I don't normally write poor reviews as I understand businesses can have bad days or even just bad moments in time, but this place has been a sore thumb in my experience over a period of years. Starting off with the most basic of things, the smell! As a person in the dental office, I am used to smelling foul things from materials to rotting teeth to gum disease and bad body odor. When I came into the office I could smell someone's gum disease all the way from the door! Alright, it sucks, not my place to put my nose in, but when I brought in my father's car for a valve cover gasket change, his car went from the smell of Mercedes leather to pungent sulfurous smell of gun disease that won't go away! It's straight up nasty... Talking about the work of valve cover gasket, I had them do it and they did do the job quickly. Conveniently just down the street from me where I could walk to go pick up the car! After just over 2 years and less than 5k miles with the car, I was made aware by another mechanic of its valve cover gasket leaking! Called them up and was told they would take a look and take care of me. They took the car in, told me some BS about the gasket is not an issue and that it's just sweating... in my 30 years of dealing with all sorts of cars, I've never had anyone call gaskets sweating nor is it a normal occurrence to keep on watching. Charged me for looking at the work they did, wouldn't warranty it and sent me back on my way. Previously brought my father's Porsche Cayenne diesel for catalytic converter falling. The owner said these things happen and they have dealt with this before where they would clean the cat and be fine. Brought the car in and had them work on it. Week later I get a call that they tried their tricks and didn't work so it would be thousands of dollar for their work that didn't fix the problem. And oh by the way, the car still has a warranty at the dealership so why don't you call them up and get it done there? Wow, thanks for the heads up after charging me thousands first. Lastly, customer service is non existent! Call and you are told to book it online, got questions about service? Book it online. It's like they don't want to waste time talking to you ever. Thankfully I've been in touch with Stewart's automotive in Sacramento off Stockton blvd exit from I50 and I would gladly pay for AAA to get my cars there than to roll my car down the hill into this place. Absolutely terrible service. Overpriced, incompetent, and zero communication. Every time they "fix" one problem, another one immediately breaks. I drove five minutes after the first repair and had to bring the car back. That turned into thousands more in repairs. Picked it up again, drove out of the parking lot, and yet another issue broke down immediately. This felt like an endless money trap. No accountability, no quality control, and no explanation. On top of that, communication was awful -- I had to repeatedly call just to get basic updates. They never proactively reached out. Majorly overpriced and dishonest!! I learned too late they charged me ~4x what the Porsche dealership would have charged me to replace a automatic window switch (cosmetic piece). A $25 part and 10 minutes to install (per the dealership), and these crooks charged me $400! Shame on me for not doing my homework before trusting them. Save yourself TIME and lots of money and take your car elsewhere. They seem to be scammers who don't care about customer service. Where do I even begin. After 10+ years of taking all of my cars to EU-TECH (on Auburn Blvd), I thought to myself, let's give a more local shop a try. Closer to our home in Cameron Park and more convenient dropping off and picking up. Just this once I thought what could go wrong. Two and a half weeks ago, wife's car was dropped off for regular maintenance and a check engine light that was on. EU-TECH already checked it and told me it was a 4 hour job but they did not have a specific tool and it'd be best to take it to the dealership. I tried taking the car to the dealer, but unfortunately the distance was too far for me and having a long drop off location, wasn't working with mine and my wife's work schedule. So I searched for authorized mechanics to be able to work on the car and Foreign Auto showed up on my search. I did a brief search of them and saw some positive reviews on Google and bunch of exotic cars like Ferraris, Lambos, Lotus, etc. were all over their photos online. So I thought, ok these guys are legit and work on variety of cars and must know what they are doing. They must be professionals. Boy was I wrong! First, after dropping it off, the guy calls me and tells me "we are busy right now and I won't get to start on your car in a few days" ... I understood it was around the holidays and slight delays were expected. Didn't think anything of it. Then after 4 days, I finally got the diagnosis report. They charge you $300 as soon as the car is in their shop. So the moment you drop off the car, be ready to have at least a $300 charge. Couple of more days go by. The report gets updated. Now I'm like ok great. They are actually working on the car. After some calls back and forth, they tell me there is this tool that they need to order and after all the fixes, my cost would be around $2500. I approved the estimate, which also included a bunch of other "Recommended" fixes. After I signed the approval, my wife reminded me of our Warranty that was still active. So I quickly reached out to the