Pork pate chaud
Amy E.

Hubby picked up food here a little later in the afternoon so everything was not available that we wanted to try. We got the chicken and pork pate chaud and were immediate fans! So flakey and the meat was flavored really well and very moist. We got the Viet coffee and it was nice and strong with a wonderful roasted aftertaste. The steamed pork baos were just ok, we found the bao to be a bit dense and the filling a bit too sweet.

The BEST pate chaud, we were brainstorming places for a light snack with morning drinks and our vietnamese friends eyes lit up when I was reading Gala off the list of some places I had bookmarked. They vouched for the chicken and pork pate chaud as well as the banh mi. Unfortunately they had no bread today so we were not able to try the banh mi. Good news is we were able to try 6 each chicken and pork as well as their baos. Pork pate chaud, very large triangle puffed pastry. The meat is super well seasoned and is stunning. I left some for a Japanese relative picky about food and she loved it. The chicken one is the size of the pork pate chaud at other places and I liked it more since it felt more bite sized and not so large. Same insanely good meat seasoning as the pork, this is my new favorite. Baos were good, the quail egg ones were very fresh today. I didn't like the ultra thin layer on bottom of the bao because it felt like the meat was going to fall out so I ate them upside down.

My all time favorite coffee. The best Vietnamese coffee I've ever had, and I've tried a lot. I drive 25 minutes every week to get some coffee and chicken pate chaud. The coffee is so flavorful with a good kick. I honestly can't get enough of this coffee, it's seriously the best I've ever had. And the chicken pate chaud is so perfect for a simple morning snack. It's on a small street and hidden in a small plaza so make sure not to miss it!

This is our go-to bakery for pate chaud every time we stay overnight in OC. We would wake up and bring back a dozen for breakfast. The pate chaud is moist, juicy, the puff pastry is consistent and not dry or broken or oily. The chicken is made in a square shape and the pork is in a triangle. I prefer the chicken over the pork. Both meats are very flavorful but the pork is oily and a bit more salty. I also prefer the chicken because it's in a square shape. You get the equal proportion of meat and puff pastry. Whereas, the triangle pork shaped is airy, my meaning of bready because the pork is in the center so you'll have to bite through each corners of just bread before you can get to the meat. If the pork was made into a square shape, then I wouldn't mind. The chicken is cheaper at $1.35 each versus pork at $2.15 each. I also tried the chocolate croissant. It's the rectangle shaped not triangle croissant shaped. The chocolate was evenly distributed throughout and not so sweet but I feel something is missing with the outer shell. Eating the pate chaud fresh out the oven is the best. Parking here is limited but people do leave rather quickly to pick up and leave. They sell beverages like Vietnamese coffee, mung bean, and mung bean with pandan as well as Vietnamese sandwiches, sweets, and other items found on the counter.

I stopped by here for some quick snacks with my family during our trip in California. The place is small with limited menu, so we just ordered the pandan leaves mixed with green bean drinks, which is the only thing they have on the menu other than banh mi (vietnamese sandwich). The drink was a tad bit too sweet for me and very concentrated. I had to water it down with ice to make it taste better.

I enjoy their coffee and chicken pate chaud. Everything is pre made so freshness will vary when you come in. Still very good overall. Are they following covid food safety protocol? Ive seen money handled before and after items have been given on several occasions. Come see for yourself.

FOOD - Coconut & Flan: pandan leaf jelly, coconut jelly,…read morecrystal pearls, tofu, and flan in coconut milk. This was probably one of the best che I've had. It was so good and refreshing. It had the perfect amount of sweetness. 5/5 SERVICE: Fast and friendly. When you order to-go, you get a bag of ice to keep your che cool. 5/5 FINAL THOUGHTS: I'm adding this to one of my must-have places when in SoCal.

My family and I came here on a Sunday afternoon and this place was vibing! The area is spacious with high ceiling so it definitely created that energized and loud environment, but also nostalgic for me. The service was top notch! The cashier was extremely friendly, approachable, and efficient! How can you complain about that? We wanted to try different desserts so we can all get a little bit of taste test. We got the avocado (chè bơ), the three colors (chè 3 màu), matcha tofu, and tofu flan (đậu hũ flan). Avocado - 4.5/5 everything used fresh ingredients. It's not avocado season so it wasn't as soft as it should but still pretty good! The Three Colors - 5/5 very sweet but because the ice is set to the side it was perfectly balanced and you can adjust to your liking. Such an iconic dessert in the Vietnamese community! Matcha Tofu - 5/5 if you love matcha you will love this! It's not sweet and if there is it's very faint, but you definitely can taste the matcha shine through!! Tofu Flan - 5/5 perfect balance of creaminess and sweetness!!! Very lightly sweetened and I would come back for this again!
