I very rarely post. But I was blown away by the experience. My iPhone had a spider web of glass where' my screen used to be. They quoted me a fair price to fix my 7 plus. I came in and the phone was fixed promptly and well. He threw in some tempered glass to save me from myself. I never felt pressured and enjoyed chatting with Jay. Will come back for my other uh ohs. read more

Jay is really one of a kind. I have gone to him for every obscure electronics problem I can name, and broken iPhone screens are only the start of it! He does great work, at a fraction of what Apple's Genius Bar will charge. And he will do repairs that they won't (because Apple wants you to buy a refurbished phone!), such as replacing the camera lens. I strongly recommend him! And he has honored his warranty -- even with cracked screens! (My daughter is harsh as heck on her electronics!) read more

The place is great, and Jay is really kind, good man. It is an excellent experience to get service from Jay. I got the best deal from Jay for my cracked screen, rear camera, and battery exchange! I will recommend Jay and his shop to all my friends! Finally, thank you so much, Jay! read more

Jay was incredible and patient when fixing my phone and helping me with a technical phone issue once my screen was perfectly fixed! i was just in chicago for the weekend when my phone broke, and I could not be happier that I chose to go to Jay at Gadget Garage! incredible service with best prices I could find! read more

Jay's the man!! In the past, I've taken a MacBook in here w/ a broken screen/backlight as well as an IPhone w/ a broken charging port. Jay came thru for both of those repairs for a really fair price (WAY below Apple)... both items were ready within a few days GOOD AS NEW ! I'd recommend anybody taking what they need repaired here before anywhere else (seriously, you can walk in w/ anything lol). Super intelligent/honest owner that WILL NOT "up sell" or overcharge you on a thing. The world would be a better place if all businesses operated like Gadget Garage. read more

Super nice dude and has a very clean shop. Always the best guy to come to ! Owner is super welcoming and friendly.

My boyfriend recommended this place after they fixed his iPhone 8 camera a year ago. He was super impressed with their customer service, and they switched out different cameras until he was happy with the final product. I went to them when my beloved 4 year old iPhone SE had a cracked screen and dysfunctional home button. They did a great job and were very reasonably priced. I will not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of phone and computer repairs. read more

Went in with a broken iPhone X screen and a complicated phone situation. Jay was kind and friendly, gave good recommendations for my situation, and was quick with the repair! He provided options for screen repairs - most places I've been to previously only have 1 screen type/price option. He even contacted me to let me know I had forgotten my umbrella! I'll only ever come here for screen repairs. Very satisfied. read more

I sent this place a message on yelp and within 15 mins I got a response, questions were all answered and even made my appt. He even threw in a free screen protector. . Also the price is a fixed $86 which other places quoted $110. I would recommend this place to friends for sure. Thanks for a job well done! read more

I reached out to a few businesses here on yelp for a quote on a repair for cracked iPhone screen. Jay got back to me in a timely manner with any and all info I needed for the process. I was waiting for my replacement before contacting Jay again. Set up an appt for drop off a little while later in the day. Took around 30 minutes. Upon pick up he was so kind as to replace the screen on my damaged phone, which I thought was super cool. Great service and really cool guy. Would most definitely recommend Jay for his stellar service! Thanks again! read more

Jay fixed the charging port on my iPhone and replaced the battery. I dropped in with no appointment but he finished the whole job in about an hour while I was at the gym. And he gave me a discount on the battery service. Less expensive and faster than the apple store, plus no apple store hoopla. read more

Requested a quote and got an immediate response. Came in the in the same day and had my repair done in just 20 minutes. Gadget Garage quoted the best price by far out of 4 other companies and owner is extremely nice. Will return if I have any other iPhone repair needs. read more

Last week, while on vacation in the Wisconsin countryside I discovered my Iphone had a damaged charging connection. Because I was nowhere near a location for my service provider or a repair shop I had to make do without my phone for several days. On returning to Chicago I researched repair shops in my area and came upon Gadget Garage. I messaged Jay and gave him a brief description of my problem and he returned my message within minutes advising me that I could bring the phone in for repair when he opened later in the morning. I took my phone in, as advised and Jay had it repaired for me in barely over an hour. His excellent service was very reasonably priced and based on my experience I can't recommend his work and his customer service highly enough. I will certainly recommend him to all my friends and acquaintances . read more

