Chicken Style Rice / Arroz con Pollo lunch special
Kathryn W.

Gallo gets an easy 5 from me these days. It's a family staple for us and consistent as they come - with excellent specials! The lunch specials with their early happy hour can't be beat. Service is always on point and friendly. This place has been around forever for a reason. We've also ordered their Pernil for a catered meal and it was 10/10. No doubt this is one of our local favorites.

Our server Carla was on point. Friendly, patient, attentive and service with a smile. An asset to this restaurant. Actually entire staff today were super friendly and worked in harmony. Our outside patio seating surrounded by beautiful flowers for privacy was perfect. Cocktails and lunch were delicious. The fajitas were exactly the way I remember from several years ago except the portion was a bit less. But, what restaurant/business hasn't been downsizing? We enjoyed this beautiful day in Patchoque! Thank you!

Gallo is a fantastic spot to visit in Patchogue Village. To begin, the owners Carol and Dave are awesome. They are warm and welcoming and truly add to your dining experience. This translates to the staff. They are all positive, friendly and attentive. Tip of the hat to Herbert, Karla and Gi Gi. My wife and I tend to dine at the bar and they have always provided amazing service and a friendly smile. The food here is delicious. Always hot and fresh. We have dined here regularly and the food is consistently made. The menu here is extensive. You can't go wrong with anything here. Our favorite is the Gallo fajita Supreme. This is a sizzling plater loaded with steak, shrimp and chicken. The portion is very generous. The rice and beans that accompany it are tasty and authentic. This dish is cooked with the most delicious blend of spices and flavorings. We have dubbed this "The best dish In Patchogue " Also delicious is the Gallo Chicken. Lightly breaded and butterflied . A favorite of our kids is the Campers platter. This is a large portion of assorted meats that compliment each other beautifully. While you are there, make sure you have a cocktail, or two. I recommend the Cadillac Margarita. Another top notch cocktail is any of the flavored Mojitos. All made with fresh juices. Check this place out as soon as possible. The menu is so large you can go multiple times and always get something new and delicious.

Gallo, or should I say the Big Rooster, located in Patchogue, Main Street where everyone comes to have a great time having good food, and a greater time with friends and family. Gallo offers some delicious mouth watering authentic Colombian cuisine. For starters I would highly recommend the shrimp ceviche. 6 generous pieces of shrimp, served almost shrimp cocktail style with onions, lemons and a side of 2 green plantains. Your mouth will certainly start watering! Beautifully done. For my main entree I got their churrasco steak what came with a healthy amount of rice, beans, extra onions for a few bucks for and avocado! Mmm mmm mmm talk about delightful! The avocado slice was at an extra charge as well but you have to get the full Colombian experience am I right ? Tambien, moving on! My friend ordered the rotisserie style chicken wrap. The Smokiness of the chicken mixed together perfectly with a bed of yellow rice? You can't go wrong! I would like to give a little recognition to Karla our waitress. She was phenomenal! She told us about their signature white sauce they have table side and guys, all I have to say is YOU HAVEEE TO TRY IT WITH YOUR STEAKS! Or even the rotisserie chicken! It was so good I wanted to take the bottle home with me! Karla made our dinner experience so much better and meaningful. Ensuring our food was on time and that we didn't run out of beverages on our table. We arrived a little late before closing but Karla ensured us that we had enough time to have a wonderful time, at Gallo! This is why I'll be back again and again! Truly the definition of quality customer service!

We decided on Gallo after checking out a few menus while walking in Patchogue. The drinks were decent and there was a huge menu. I enjoyed the wings and my wife liked the potato cake with cerviche. I had the campers platter and my wife had the seared shrimp with rice and vegetables. While this had 4 stars; I was highly disappointed. I found the meat very dry or very tough. My wife found her meal to be bland. A lot of people like this place; I would not come again.

Delicious Colombian food on Main Street. We came for a late lunch. The scampi shrimp was perfectly prepared in a buttery garlic and the green sauce on the side is a must if you like a little spice. Our waiter was wonderful and the food came out in timely fashion. Portions are average in size, plenty of rice. Our drinks were refreshing. The berry drink was mixed with water and had a bitter sweet taste. The passion fruit was better in my opinion also mixed with water. There is outdoor seating in front. Would have liked to come at night. Assume the rest of the dishes are equally delicious, they were pretty busy for 2 in the afternoon.

Arroz Con Pollo lunch special

If you're looking for a solid lunch special option in Patchogue, Gallo is your spot. They have generous portions and the price is right. Service can be a little bit slow but the ambiance is relaxed and there's good people watching out on Main Street if you snag a table near the windows. In the summer, they open the windows so it's almost like sidewalk dining. I have had their catering too which was excellent.

Amazing! Came here for my mom's birthday. We arrived at 7pm and parked in the parking lot next to…read morethe library in the back. There were signs saying there was metered parking. But the metered parking machine wasn't working. A local told us we didn't have to pay. We walked inside and was greeted by a friendly server. The table was already set for us, and she brought out menus for us. They gave us water in plastic cups. (I think this restaurant is mostly popular for its take out service more than its dine in service. While there was only 3 other tables seated besides us, their counter was overflowing with takeout orders. We ordered the Pollo a La Brasa, choritos a la chalaca, choclo con queso fresco, chicha morado, frijoles, and arroz amarillo. They took our order and gave us puffed corn, and some kind of cream salsa verde sauce for the table. The chicha morado was good, sweet and slightly spiced from the cinnamon it was refreshing, light and sweet. First came the mussels, they were topped with a salsa, lime juice and corn. They were overcooked and dry. I don't think people normally order the mussels, so I don't think the chef knew how to prepare it properly. Then came the rice and the roast chicken. The yellow rice was so flavorful, fluffy, and good. The roast chicken was amazing. Very flavorful, and the meat fell right off the bones. Then came the beans, and corn appetizer. The corn appetizer was kind of weird. It was just slightly warm corn with small logs of cheese on the side. I was expecting like a roasted corn with fresh cheese crumbled on top with spices. There was very enthusiastic Latino music playing from the TV the whole time. The whole place felt fun and inviting. It was pretty casual, and the waitresses were friendly and kind. They were decorated for Halloween with decorations, and orange lights lighting up the walls. I think next time we'll just stick to the chicken, beans, and rice. They were very nice in letting us being our own birthday cake as well. They gave us small plates, and forks and knives. They gave us plastic utensils. I guess they didn't have small dessert forks. Overall wonderful experience. Just don't order something atypical I guess.
