Changing my rating to 5-star because this latest experience was great. All their food is consistently delicious, wait times are reasonable, dining area is always clean, and wait staff are quick and attentive. Here's what we ordered this time around: - Pollo con champinones: chicken breast sauteed in creamy mushroom sauce. Served with yellow rice and green beans - Pollo con camarones: chicken breast and shrimp sauteed in creamy Spanish seafood sauce. Served with yellow rice and green beans - Torta de tres Leches: Sponge cake soaked in condensed milk, half & half, evaporated milk, topped with strawberries and whipped cream Everything was so good! I look forward to returning and trying more on the menu.

I used to frequent this restaurant before Covid & my mom loved it so I've held on to a fantastic memory of the place for a while now. I've been raving about it for years & we were finally in the area to stop in for dinner. It was Friday night so the place was packed which was a good sign to me! We sat in the corner, the seating between tables was super tight and my chair was pushed up against the wall so I couldn't move back or around. They tried to seat 2 other parties behind us and they reseated elsewhere or outside because they couldn't pull the chairs from the table to take a seat. Great! We had a corner to ourselves. The Pro is the service was phenomenal. I cannot complain; not at all. We ordered just waters since we're not heavy drinkers anymore & the wait staff ensured our glasses were always full. Our waitress was attentive and delivered everything we ordered perfectly. The Con is the food. It was off putting to me for the restaurant to be so busy; birthday party, families with children, date nights & the chips and salsa served to start had... stale chips? We had 2 servings and they weren't all stale but some were so maybe they pre-made the basket and this one came from the bottom of the stack? Idk. The salsa is odd like a duck sauce, mango salsa? It was sour sometimes & I questioned what it was made of the entire time. I was hungry so I ate it. We ordered the calamari as a starter. It was rubber. Chewy. Frozen Rings. I was hungry so I ate it. The sauce on the side has no flavor. It was not a red sauce. My bf had the Arroz com Pollo! It had chorizo in it which he did NOT enjoy & he said the chicken had no flavor, it was all bland. He said, "This is great for dog food!" as we packed it to go. I had the Cerdo Empanizado. No complain on the pork loin but the pinto beans were a horror. I had to smell them each time as I ate them like what the hell was wrong with these beans. At first I'm thinking "Oh I know! They're beans from a can." I smell them. "Oh I know! They're made with bacon?" I eat them. "Oh. Are these.... Expired?" I'm thinking... HOW. The restaurant was so busy. I'm thinking maybe they're frozen & then thawed out per order? WTH NO WAY. Yack. Idk. I couldn't sleep. This place was great. Sucks to lose another one to Covid.

I've lived in the area for YEARS and am so angry with myself for never visiting this establishment before today. It's another one of those places that if you didn't know, you'd miss it. Clean and nicely decorated. Also has limited outdoor seating. Service: Staff was extremely friendly although a guacamole appetizer that was ordered never arrived so that was disappointing but there's always next time. Drinks: We went for happy hour so drinks were plentiful - mojito (one of the absolute best I've ever had), glass of sangria (also amazing, wasnt your simple boxed wine mixed in fruit), margarita and poloma (smokey and delicious) Food: The foooooood. Starter chips and salsa were served while looking over the menu. I'll agree with others as the salsa fell a little flat and was a little too sweet for my tastes but the chips were great annnnnd they were free and plentiful so they were a welcomed addition to the meal. Let's get to why you're all here though, the food.....oh myyyy, like I said at the beginning I am so disappointed in myself that after all these years, this was my first time visiting. The menu is extensive, so be prepared. We landed on the paella and skirt steak w/ shrimp. The paella was massive, literally overflowing with clams, mussels, chicken, sliced steak, shrimp and chorizo all of it outstanding and served piping hot. Equally as good was my others meal. Giant skirt steak cooked perfectly with tostones, rice/refried beans, and shrimp in a chipotle sauce. Everything was perfect. TL:DR - Friendly service, meh FREE salsa, amazing food. Must try. Happy hour - Monday to Friday 3-6 pm.

Our waiter Yani was the best! Everything was top shelf..Margaritas were to die for Fahitas were fresh and delicious! Definitely going back!

