Can you eat a lot? That should be a pre-requisite for this place. I came here for lunch with my mom and we were sitting at a table that could seat 4 people. The waitress came by and asked me if I could move my phone off the table... I was confused UNTIL she filled the table with a ridiculous amount of banchan. My mind was blown by how big the serving sizes are and for an extremely affordable price point! The food isn't the best Korean food I've ever had, but seriously... I could have had a full meal by just ordering a bowl of rice to eat with all the banchan. The stone bibimbap dish is MASSIVE... I warned you, don't say I didn't. It is definitely enough to feed 2+ people. The waitresses here are so sweet. When she saw that my mom and I finished the bibimbap, she congratulated us and told us we did a good job HAHA We were a bit embarrassed, but it was good to get the recognition.. especially since my mom was on a mission to finish the bibimbap and ALL the banchan O.o The owner also continually walks around asking if anyone needs anything, which I thought was a great example of how management should be done. Came here because I was sick of feeling like a pig at Picnic Garden. The contrast between the two was evident. It was great to eat really good quality bbq and banchan, tho the variety of banchan was lacking. We only had BBQ so I can't comment on anything else on their menu. We got the beef short ribs which were super tender and marinated just right. They give you so many banchans? and they were all so delicious. I am so happy to have gone to a proper Korean restaurant again! We didn't come for the BBQ, but that's OK, because their casseroles are amazing! We ordered the seafood casserole and a seafood pancake. We were only a party of three, so we weren't prepared for the amazing banchan that they brought out, which were all, of course, all you can eat. All the banchan were delicious and fresh. The one that I've never had was the raw crab. It was delicious and unexpected. The seafood pancake is the best I can remember in a long time. The batter was light and crisp, and nothing was too heavy, meanwhile there was a LOT of seafood. The sauce that accompanied the pancake was great. Meanwhile, bubbling to the side of us was the seafood casserole. Although the octopus wasn't great (I wonder if it just got overcooked), everything else was delicious -- particularly the crab! This restaurant was a huge disappointment! This used to be my go to korean bbq spot. I decided to go back after a few months and things have definitely changed for the worst. We were a party of two and when we walked in the waitress immediately sat us at a table without a grill, without asking if we were ordering Korean bbq. When we tried to order the Galbi the waitress exasperatedly told us that we should've picked a table with a grill to sit at, as if WE were the ones who made that call. Whatever, we let it slide and decided to order just one order of Galbi (so that it doesn't have to be cooked at a table so as not to inconvenience her) as well as 2 other non bbq dishes. Before the food came the waitress came back and told us that as a "favor" she was giving us each a side of sliced onions because normally they only give one side for one order of Galbi. The food came out and everything tasted just ok. The biggest disappointment was when the Galbi came out, there were only about 7-8 small, thin pieces of meat. This ONE order of Galbi cost 40.99. I thought, maybe it tastes amazing, since it was so expensive for such a small portion, but of course it was also just ok. I couldn't believe that I spent my hard earned money on this mediocre dish. We both left unsatisfied after paying a pretty hefty bill and went to grab some McDonald's afterwards because that was the only thing I could afford after this meal. Worst experience ever! Ended up walking out after having difficulty communicating to staff. The first time we went , we went with a larger group of 8 and found the food to be satisfactory but expensive. None of us spoke Korean and luckily the waitress that served us understood some English. I decided to return the second time with my husband and daughter. We were asked whether we were going to BBQ at the table, to which we said yes. This time we were not as lucky with an English speaking waitress. After we ordered, the waitress gave us a sour look and began complaining to the woman who seated us (I understand Korean but do not speak it) that we orderd only one order of Kalbi which by the way was $32 and so overpriced for such a small portion of food and a separate dish (not a BBQ). The woman then asked us to move to another table because apparently in order to sit at the tables with the BBQ grills, there is a 2 order minimum, which was not explained to us 1st, when we were being seated and 2nd, when the waitress took our order. Of course after some back and forth with a different waiter that seemed to have a better understanding of English, we said that we would order 2 orders of the BBQ. At this point, I am