend that you only buy here if if you really know your cars and know exactly what to check.