What a great spot we found tonight. We ate outside w Latin music and we didn't need to wait for a seat. On the south side of the building there was no wind. The host lit an outdoor heater to warm my husbands back. The night started w mojitos and margaritas both oversized drinks. The appetizer of guacamole was freshly made and outstanding. The dinner was so tasty. Arroz con pollo was just perfect w shredded chicken and chorizo sausage in the yellow rice. Served in an iron skillet it stayed warm even outside. My husband got the pork shoulder w rice and beans. He loved it and and I watched the meat fall off the bone. Delicious. Flan for dessert was phenomenal. The service was perfect. Never felt left alone outside. They were there just when we needed. So nice to eat outside one more time this season.

Just focus on the pupusas! Hand made to order and It's a spot run by women from El Salvador. When we first walked in, the most delicious aroma of onions, peppers and spices being simmered somewhere in the back of the shop made our mouths water instantly. The menu says $8 for 2 or $11 for 3... They mean you get either get 2 or 3 pupusas in an order of the same kind, not 2 or 3 varieties for $8 or $11 in an order, make sense? Their Revuelta pupusa was tender and seasoned just so on the filling, their Birria pupusa was SPOT ON! The broth served with them was fantastic! Their chicharron pupusa was again soft with a nice crunchy filling as well. The house made salsa roja is beyond delicious, I wanted to drink the bowl of it that was served with the pupusas! Horchata was one of the best we've had too on LI! It's a bit lackluster for decor and seating but it's clean and the food is fresh and damn delicious!

Taco Primo in Ronkonkoma is a bit of a drive but so far, they've been the best ones I've tried. A for effort though.

Eat Unique Indeed…read more We were famished for something brunchy this past Sunday, and were looking at different places to go to. Went to the Watermark, parking lot was inaccessible, seems people don't know how to park over there. Even the street spaces were full. We headed further west, Flying Pig was closed down, we had been to Crazy Beans, then a quick Google search pulled up a spot we'd never heard of before. Pulled up to a strip mall where BlackSheep was located, nice big parking lot as expected. Walked in, and we were the first ones there. The place smelled fantastic. We sat ourselves and perused the menu. The server came by and enumerated the specials, but I was fixated on Braise your Belly. We also got me-mah's mac and cheese, and started off with the Roasted Garlic Northern Bean Dip and the Minestrone soup. The Bean Dip starter was fantastic. All the little things you need for a perfect bite. A scoop of bean dip on a toasted pita wedge, stick a couple of kalamata olives on the bean dip mortar (3 olives were too much), add pickled red onion and fire-roasted peppers, then top with crumbled feta. Amazing bite. I had a taste of the Minestrone, and it was excellent. Flavors were all there without being overdone. The pasta was nice and cooked just right. The mac and cheese was perfect. I couldn't put my finger on the cheeses used, but it all came together nicely. You didn't just get a mouthful of one cheese flavor. It was creamy, balanced, and the crispy onions on top made it really nice. and the stunner. I am a big fan of pork belly, and this really piqued my interest. Served with lemongrass grits and pickled veg with a soy miso glaze. The pickled veg was tossed in a bed of leafy greens, and I saw some seaweed salad in there as well. A little bite of the grits topped with the salad was amazing. I've never had that combo before. A little tart, a little salty, nice umami, I could have eaten a bowl of just that. However, when the pork belly came into play, everything changed. The crisped, lightly charred crust on the fatty slices of nirvana by themselves were perfect. Cut a piece of it and lay it on the grits-salad bite, and you can feel your eyes roll backwards. I wanted to, and almost ate it all, but I left a slice for my girlfriend and topped off her little bit of mac and cheese that she wanted to take home. Half an hour in, and the place pretty much packed out for a bit while they were doing a healthy amount of takeout/pickup orders. The place is pretty simple: interesting Black Sheep art, with mostly little tables, plasticware, and a drinks cooler. The food can certainly be right at home in a fancier and upscale setting, but doesn't need it. They had one server, and she was delightful and attentive to everyone. The chef came around and asked how everything was, which I find is always a nice touch. Definitely coming back.