Hands down the best phone repair shop in Chicago, 10/10 would recommend. Jay did an amazing job fixing my iPhone XS Max, finished the job faster then i expected. Was very professional and helped me understand different types of screen options and choose different price points. Definitely recommending him to friends and family. My iPhone6 was losing battery charge so quickly, now I know it's from those sneaky Apple jerks and their master plan for all of us to buy new phones every two years. Well not so fast thanks to gadget garage. We dropped the phone off on a Sunday morning, went for a great brunch at Flo and returned to a perfectly working phone. For 50 bucks, with fast and great customer service I highly recommend coming here for your battery replacement. read more

The owner is so nice and does a great job. We've gotten several phone screens fixed here and they're perfect every time.

I have been coming to Gadget Garage since I moved to the Wicker Park years ago and have not looked back. Jay is hardworking, honest, and more than fair with his pricing. He has fixed countless phone screens for me in the past (sorry to my iPhone) but, recently, he went above and beyond for me when my MacBook Air died and Apple would take a couple of weeks for me to come in to even troubleshoot my computer. The repair proved to be more challenging than expected (to say the least). Throughout the process, Jay kept me informed at every stage and was transparent with his very reasonable pricing. read more

Great experience today at the Gadget Garage. My phone was ready when he said it would be and it looks perfect. Thanks!

The owner is so nice. Fixed our screen in 15 minutes. Gave lots of advice on switching cell service as he used to work for one of the cell companies. Also suggested options on getting the best phone deal from the companies. Hope I don't have another broken screen again but if I do, I don't have to figure out a place to take it. read more

Jay was thorough and replaced my iPhone 6 battery at a reasonable price. He was accommodating, and my phone works great. If you have any issues with your phone, I recommend you to reach out to him; he is very knowledgeable. read more

When I initially contacted this shop, I was very wary because I thought I was contacting the prior store at this location. They are very close to my apartment and had fixed my phone before, but were always closed during business hours and seemed a little shady. Fortunately, the new ownership is a huge improvement. The owner was very friendly and helpful. He talked me through the issue I was having with my iPhone and was able to fix the damaged part with a new replacement at a very reasonable cost. The repair was performed very quickly while I waited, and I've had no issues with my phone since. Would highly recommend this place to all of my friends! read more

So glad I found this place! My iPhone 6 was just about dead in many ways (cracked screen, dead battery and a few other tech issues) but I was not about to drop $500+ on a brand new one. Jay fixed everything that needed fixing for about 1/4 the price of a new phone and it's running like new now. Nice guy, great service and a total bargain! I highly recommend Gadget Garage! read more

Even after store hours Jay is amazing. Great price and great work. What more can I say. I definitely would recommend his shop to everyone who reads this and too all my friends and family. read more

I usually dont write yelp reviews but this one had to be done. My macbook has been revived from the dead by noone other than Jay ! There was massive water damage and my macbook wouldnt turn on. I contacted so many other repair stores and all of them were charging me more than I could afford. Jay replied back to me within seconds. Not only was he professional but he got the job done. We all know water damage is the scariest thing when it comes to apple products because its always a lost cause. But gadget garage came to my rescue. I recommend him ! Trust me you wont regret it . read more

I called for an estimate on my IPhone 6s screen replacement, and the gentleman told me $85 and it's done in fifteen minutes. He also shared that there was a yelp $10 for $20 deal. I was in and oh I'm 25 minutes for $77. I found the location super convenient for me, and it was $8 cheaper than the last time I had my screen replaced. Also, they had super friendly service with no wait. Highly recommend! read more

Jay is quick, knowledgeable, and personable. He had my phone back up and running within a couple hours, despite having to order a necessary part. I would go back to him with any other phone related issues and would highly recommend others do the same. read more