shop and told them my warranty info. Funny enough, after 30 minutes of me providing the warranty info, I received a new updated estimate. My total all of a sudden became $3600! How could this be? I just approved a $2500 estimate. So I call the shop. I asked about the sudden increase. The dude had the audacity to say "well it's a big job. We found out we need to remove XYZ in order to do the job. So it came out to be more hours of labor". Then he said, "don't worry. Your insurance will pay close to $2k of it." Since my total for my portion was now below what I was originally paying and I wanted to get this resolved as soon as possible and get the car back, I accepted the charges and told them to move forward. This was around day 4 or 5 of dropping the car off. 5 more days went by. Throughout this time, there were many discussions like "Parts being ordered", "We don't have this tool and need to order this tool", "we are waiting for this other tool to arrive", "oh your car was going to be ready but my guy broke something and I don't feel comfortable giving you the car like this so we have to fix it. Ordered another part for it and waiting for it" and comments like that, until 2.5 weeks later. The guy is like "when we opened this part, there was this other part that we needed and you need to pay for it. It'll be around $200 more" ... At this point I am fed up with this scam of a place and I just agreed to anything to get my car back. Keep in mind throughout this period, my portion of the payment is suppose to be $1900. When l received my bill, my portion became $2400! And an additional $2000 was paid by my insurance. So this place charged me over $4000 for a job that was suppose to be 4 hours and they took 2.5 weeks to deliver! And throughout this period, every time I would call, they'd have this type of tone as if I am the one that is annoying them by calling them every other day for an update on the car. Best part is, after finally getting the car back, the first thing I see is "Regular Maintenance Overdue" light on the dash goes on and the inside of the car smells badly of oil/gas. Do not be fooled by this place. To me, the sudden increase in the estimate after finding out about my warranty is very shady and I feel this place scams people by overcharging and adding cost for extras you don't need. There are way better mechanics in the neighborhood than these guys. Obviously I will be back to EU-TECH again after this experience. ****UPDATE 18 days later after receiving the car: CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AGAIN. This place is a joke of a mechanic shop. Such a pathetic experience, learned my lesson not to go for such kind of shop - I have got my 60k service done for my bmw, and it was all good, and I noticed a couple days later ( there was beeping sound for a left front sensor, my navigation goes on and off and when it popped up it was beeping, noticed that front left sensor was tucked inside and when i took it back, they said that for getting that fixed I would have to pay 250 for the stupidity of their service - this is how not have a CX - its a rip of mindset of these guys that makes me to get to showroom. read more

In November 2024 I took my daughter's VW Passat in due to a coolant leak that ended up being a faulty water pump that had been installed by Foreign Autohaus in March 2024. They covered this part/labor under warranty but during that visit several other issues were found and fixed. It was recommended at that time that we approve the cost of a carbon cleaning as the valves had "excessive" carbon buildup. I was told this is a preventative service to help prevent misfires in the future and to improve fuel efficiency. Since the car was already in the shop and dismantled, I approved the additional service. Foreign Autohaus uses crushed walnut shells to "blast" the carbon deposits which is pretty common practice. Imagine my surprise when two days after picking up the car the engine light comes on with a code: "cylinder 4 misfire". After two visits totaling 10 days in the shop with no diagnosis made by Foreign Autohaus, and each visit the only remedy provided was adding fuel injector cleaner and being told "well it's not misfiring". I was told by the mechanic "the next step is to replace all 4 fuel injectors to see if that fixes the issue." Upon further research and talking to several mechanics I find out it is uncommon but possible for walnut debris to become lodged in the fuel injector if proper procedures are not followed. I asked Johnny at Foreign Autohaus about this possibility and was told "Not Possible". Now, everyone knows that anything is possible in the right circumstances, uncommon, but not impossible. I took my car to another shop for a second opinion, provided minimal information about my suspicion, and just told that mechanic about the carbon cleaning service and the subsequent codes and recurrent check engine light. Lo and Behold! It was discovered by the second mechanic that there was a walnut shell piece stuck in the 4th fuel injector! The new shop replaced all four injectors per recommendation totaling $2515. See pictures below. Hard to see with the naked eye, but zoomed in, it's definitely a walnut shell. It took me a week to get ahold of Rafael, the owner. When he finally called back he was argumentative, dismissive, and denied all responsibility. I asked for reimbursement of the cost from the new mechanic but instead of recognizing that it IS possible to get walnut debris in the injector, Rafael instead asked ME how it got in there! He then proceeded to give me a list of his qualifications to be a mechanic and shop owner even though he was not the one to work on my car. Sadly it appears at this time Rafael is unwilling to make this right and reimburse me for the damage that his preventative/recommended (not mandatory) service has done. read more

