I reached-out to TC Auto Care because my clutch fluid level was low, again, so something had to be leaking. My car is a 2007, so I figured it had to be an old hose fitting leaking. TC Auto responded that it would be $69.99 (for the inspection only, not to replace all of the hoses - my misunderstanding, nbd.) I had no appointment, but went anyway (just in case). Mr. I-forget-his-name looked at my clutch master cylinder reservoir, then had my car up on the lift in under 5 minutes (at this point I had been there almost 7 minutes). He inspected everything, indicated to me where things were, and explained where it would likely be leaking if it was. Neither of us was able to see any indication of leakage. I'll need to keep an eye on the level, but that is not difficult. TC Auto took time out of their obviously busy day to investigate (and explain) what turned-out to be a non-job. The mechanic was friendly, personable, highly knowledgeable, and made the experience easy and kinda fun. The next time my car needs work that I can't do, TC Auto is where I will go. read more

On a whim I stopped by today and was told they could at least diagnose my issue today. They not only diagnosed but repaired this problem keeping the shop open on additional hour. I would like to commend the owner, Jhonatan (that's how his name is spelled) Sosa, for his persistence in diagnosing a stubborn clutch problem that I was having with my 2000 Camaro SS. I had previously been disappointed by other mechanics who had misdiagnosed the clutch problem (the clutch would intermittently fail to disengage) as a hydraulic issue. Jhonatan discovered that the low-mileage high-performance clutch assembly that was installed 3 years ago was defective. I had a new spare clutch gathering dust in my garage and Jhonatan quickly installed it and the car now runs and shifts great! I know that Jhonatan put many more labor hours into my car than he billed me for but the cost increase over the original estimate was more than justified. I am knowledgeable about auto mechanics and while I was very frustrated with previous futile attempts (some by myself) at fixing the problems, Jhonatan hung in here and got the job done! read more

2011 registration came in the mail yesterday for my 2005 Nissan Titan and it large letters across the top of the page it said "SMOG CHECK" required. Shucks!!! but I guess this is the 1st one after 6 years of ownership. I googled a few places outside of Galt and all had higher prices than I expected and the fact that my brother always has my truck, makes scheduling difficult. I called TC auto care and yes they do smog checks! Just opened in May they were offering a $10 discount. Chris and Demetrio who were working today's shift were very welcoming and as promised, got the truck smogged and certified within 15 minutes!! I also asked them to give me an estimate for replacing a couple of hoses (NIssan dealership quoted me almost $800) and they gave me an estimate for half of that!!! I think I'll be a customer for life...now if they could only do body work on my truck :) read more

Called TC Auto Care this morning & asked if they do smog checks & they do if you come in before 2pm. I arrived around 11:30am & the owner, Jhonathan, said it would be around 45 minutes or so before they would be able to get to my car. No problem...I would wait. He took my DMV invoice & said he would enter it into the system. I sat on the couch in the waiting room & made myself comfortable. Over an hour later, Jhonathan comes back into the waiting room & says that he is not able to smog my vehicle because he entered the information & it requires a "Star" station to perform the smog. He said that there is nobody in the town of Galt that is a "Star" station & the closest would be Elk Grove. He was kind enough to hop on the computer & look up the address of the nearest Smog 'n Go; however, he wrote the address on my DMV remittance stub in ink! As previous reviews have stated, I am sure Jhonathan is an honest mechanic that does good work. You don't get a 5-Star Yelp rating having unethical & shoddy business practices; however, I certainly did not appreciate wasting over an hour of my time sitting around expecting my vehicle to have a smog check & then be told that it can't be done & I have to go elsewhere. I brought my vehicle in close to closing time, not expecting them to look at it then but rather to see if they could help me out later. They took it in, gave it a brief once-over and were unable to find anything obvious. Asked me to bring it back when there was more time which I did a few days later. On Thursday 7/9, I stopped by TC Auto Care to check how much they charged to tune up my car, it's a v6 and they estimated around $300. I then told them I'd bring it in on Friday and when I came back another person estimated it'd be around $400-$500 so I decided to still use their services. Everyone can look at the invoices I attached that outlined all the services they provided for me that day. When I went back to pick up my car they charged me $502.69 but then they suddenly told me they had to charge me $20 more because I used a debit card, what a joke. So I got my car and drove for 2 days and it didn't feel right. So I told my son to check out my car, when he opened up the hood there were so many parts they didn't even bother to reconnect. They also didn't even change my air filter, the oil level was even below the normal amount. It seems to me they don't know how to do their job correctly. My son has to fix everything they DIDN'T DO. This will definitely be my first and last time ever coming here. I genuinely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I already told some of my friends to not go to this place. It's sad they took advantage of new customers and their hard earned money, TC Auto Care are crooks! read more

Instead of name calling, let's state facts. The 2nd mechanic indicated that the connector and hose were damaged. The car only had a little over 50 k miles. These items should have been replaced at the beginning or was the original problem and didn't need a new compressor that you sold us. When we brought this up to you. You said you would take care of the A/c and at least pay for the Freon and evaluation. Fact we sent a copy of the work order to you. That's when you wouldn't answer phone calls. You were not available. And emails. Were not returned. Even your reply on yelp said you were sending a $ card. I guess it's lost in the mail with the other responses. Because after almost 3 weeks no response. Professional business don't act like you. And I truly hope no other people will get burned from doing business with you. read more

Very nice and professional. My fuel pump went out on I5 and they called around to get the best deal, worked with my dealer on reimbursing my costs and the waiting area and bathrooms are very clean.