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience here was awesome. I dropped and broke my phone screen and brought it in for an appointment. The part was a little harder to find, but Jay was able to fix the screen pretty quickly. Unfortunately, there was a problem with that part. BUT, he did a lot of work to determine that the problem was the part and not my phone AND he found another supplier and was able to fix the phone relatively quickly afterwards. And for a reasonable price. I would absolutely use this place again -- I hope I won't need to, though. But I recommend it to you! read more

I requested a quote via Yelp for a battery change on my Nexus 6P, and Jay answered very fast and thoroughly. Also, he beat the rest of the market with an extremely reasonable price. He didn't have the battery in stock, but ordered it to arrive in a matter of a few days. When I went in, he just had me drop off the phone and said it could take up to an hour. I went around the area to grab a bite to eat, and he called to let me know it was done in only 30 to 40 minutes. That's what I call super speedy service! The phone has been working great so far, and I am very satisfied with his services. Jay is a very personable and knowledgeable guy. He even said that he quoted me less than the usual price, but had no problems with honoring it. Gadget Garage is without a doubt going to be my new go-to for any tech repair needs. Thanks again Jay! read more

I dropped my iPhone, completely shattering the screen. Gadget Garage was very responsive in providing an estimate for repair. They got me in same day to fix it at a very reasonable price. I was really happy with everything from the repair to the customer service. I hope I don't have to get this kind of repair again, but if I do, I will most definitely come back to Gadget Garage! read more

I have gone to Jay,the owner numerous times, for last minute help with iPhones and shattered screens. He is beyond professional and has a sense of urgency and even came to my home to help me before a trip out of the country. He also brought me a new case to mitigate risk on the beach for me with my vacation to protect my phone. Needless to say- I wouldn't ever think of going elsewhere for any needs and I LOVE that they cater to their clients. Amazing ! read more

I sent out a request for a quote to replace my broken Galaxy S5 LCD to a few stores in my area through Yelp, Jay was the quickest to respond and offered the best price. I was also encouraged to go to Jay because of the very good Yelp review/ratings, which I typically take into consideration (so far with excellent results). Took the phone in, got it back after few days since the part was not in stock. Overall, it was a very good experience and feel like recommending Jay to anybody for this type of projects! read more

If I could give 10 stars I would. I have never had such an amazing experience with my iPhone repair in my life. Jay is quick, knowledgeable and super experienced in the technical world of phones. I didn't even think the phone could be salvaged and within very short order he explained the problem and had the screen working. Needless to say I walked out with my iPhone feeling brand new and looking the same. He was also very fare on price. I was fortunate enough to have a friend recommend Jay and so I highly recommend him to you. Don't even bother going anywhere else... PS: He is also very friendly...... read more

Fixed my iPhone screen in half an hour. Really great service

I cracked the front screen of my note 9 and needed a repair. The entire process of getting my screen fixed was very smooth. I asked for a quote through yelp and jay responded instantly! I put down a 50 dollar deposit to order a new screen which took about a week to be delivered. Then I dropped the phone off at the shop which took about 3 hours to repair. Gadget Garage follows safety protocols with the staff wearing face masks and they even have a machine to sanitize your phone. Jay notified me when my phone was ready for pickup. After picking up the phone that night, my phone started having screen issues. The screen would slowly fade into a green and was no longer usable. I contacted Jay about this issue and once again his response was very prompt. He told me it was a screen defect and he would order another one. He even gave me the option to put back my old screen on the phone so I can continue using it until the new screen arrives. Sure enough it was a screen defect as my old screen still works with no green fade issues. After the new screen arrived once again I brought in the phone to be repaired. The new screen had no issues. Since he orders the screen from 3rd parties its not really his fault for the screen defect. Although my experience was not ideal, I really appreciate Jay's service. He basically replaced my screen 3 times and didn't charge me anything extra for it. Would definitely recommend Gadget Garage for your device repairs. read more

Could not have asked for a better experience. Fast, professional and high quality! It would be a mistake not to come here

Jay is friendly and so easy to work with. He replaced my i-phone charging port after another business put a faulty one in. We all need our phones RIGHT NOW and Jay was able to accommodate my needs for a new charging port within an hour of me calling him. He ran diagnostics and gave me my options. He is very good at what he does and I'm so fortunate that I found him. I'll be back if I need any other needs with my phone. read more