I recently had my 2009 BMW break down--it just wouldn't start. Given the situation, I had it towed to the nearest mechanic, Foreign Autohaus, instead of the BMW dealership. They diagnosed the issue as needing a new starter, but when I got the quote, I was completely shocked. They wanted $1800 ($1450 for the starter replacement and $300 for the diagnosis). I felt stuck because, of course, my car wouldn't start, so towing it elsewhere would just add more cost and hassle. For comparison, the BMW dealership itself quoted me around $1350 for the exact same repair. So not only was Foreign Autohaus overcharging, but they were charging at least 30% more than the actual dealership! When I asked if they had any coupons or discounts, they flatly said, "We don't do coupons," as if to say, "Take it or leave it." This is the first time I've come across a mechanic charging so much more than the dealership. Not exactly what I expected, and definitely not happy burning a hole through my wallet. read more

It is difficult to find an honest mechanic, someone trustworthy and capable of finding a problem quickly, if you are looking for someone with those traits, I recommend Foreign Auto Haus and ask for Cory O'Neil. If you want to be price gouged, bring your car here. We just moved here from San Francisco and I had an amazing mechanic who is reliable, trustworthy and economically priced. I usually drive back to get my car fixed because he is just that great. This time around, I didnt have time to drive to the city so I brought it here. I was initially quoted $240 for an oil change. I brought my car in around 9:15 after scheduling an appt online a couple of days. Around 2:03 pm I get a call from Jhovanny that they have to repair my oil drain plug which would cost me $470 (parts were $50 and $420 for labor which is insanely overpriced). He also advised me that I could get my car towed somewhere else if I didnt want to pay this amount or repair the oil drain plug. I didnt have the time to do this so I reluctantly said fine, just do it. I've brought my car to Niello in Sacramento and they had outstanding service and charged the same amount or even a little less than these guys. I do not recommend them. I will never ever return. They are incredibly overpriced and service is subpar. read more

I came on Thursday morning and they were super busy (which tells you something) but they were able to accommodate seeing me that day. I did make a prior appointment, but I was surprised by the level of service I received, and how quick they were able to help me even though they were super busy. Tyler serviced my car and was amazing to work with! They did a diagnostics on my car and made sure everything was looking good, he drove it around and just went above and beyond to make sure I was in good hands after I left the shop. He said if there's any problems that do come up feel free to come on back. This place was really friendly. I think you pay for what you get! They called me about my Mini and said they need to charge me 174 for diagnostic plus a additional 174 for more diagnostic. Wait what? In my 45 years of dealing with car repairs these guys take the cake. I went to pick up my mini and they wanted 174 dollars which I never Agreed too. I have never heard of diagnosing your car twice. And again nothing in writing. What a bunch of scam artists. Please what ever you do don't take your car there. They are really good at taking money though. And you will get nothing. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! Mercedes S550 owner here. My cars coolant line blew. Had car towed to closest mechanic just to get diagnostic figuring it was easy fix. Found out exactly what it was and where and even got the part number. Being a mercedes I decided to take it to a mechanic that new Mercedes so I called these guys. Gave them every piece of info MULTIPLE TIMES. Could never get a call back, every time I called to follow up they gave an excuse. Literal excuses after every time them saying they would get back to me and never once called me back. I called them every single time. My follow up call excuse. "the assitant misplaced your number and part number. What is it again?", next call..." sorry not can't find the notes, what's your issue?" Next call... " omg so sorry I'll call you back in just a few with that" (no call back) next call to them... "so sorry I'll have that for you first thing in the morning" last call to Them..." so sorry the assitant accidentally shredded the estimate I worked up for you, what is your license plate number?" What does my license plate number have to do with anything??? I had my A7 serviced here for a routine brake job. As soon as I left the shop there was loud clicking coming from the front left brake. They were pretty rude and short with me until I brought it back and they tested it. Apparently one of the parts they used was defective and "sticking" to the rotor. At one point the owner got involved and told me I drove on the brakes wrong and yelled at me and told me I burned out the rotors. I've never dealt with someone who got so