Just focus on the pupusas! Hand made to order and It's a spot run by women from El Salvador. When we first walked in, the most delicious aroma of onions, peppers and spices being simmered somewhere in the back of the shop made our mouths water instantly. The menu says $8 for 2 or $11 for 3... They mean you get either get 2 or 3 pupusas in an order of the same kind, not 2 or 3 varieties for $8 or $11 in an order, make sense? Their Revuelta pupusa was tender and seasoned just so on the filling, their Birria pupusa was SPOT ON! The broth served with them was fantastic! Their chicharron pupusa was again soft with a nice crunchy filling as well. The house made salsa roja is beyond delicious, I wanted to drink the bowl of it that was served with the pupusas! Horchata was one of the best we've had too on LI! It's a bit lackluster for decor and seating but it's clean and the food is fresh and damn delicious!

I don't mind waiting if I can see the food being prepared. Unfortunately, the pupusas were soggy and greasy. The salsa was good. It's possible they weren't made from corn and I'm used to corn. Taco Primo in Ronkonkoma is a bit of a drive but so far, they've been the best ones I've tried. A for effort though.

That being said- this place is GREAT! Across the way from the Metro-North at the Port Chester stop and adjacent to Run & Hide Brewery on 30 Broad Street. The decor is typical of a Latin establishment with its native, folkloric art on its walls and heavily patronized by Latinos of all backgrounds! The food is comforting, tasty and very filling. The service was attentive and the bathrooms were spotless and private. Definitely a gem if you're traveling out of Westchester or returning back. Looking forward to stopping in again on our way home to Connecticut.

Oddly enough, I've been to El Salvador on vacation so I was crazy excited to have their food again. My husband and I each got the combination plate of Dos Pupusas Con Arroz Frijoles Y Platano (Two Pupusas w/ Rice, Beans, Sweet Plantain) for $17 each. We could have shared one! It is so much food, very hearty too. You get to choose the two types of pupusas you get, and it also comes with a cabbage side salad. It was simple, authentic, and tasty. We had also gotten a separate side salad, so we were absolutely stuffed and had some food left over that we unfortunately could not take with us. It feels like you're at someone's house eating their family's food, and it's actually family-run so that aligns. The service was quick too, which I'm sure is because people go here before shows, so they are used to it. If you're looking for quick, simple, and delicious, especially before a show, I would check this restaurant out.
