Let me start out by saying that we discovered this hidden gem on Yelp, and my friends and I had the best experience! The view is incredible and the wines were great--exceeded all expectations. What stood out the most was the personal customer service we received. It was like we were right at home and both gentlemen were kind and generous to us. I want to give a shout out to Tyler who was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and has a great attitude, even when we asked for re-visits and had questions about the vines and the history of the winery. This is a great place to just stop in or to spend a few hours at, the vibe here is casual and great for an intimate wine experience. I will be back! read more

Called last week and they said they would be open til 5 today. Says the same on Yelp. Was a long hike to get out to the winery as they are off the beaten path, and no signage makes it even a little more challenging. As we finally arrived, the silver haired fellow who worked there was a little too happy to turn us away with a big smile on his face, claiming they closed early. We were really looking forward to tasting. We told him that we drove a long way from Southern California. It felt as if he enjoyed saying no and didn't even consider for one second obliging us and giving us a short tasting. To me that isn't the spirit of wine country. read more

We brought a group here for a tasting before my friend's rehearsal dinner and G V cellars totally took care of us! The wine was delicious. We all went home with multiple bottles and the prices couldn't be beat. Definitely would recommend making the trip here! It's so beautiful. read more

It was fun "discovering" this winery. It's nestled off the beaten path in a truly bucolic setting complete with a farm dog and free-range chickens. And the important part--the wine was good and the service was wonderful. The tasting was actually free, and they even let my friend bring is 120 lb dog inside to hang out with us. (Although if your dog does not do well with chickens, I would not recommend bringing him or her.) read more

Loved the wine and the friendly, cozy tasting room. We normally prefer reds, but honestly enjoyed the white. The reds were all amazing. I was romanced the beautiful nose and the smooth, fruity finish of the bourgelais Dolcetto. My partner was seduced by the bold smoothness of the cab. Stopped by here for some tastings and it was amazing. Barry was our wine expert and was amazing. He not only was super knowledgeable, nice, and welcoming, but was very helpful for us as he knew we were from out of town. He gave us a detailed map of all the local wineries that were around and current events going on. I only wished my visit was much longer so that I had time to visit all the places he recommended. GV Cellars is a fantastic little find if you're looking for great wine at a good price, friendly staff, and a beautiful setting. Surrounded by vineyards and rolling green hills, this little winery has outdoor patios and decks for you to enjoy the view while you sip some of their delicious wine. Sal, the winemaker and co-owner, makes a chardonnay, delicious red blends, a syrah, a zinfandel and a cab from grapes in Green Valley as well as other places in NorCal, and his wife Claudia runs the business/marketing/event side of the business. They were both pouring in the tasting room when we visited on a Saturday, and they were so friendly and knowledgeable, and even shared their lunch with us--pizza, homemade by a Sicilian couple in the area that have a little import shop. Excellent tasting! Beautiful view from the tasting room, awesome wines. Pours are appropriate for tasting (remember its tasting, not drinking... there are rules!) I'd give this spot a zero rating if I could. Recently had a horrible experience. I swear the tasting room smelled of cigarette smoke and the hostess seemed tired and so over her job. Wines must have been opened for days before poured. Just terrible! I wouldn't recommend this spot to anyone. read more

We were at Costco in Fairfiled and decided to go on a short drive through Green Valley. We saw a sign for this winery and followed the country road. Glad we did. It could not have been more than a seven minute drive from Costco (where 80 meets 680). Tasting was free, so we did not hesitate at all to buy a bottle of wine. Their 2007 Estate Merlot Blanc for $10 was my favorite. The tasting room was up the stairs overlooking the vineyard through sliding glass doors. It was peaceful and quiet and the lady who poured the wine was down-to-earth and kind. If you visit the Costco area and only have limited time to do something romantic, I think you will find this a nice escape. read more

We visited GV Cellars last fall on the recommendation of a friend. I had family visiting from Southern California and we decided to spend the afternoon wine tasting in Suisun Valley. My relatives were so impressed by the wine, that they joined the wine club. The atmosphere cannot be beat in the Valley. They have two adorable dogs that my daughter loved to visit with. She normally hates being dragged to the wineries but now she asks, "when are we going back to the doggie winery". The best thing about GV Cellars is that there is a wine for everyone. Their whites are wonderful but I'm a fan of red wine and they will not disappoint. Go this weekend - you'll never bother with Napa again! read more

The wines at GV rival and, dare I say, surpass any, I mean, any, Napa, Sonoma etc. wines that might be selling for three times the price. They are big, bold, fruity, yummy, tanniny, not just for breakfast anymore, wines. When we first started investigating Suisun Valley, we were so disappointed and vowed never to go back...but we thought, let's try one last winery on the way back to Hi way 80. It was GV Cellars and we were and always are happy we made that decision. I volunteered for many years at the Suisun Wild life center and made it a point to stop by and purchase wines on my way to and from "work". I only tasted going home not going to the center. I was in charge of sweet little lives so had to be good. The wine "stewards" know their wine and will very happily pour you through whatever floats your cork. Also, take a lunch. we went to the jelly belly factory tour and wanted to hit a winery afterwards. so we came upon gv cellars almost by accident. it's awesome. i agree with the person who said it was napa valley 30 years ago. we loved the merlot blanc, but everything was good. we highly recommend. read more

We had the unpleasant experience this weekend at GV Cellars. We were part of the suisun valley Sunday passport wine tasting and our last stop was GV Cellars. The event went until 4:00pm and have 10 wineries to attend. We wanted to patronize each vineyard and support them by buying several wines at each stop. We were a group of 4 and we arrived at 3:58pm to their cellars only to be stopped by a rude woman at the registration desk. Behind her was about 45 people that were ticket holders like ourselves sitting around enjoying the wine & music. She informed us the event was over and when we mentioned that it was just before 4:00, she rudely stated that "AppleTime shows it is exactly 4:00". Then a man came out of nowhere, and was obviously a manager of some sort, also rudely tells us we couldn't come in. We were surprised at how we were treated as though we were trying to crash a private party. We expressed our disappointment and what we got was flipped off by the young girl at the desk. Unbelievable! I guess they lost out in the money they would've made had they let us four in! Terrible manager and staff! We will do these events again, but we will be sure to let people know this is not a winery that should be supported. read more

My friends wanted to go wine tasting and we heard there was a winery near our neighborhood. Little did we know that this beautiful place was a 15 minute walk from home. They were so gracious and the wines were a really good value. We even got to chat with the winemaker for a while, and he was really easy on the eyes. The four of us split a mixed case for under $150.