aggressive and rude with me because their work/part was faulty. Honestly, I thought at one point the guy would become physical. Another joke of a service they offer....they would offer to get me an Uber or Lyft, but then they would claim the service is too bad in the shop and that the app wasn't working. Yet, I was able to successfully get a Lyft from their shop with my account, so it's clear they are lying when they say that nonsense. But I digress. I wouldn't recc this place to anyone. The other issue was the team found a coolant leak as there was coolant all over my engine. Rather than tell me or suggesting a repair there was no mention of it until I went home and went through their service notes. Don't be fooled. These guys are awful and they don't care about you. Even had a friend confirm it was still pulling to the right on several different roads near my home. Now I'm told to bring it back for them to confirm it's still doing it. $241. My wife and I took our Audi here. The engine light was on, and it had a small oil leak coming from somewhere. We took it to these guys, and they took a look. The car is towards the end of its life, so they found a bunch of other things to fix (contral arms, shocks, etc.). We declined those fixes since they weren't worth it. We were really only interested in the oil leak. In regards to the leak, they said they couldn't look for it until our gas cap was replaced. Those cost about 25 bucks and take a minute to put in, and they charged us 80 or so bucks. Fine. I said okay to it because it was faster to have them do it than for me to pick up the car replace it, and then bring it back. Then they said they needed to clean the engine to see where the leak was. They meant scrubbing some of the burnt oil off the top of it. We authorized it and they did that. This was over the course of a couple days and was hopefully building up to them doing a smoke test and telling us where the leak was. Then they called my wife and said it's ready to pick up. We went down there and were told they couldn't find the leak and needed to come back in two weeks so they could find the leak then after some more driving. Of course, we were promptly charged 500 bucks for the gas cap, the engine light, the engine cleaning, and the smoke test. That confuses me. So we're getting charged for a smoke test and they still didn't find it? That's not a very useful smoke test at all. So in the end, we came in there with an oil leak, and not only did they not fix it, they couldn't find it. We left pretty much how we came in but with 500 dollars less. The car is only worth a few thousand dollars, and it runs worse since leaving the shop. The car squeaks on turns all of a sudden. It was definitely not like that when we took it over. So no, I'm not coming back in two weeks to give these guys even more money and mame the car even squeakier. read more

We came to pickup our car cause they said it was ready and it wasn't and had to come back the next day. Well days later the coolant is still leaking. We took the car back and they said it would be ANOTHER 1k to fix then a few hours later the price magically upped to $1,200. Johvonny said we need another coolant flush which is $287. One of the parts went up $200 in a few hours and when my husband called Johvonny out on the bullshit he started taking in circles. I provided the exact error message before the visit and asked if repair was likely. Was told yes. Spent two days of my life and billed $174 for no repair and told to take it to a dealer. Charged $20 to set tire pressure. It did not need to be set and I did not authorize that service. Charged nearly $300 to change a headlight bulb? When I showed up at my designated appointment at 8:00am, I was told that they may not be able to look at the car today and that they would let me know at 3:00 pm. They told me they would keep the car over the weekend or I could pick it up. I asked why they overbook and the employee flatly told me that "you are welcome to take the car somewhere else." This shop clearly does not care about their client's time. I drove 30 minutes each way to get to my appointment and arranged for a friend to pick me up, just to be told that they may not be able to work on the car today, as scheduled. UPDATE: I had a small issue with my SRS which I fixed earlier but needed to turn off the SRS light too. This is a three to a five-minute job and most dealerships do it for free. There is no BMW dealership near me so I called Autohause and they asked for $135 to do the job. I said that I feel it was too much and wanted him to charge for 15 minutes instead of a whole hour for such a small job. He refused and angrily hung up the phone. I felt this behavior was wrong and left a negative comment about Autohause intention to overcharge me. Just a few minutes later Rafael C. the owner of Autohause called me and used every colorful word in the dictionary to express his opinion. In turn, I added what he did in my comments and left it as that. Months passed and I had forgotten all about this encounter until yesterday when Yelp notified me about a response to my comment. I checked the response. It was from Rafael C. the owner of Autohause. I know people including myself make many mistakes and would have deleted my comments immediately if he had just asked for it. But, instead, I was shocked to see that Rafael have somehow tracked down my information and had posted my name and home address in response to my comments. I take this as a threat and will certainly contact the Folsom and EDH Police Departments to express my concerns and file a report. I also contacted Yelp and asked them to delete my information from their website. This is the first time I have been threatened. I take this seriously, So, if anything happened to me this guy is to look for. He has issues. read more

