Had an awesome first experience at Galactic Fried Chicken! I went on a Friday evening with 2 of my friends and the staff was very friendly we took a seat at the booth and ordered at the counter once the line was cleared. They were definitely busy but didn't let it show they made recommendations and went out of their way to be friendly. The food came quickly and was delicious! I didn't personally eat the fried pickles but my friends enjoyed them. The tenders were so crispy but also thick and the meat was not dry at all. I feel like sometimes when people get the tenders that crispy the meat dries out but they have it figured out. Fries and bread were a great add on and if you're a sauce person you must try their Galactic sauce. All around and great experience and we will be back! read more

Went for dinner on a Saturday. It is set up to order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. The staff was very nice and made us feel right at home. We got a half chicken and some sides. Everything came out piping hot and was really tasty. I was not a super fan on the mashed potatoes but thats just my taste. We will stop by again next time we are down that way. read more

I'm afraid this place didn't do much for me. The chicken was a bit on the tougher side, and the breading came off before you get a bit into the chicken. The seasoning was way too salty for my taste, but most folks might be fine with that - I just try to eat less salt. The fries were also dunked in a lot of salt. It was all freshly made though. The guy at the counter was new and checked in with me many times. So the service was great I'm sorry that the food ended up not to my liking. I wouldn't send my friends here myself. read more

Easily the best fried chicken around. So juicy and flavorful. Been here multiple times and never had a bad meal. Service has always been very friendly and quick. I know there are times when people have had to wait a bit. The place isn't built for quantity - only quality. The only negative thing I can say is that if you sit in the front, prepare to leave with a bit of the "chicken aroma ambiance" with you. Glad to see this small operation continue to succeed when others seem to struggle. read more

We just moved to the area and were excited to finally have some gluten free fried chicken. Wow! Galactic Fried Chicken hit the spot! The crunch was perfect, the chicken juicy, and the spice blend was on-point; plus the owner and crew were super nice and welcoming. Definitely try this place out :) read more

It was a bit of a haul for us to make it to the Galactic Chicken but it was well worth it. Freshly fried and quickly served makes a happy customer. They have sides but the chicken and the cracklings are what you want to eat if you come here. All chicken is prepared as the order is called out. Ventilation of the fried chicken exhaust might be a plus but until they get some, you get to leave smelling of fried chicken goodness. Homemade sauces were offered but I personally liked the malt wine vinegar that was just sitting on the table. Also, a good selection of beers but whenever I see a low end Hamm's Genessee or Pabst I get pretty happy. Love this place - good food, friendly service and a pretty reasonable price. Eat of luck to them! read more

Where had this place been my whole life?! Come to this place HUNGRY! You will not be disappointed. I have never seen Chicken tenders the size of my hand before, but they stayed really juicy. The seasoning is a little different and scrumptious in the breading. Even the pickles are hard to beat. We can't wait to come back for the bone in Chicken. They even have an alcohol selection. Make sure to try the galactic sauce. A little like a creamy bbq with a tiny kick. read more

Galactic Fried Chicken - Tenders to die for. - Chicken Shop Near Me - Dayton, Kentucky

Finally tried Galactic this evening. You can tell that this a popular local dive. Employees were friendly and welcoming. Music was good and just the right volume. While the price point was reasonable for two people ($45 for two people...9 pcs of chicken, coleslaw, fries and a drink), the chicken was not as tasty as we had hoped for. It was very salty. The tenders were large and other pieces were good sized. It was well cooked and food was hot. The slaw was average but the fries were fresh and good. Probably not on our list of restaurants that we'll drive 40 minutes to eat at again. The place could use a renovation on the inside without losing too much of it's history. Recommend? Only if you're looking for some hot, fried chicken and aren't too picky about taste. read more

81 reviews and the company still hasn't claimed the business, I find they odd. I'm a southern gal and know fried chicken when I taste it. We have it for church picnics, firehouse fundraisers and for different holidays. With a name like this, they definitely stood out and we were ready to try it. A quick ten minute drive, we ordered half a chicken and loaded fries! Yee haw, we were hungry and ready to eat. The half chicken came with a few dill pickles on the side and some coleslaw and I was excited for that. I always love to try the slaw but they only had a large size portion on the menu and I didn't need that much. The breading on the chicken is great, it's full of chicken flavor and reminded me of chicken ramen noodles as crazy as that sounds. It just tastes very similar to that seasoning packet. The white meat was tough, almost tasted like it wasn't done. I kept trying with hopes in every bite it would get better, but it just didn't. I couldn't eat anymore, the texture was off and weird and I was not enjoying it. The brown meat was a little better, but not much. All of the breading came off with one pull off the chicken leg. It's like when you take a bite of the pizza and ALL the cheese comes off the slice in one bite. Coleslaw was juicy and not dry but didn't have much flavor. The fries were great though and we loved the buttery, garlic parmesan sauce that they were coated in. At first, it was weird because you don't really see the seasoning or sauce but definitely taste it! Not sure if we tried the chicken on the wrong day of the week or what, but we were not impressed. Not many things can compete with the best, Libby's! read more

