I have now had three total experiences at this restaurant and all have been amazing. Fat Tuesday did not disappoint, the Prisoner Wine Tasting was incredible and we went for dinner Sunday which was another stellar experience. I have had steak from some of the best steakhouses coast to coast and in-between but the filet with the homemade worcester sauce is the absolute best I have had- melts in your mouth. The owner checked on us to make sure everything was perfect, the manager did the same and was as engaging as she usually is and the wait staff was attentive and friendly. If I could give this place more than 10 stars, I absolutely would!!! I couldn't tell you why I chose this restaurant. I think I was just looking online for something different while we were visiting Columbus and this place caught my fancy. From the moment we walked in this place was special. It has a great vibe. We met some lovely people chatting at the bar. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and helped us pick out the perfect items on the menu. This is such a lovely place that's a tiny bit upscale and a lot friendly . Our server directed us to try the Fusilli Pasta "Liberty Street" Style noodle appetizer with sautéed fish sauce, which was absolutely incredible. Our entrées were the seafood creole and jambalaya. My husband said it was the best jambalaya he's ever had. It's also nice that the owner is walking around, shaking hands with people and talking to his customers. We were also looking for a place to stretch our legs after dinner wouldn't you know there's a park ( Griggs Dam) just feet away from this location. What a find. Loved the place and spoke highly to family and friends. Then took friends from out of town. Individual ordered the Gallo's Famous Muffuletta. Which individual request olives on side. Individual received with olives on sandwich. Being a trooper individual did not send back. After a few bites individual bit into a pit of olive and broke tooth. At the time manger said everything would be taken care. After dentist visit and bill off 5k. Now nobody at Gallos will return emails after manager stated they will take care off. We went here before heading to a Blue Jackets game. It's kind of tucked away off of the main road so I would've never known about it! Great, calm atmosphere. They take reservations, but there was plenty of room between 5-6PM. We were seated right away and the waitress took our drink orders. I got a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and it was $9 - regular priced. It was good! For my entree I ordered a small pasta Russo ($14). The small was more than enough food. I had to stop myself from finishing the entire plate! The pasta was perfectly al dente and the sauce wasn't too salty. Service was amazing. Our waitress was quick, refilled our waters multiple times, and was quick with the check as she knew we were heading to the game after. Would come back! read more

There is a reason this restaurant is ALWAYS packed. We celebrated my birthday here last night, and every minute was wonderful. Mike, our server, made my birthday so special. Nobody in the city can prepare pasta as perfectly as Gallo's! It was a perfect al dente, and the flavors were on point. I could eat that Vodka Pasta every single day. After years of wanted to try this place, I doubt we'd return. Friends wanted to go, so we joined. I got the seafood stew or something along those lines, and it came with a tiny scoop of rice. For $34 I would expect at least a respectable amount of rice, but it was probably the smallest helping I've ever gotten from a restaurant. There were scallops, mussels, and shrimp maybe one thing I'm missing but there was very little flavor. One of the mussels didn't open up and I got it out right away and tried to eat it, but a few bites in the bad flavor of the mussel ruined the dish. They took it off my bill and offered me something else, but I declined. She told me that had a bad batch of mussels and they thought they got them all, but I guess I would think they'd check that before the served it. Maybe it would have been better if that didn't happen and I would have liked the flavor, but I'm not sure. The scallops were cooked well though. Not sure why, but my wife decided to get a burger and it was pretty dry and lacked flavor as well. Her fries were really good. My friend got the lobster ravioli, and I know the portion was small but not sure how the flavor was and he was still pretty hungry. Our other friend seemed to enjoy her swordfish. The crab cake appetizer was great, and the bread with cheese (forgot the name) was really good too. read more

It's really been 2 years since our last visit. My husband chose for our Saturday night out. I made reservations, and for the patio, which we were not aware of. It turned out it's the sidewalk facing the parking lot. To be fair, it is their only option for space. Also, if we had been inside, we would have missed our friends pulling up to the carryout spot. All good. Our favorite apps are calamari and arancini, and they are both very good here. My Grapefruit Gimlet was super tasty. My husband loved the Pork Chop special with haricots verts, and the applesauce topping. I was unsure about my entree. I don't eat beef or pork, and love fish. I wasn't in the mood for either halibut dishes, so I landed on the Seafood Creole. I'd never had creole before, but now I can say I love it and will order it again. I found that this spot had solid reviews so I have it a shot. Very nice laid back atmosphere, separate bar area, very friendly and fast service. This is about an item on the bill which had "CC" fee: 3.5%, which the server said was a credit card fee. OK, this is new (hadn't seen this on our last visit). Didn't receive any kind of info beforehand about this, which is sneaky AF. And they added the fee before even knowing how I was going to pay, which is BS. If you are going to have hidden fees you should really disclose ahead of time, Gallo's. Yes, yes, I know about cc fees they are charged. Not the point. Disclose extra fees before dinner. My boyfriend and I came on a Friday night and I was blown away! I don't typically love creole food but man, I sure was wrong. We started with the calamari which was great. I got the Pan Sautéed Daily Fish which was mahi mahi with crawfish sauce and it was INCREDIBLE. Whatever you do, get something with the crawfish sauce. We went here for my sister in law's birthday and I was extremely impressed but it was prior to yelp for me. Due to the wonderful experience we wanted to make reservations for Valentines Day. The ambiance is casual but slightly romantic if that is a thing with somewhat close and comfortable seating. And the lighting is warm and dim. The menu is Italian and Creole style and the dIshes vary from Spaghetti and Meatballs to Jambalaya. Which both are amazing as well as the Filet and the scallops. Prices are extremely reasonable, especially for how great the food and the service are. Last night we split the Arancini which are fried cheesy rice balls with marinara sauce. Gallo's has some of the best. As well as the bread and Caesar salads. We had some fun strawberry muddled mocktails as well. For our entree's we had the spaghetti and the fusilli pasta. The Liberty street fusilli pasta is an appetizer but it's definitely enough for a meal. It's super rich and creamy crawfish sauce is so good and I even had enough leftover for lunch today. The service was also impeccable and the chef makes a point of stopping by tables to check in and thanking people for stopping in. It's a very nice touch and makes every visit even more special. I came here recently with my book club and had a really nice evening. At first glance, GKB doesn't look like much. The parking lot was super crowded and I had to do a few laps before finding a spot. The interior was a little bit dark and loud. It's definitely not ideal for a book club meeting but my experience definitely improved from there. They have a very comprehensive wine and drink menu and so I had plenty of choices. They also have a rotating menu that offers a wide variety of options. I was pleased to see that they had a lot of seafood options and I ended up ordering the seafood gumbo. It was absolutely delicious. I loved the bread that came around the table before the meal and my meal was absolutely perfect. Our server was excellent. One member of our group had a mishap with a spilled glass and they were right there with napkins and assistance in cleaning up. For a large group, we didn't have to wait long at all for our food and overall we had a really good time. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely come back! read more