New to the area, looking for a good mechanic, just needed some rear break pads for my wife's BMW 535i Sport so I decided to give this place a try. They seem friendly when I first brought it in, they ask to leave the car for inspection early the next day so I did. Long story short, got a call from them not long after I drop off the car and they had advise me that they had inspected the entire vehicle and there was a long list of things wrong or needs to be replaced ASAP, not to mention the check engine light is now on after the technician had taken a test drive. I told them there was no light when I brought it in, why is there a light now? The guy at the front desk fought with me for the whole time saying it must have always been there and pretty much saying I was lying. I was definitely frustrated and just wanted my vehicle back at this point. All I wanted were break pads and they quoted me for over $900.00 (pads & rotors) Came back for the car and apparently the owner wasn't please with his employees actions so they decided to give me a discount on the break job to $700 and that they would check the engine light for free. At this point I just wanted to get it done so I agree to do it, Definitely I was not happy. The story doesn't end there, after agreeing for them to work on the car, I get another phone call from the front desk guy a few hours later saying that they have figured out the reason for the check engine light. They wanted me to agree for them to replace the spark plugs, ignition coils And the gaskets for just $1800.00 and if I said yes, they will have it done by the time I pickup my car. Of course I declined and just wanted to get the breaks done. The time finally came to pickup the car, bear in mind that I had drop off my car at like 9am and I get there to pickup at 5:30 pm. Spoke briefly to the front desk guy again, this time he was willing to admit that his technician had probably push the car too hard, hence the engine light came on but they can fix it and if the challenge was just the spark plugs and coils, it would be a lot less. My wife took her car here yesterday and they did a great job. They even called an Uber from her work to grab her car at the shop. My complaint is, without asking, they removed her license plate frames, and then stuck on a pair of their own (front and rear). Then just threw her old ones in the trunk. Now mind you, the ones removed weren't anything special, just Niello Audi frames, but we hadn't removed them because we've been long time customers and are happy to support them. And I'm all about supporting local shops too, but it's really the principal - the fact they did this without asking is very presumptuous. We're already paying good money for the auto service and to make our car a rolling advertisement for their shop, without the owners permission is quite bold. When you're sitting in your driveway, taking off license plate frames you didn't ask for, you may think twice about taking your car back to the shop that put them on there. Returned my car to this shop after a recent visit to address two issues. One was supposed to be addressed last time but they forgot to get to it, and the other was new after picking it up last time, caused by the shop. So not real satisfied with the previous repair. This visit however is the WORST EXPERIENCE at a repair shop. Made an appt for Weds morning at 8. Dropped car off on time and didn't hear back that day at all. Called late in afternoon and was told they would need it overnight as they hadn't looked at it yet! OK...get it fixed and I'll pick it up tomorrow. No call again the next day...so I called mid afternoon and got the same answer. We haven't looked at it yet! But, I was now first in line so I agreed keep it one more night. Called 10:30 this morning...same answer! CAR HAS NOT BEEN LOOKED AT! Not sure why I made an appt for Weds morning when by Friday morning, no one has yet to touch my car. And, the lack of reaching out to me with updates is not acceptable. Not one call or contact from the shop. BEWARE! read more

First time coming here, making an appointment was pretty easy online and they had availability way before everyone else. They seem really organized and have a process / system in place which I can appreciate. I was pleasantly surprised by the transparency. I got a link to a website with a full report including notes from the technician, specific engine codes from the car's computer, a video and multiple photos of the problem, as well as all the details about the inspection they include in the diagnostic, including getting fluids topped off which was nice. read more

I never leave reviews but I had to leave this one. I recently received an oil change from a different company a day before. While driving on the highway with my kid in the car I noticed that my hood was shaking. I was scared that my hood would fly up while driving so I immediately got off and pulled into a gas station. After trying several times with the help of strangers we couldn't get it closed. I drove to Foreign autohaus and was greeted by a nice looking man, very nice looking might I say.