I have heard nothing but great things about this place and today I got to see what all the hype was. Fantastic gluten free fried chicken. Hubby and I both got the chicken tender basket and I had no idea the tenders would be so big. Glad I didn't order extra but they heat up good. We both were full after eating one and half pieces. Everything in the place is gluten free except for garlic toast. The Galactic house sauce was also really good. Not only was the food great but so was the staff. A great experience overall. This is a must try for those with or without gluten issues. read more

Galactic Fried Chicken - Dark Chicken Combo - Chicken Shop Near Me - Dayton, Kentucky

The fried chicken experience in Kentucky has been rather two dimensional for as long as I have lived in the area. As if decided by a coin toss, chicken restaurants often nestle themselves into either underwhelming, clumsy down home diner style, which often sacrifices flavor complexity and overall experience, or a high-end boutique style chicken restaurant where millennials will drop $3-4 per (albeit tasty) wing to accompany a pricey craft beer. For years Kentucky's fried chicken game has left me hungry for more. However Galactic Chicken has a docile storefront, comfortable and immersive interior and open diner-style kitchen that will greet you with smells and sounds to foreshadow your golden brown destiny. One of three people behind the counter will take your order while the other two continue crafting some food in the back. Prices are probably the most fair I've seen across this region of chicken restaurants, no entrees exceed $9, sharables are in the $4-6 range and all the sides are $2-3. All the food is made to order. I'll say that again for those of you who only know chicken to be kept under a heat lamp for 30 minutes before you get to it at most restaurants: the food is breaded, seasoned and fried to order. So the wait for the food is going to be about 8-9 minutes. The back patio is just about as nice as it could be, wedged between the two buildings. Tables were clean and spaced apart nicely, music is played lightly in the background. In a few trips we were presented with drinks, then sauces and pickles (which are on the house) then our fried pickles (nicely breaded and a perfect pair to their house made ranch) and finally the chicken and sides. The chicken legs (four drum sticks) were, with confidence, the best fried chicken I've ever had. An intense crunch without any pockets of excess oil, season heavily with god-knows-what and, when dipped in the galactic sauce, an overall flavor profile that rivals any overpriced boutique chicken I mentioned earlier. The chicken tenders have that same texture and flavor, but with tender and extremely juicy boneless white meat. The fries and Mac were both plenty standard, but a good accompaniment to the main picture. The food was filling, easy on the wallet, and not so greasy that I feel the need to detox for a week, in fact you might catch me back here before the week is out. It's a new day for Kentucky fried chicken, and galactic chicken is leading the charge. read more

Galactic Fried Chicken - Left to right: Chicken Tenders, cole slaw, Mac, fried pickles, Fries and a PBR. - Chicken Shop Near Me - Dayton, Kentucky

I honestly have no idea how this restaurant doesn't have a full rating. I'm no one to judge peoples experiences, but if you had a bad experience here, then it most certainly is an outlier. So, I only visited here this one time since this is my first time in Cincinnati area. This review could have got a completely different route. But it didn't, and here is why. I showed up and all the booths were taken. There was a bit of a panic going on with the employees, and I was told that I had to wait 20 minutes to even order because they were down to only one fryer after two others had broke. Fortunately, I had nowhere to be and nowhere to go, so I decided to sit in a separate seating area that was not prepared for guest yet. I ran into the owner, and could tell how flustered and frustrated he was. He apologized through and through to me about the situation, and continued to run rampant throughout the restaurant, trying to solve the problem. Shortly thereafter, I went and placed my order of three chicken thighs and Texas toast. After a short while my food was delivered to the table, I was seated at. I began to peel the skin off of the first thigh to take a bite and could smell the seasoning. Steam came off of the chicken and as I ate the skin, I was immediately fulfilled. I have eaten a lot of fried chicken in my life being from the south, but I can honestly say with a straight face that this is the best fried chicken I've ever had that I can remember. Most of my reviews contain comments about sides and drinks and service. However, with this one, none of those is necessary because I just simply don't care. The fact that the chicken was this good was undeniable. Sure, the Texas toast was tasty, but that chicken... Unbelievable I can't wait for the next time that I visit Cincinnati so I return to the establishment kudos to the owner and his staff for taking care of his customers while in frantic mode. But truly, your product speaks for itself. Congratulations. read more