feeling unwelcome by the wait staff. The waitress then comes out with the Kalbi, already cooked from the kitchen. No panchan were brought to our table, just the lone Kalbi dish placed on the table and the waitress said it was the same as BBQing at the table?? We got up and left. I don't understand how you could live here, work at a business that requires you to communicate with customers and not understand a word of English?? One of the best bbq place I've been to. Their side dishes are beyond amazing when you order bbq. Please keep in mind the number of side dishes they provide are different when you order bbq and non-bbq. However, I have never been to a bbq place that provides so many high quality side dishes! We are s group of 5 who have the dinner over there, the beef is ok, but the fish is very fishy and small that cost $32. The big problem is that we just finished the dinner and talk, one of the waitresses ask us to move to another table to talk. This is place is definitely sub par for korean barbecue. The most important thing about korean barbeque is the way the meat is cooked. If you get a server/waitress that does not know how to grill properly than it will ruin the experience, with that being said the quality of meat is not so good. There is soo much to write about this place. If you have never been to a Korean BBQ you need to get there. They are very quick with the food so if you want a place that gives you apps then give yous a 30 min break then main course then dessert, this isn't the place. They have a full menu of items, but unless you know your in's and out of Korean BBQ I recommend sticking to the most popular item, which is their marinated Korean short ribs, which are different from normal short ribs. It is called Galbi I believe and it is amazing. So you enter the restaurant and have a seat at your own personal BBQ Table. I have been going to Korean BBQ for about 10 years now so I know to order some other things like the seafood pancake pizza as an app if you want or the simple chicken/beef fried rice as a side for the meat. The waitress brings over a circular metal bowl with extremely hot coals and sets it into your grill and then starts the amazing meat cooking, which they do for you so don't worry if you are afraid of cooking your own food. The best part of this place is the complementary sides they provide you, It is about 8-10 small dishes of various Korean foods such as vegetables, fish other delicious Korean treats cooked with their own sauces and spices (FYI - if you like spicy food, you will love a lot of their dishes). So as the meat is cooked the waitress gracefully places these tender, marinated, delicious pieces of meat on your plate. As you can see from my pictures you get plenty of food!!! read more

Their #2 on the kalbi menu is better than the #1! The service is really good here and like most of the other Korean BBQ places in the Flushing/Bayside area, some of the wait staff speaks Mandarin (which is awesome so that my mother can communicate what she wants). They're pretty generous with their bonchon and never give you looks when you want second helpings. We always order several entrees of the kalbi, a soup or two, and an appetizer dish. The hae mul pa jun is crispy and pretty good. Seolleongtang (bone marrow soup) and naengmyeon are also yummy. read more

While you shouldn't be coming here for the side dishes, they do give you a lot of them. The jap chae is decent and bbq isn't too bad. They cut it a little too thick so it's chewy. I came a few times the last time it was slower so the service was more attentive. They speak very little English so communication is hard when asking for certain dishes. Thanks to the other yelpers who helped us make the decision to go there. We went early (no we're not retired, we like to avoid the crowds) and got one of the grill tables. Charcoal grill!!! The service was great - so nice and helpful, she laughed when we ordered soju. We got the short ribs (for two) and kimchee casserole. The banchan was wonderful - fresh flavors and a nice balance of sweet, salty, fishy, spicy. there was baby bok choy kimchee - so tasty (and cute). We ate and ate. Dessert was a bit odd but fun - tiny plastic bottles of some dairy-like citrusy drink. I would have liked fruit, but this was amusing. I've been here a few times with my family and decided to bring some friends . We definitely got jipped. service was horrible and portions were small. I don't know if it was because my friends and I are relatively young or because they're not Korean so the restaurant thought I wouldn't know the difference but we ordered 2 servings of bulgogi and 2 of galbi and they brought the bulgogi precooked without asking if we wanted to grill it ourselves or not (you should always cook it at the table) and it looked like a ban chan it was so small . I couldn't understand anything the staff was saying ..we wanted to cook the Korean BBQ ourselves but they didn't have room to accommodate us for that table, so they cooked it themselves in the back ..