This place was amazing! I have to eat gluten free and the chicken was all fried in gluten free ingredients, which was so exciting for me. The galactic sauce is like a spicy aioli and is perfect. I literally created a yelp account just for this review. My wife is gluten free and we've heard about this place for some time and have never made the trip. Well today we finally did and I'm upset we never did it sooner. The food is simply amazing. Finding quality gluten free food is rare but not at Galactic Fried Chicken. Their chicken is so good you can't even tell it's gluten free. I'd put their fried chicken up against any fried chicken whether it's gluten free or not. The staff was friendly and the place has a cool vibe. We ordered: chicken tenders, fries (1 order with spicy rub, 1 without) and fried pickles. All are standard gluten free and very very good. The tenders are huge! Crunchy and flavorful outside but very tender and juicy on the inside! I recommend the spicy rub for the fries. They serve a ranch and a "galactic sauce" with their food and both are great as well. The galactic sauce is similar to a canes sauce but maybe not as tangy. Overall an amazing place I highly recommend and can't wait to try again! read more

My husband and I ordered pick up: he got the club, and I got the wrap, and we got 3 sides. We didn't receive the 3 sides with our order, but that's not the problem I had. The food we got was great, but when I called to rectify the 3 missing sides, I was extremely displeased with what I heard... The man on the other line was very friendly, but whoever was in the background was EXTREMELY displeased with the employees that there were missing items. There was shouting, cussing (the f-word was shouted several times), and banging like something was thrown down. It was very disturbing as a customer to be hearing this. Who I was speaking with on the phone was apologetic, but I could hear his nervousness as whoever was speaking to him in the background was clearly furious. Safe to say, unless there is new management, I will not give business to an establishment that treats their employees this way... I'm not as upset with the missing items (we all make mistakes) as I was with what I heard happening on the other line... Very unsettling. read more

We ordered carry out from Galactic and we were not disappointed. I tried the 3 piece tender meal that came with fries and a small side of cole slaw and Galactic sauce. The sauce was delicious. The tenders were cooked to perfection with a juicy center and crispy breading. The breading isn't your typical flour blend. It seemed to have a cornmeal texture to it (which would make sense since it's gluten free). The size of the tenders were huge, pretty much a whole chicken breast each. My husband tried the jackfruit nuggets (vegetarian version) that came with fries, cole slaw and sauce, and he enjoyed it. We'll definitely be returning. read more

The lovely Katie took me here today for my inaugural visit. What a cool place..! As you might guess, a bit space themed, but in a fun & goofy kind of way. The food was excellent..! Not a huge menu, but still plenty from which to choose. Beer & boozy drinks available. Indoor and patio seating available. I had the thighs, Katie had the tenders, and we split the fried pickles. Chicken was well seasoned & tender. Crispy outside & juicy inside. read more

While I did not visit this establishment personally, I did have carry-out and I must say the chicken was moist & tasty and the galactic sauce & homemade pickles were a welcomed accomplishment. I did have issues with the cole slaw, over all it was okay\good but it was also smallish and was more cole than slaw(ie-very soupy). They had an interesting selection of extras and drink options but I was disappointed that they didn't offer chicken livers. If anything, I was just happy it wasn't another new chicken place that only offered fingers and little else. read more

I have celiac disease, and even when most restaurants say gluten-free, I still get sick, but not here! I loved the food here. This is the worst fried chicken I've ever had. I ordered a wing and a breast and couldn't eat it. The smell alone was revolting and made me think that the breast was spoiled. I didn't get physically sick from the bite that I had but it turned my stomach for the rest of the day. So I don't think the chicken was spoiled but if its supposed to taste and smell like that it's hard to believe people actually eat it on purpose. read more

People who worship Chick-fil-A are basic, boring, potentially homophobic, and not creative, especially if they live near Galactic Fried Chicken which takes the pickle brine method and perfects it. Their chicken tenders are enormous and have the best breading I've had in years. Their deviled eggs are literally good enough for Jesus. Finally, they also serve beer and love things like evolution and space, so obviously they're more fun than Chick-fil-A. Love this place. Love their chicken. We started off with an order of the loaded fries and they were out of this world. We got some chicken tenders and I got an extra wing to try, becasue bone in chicken is always different then tenders. The tenders are really good, and they're huge. But the bone in chicken is where its at. Dont sleep on it . only thing. Was on sure how I felt about the galactic sauce but Id try it again.
