If the sale price doesn't come up on the register then they refuse to honor advertised price. Absolute scam. Beware.

Kohl's

I cut through Kohl's to get there. It may have been the first time that I have visited a Kohl's and didn't buy a thing. I probably shopped so such at various Kohl's stores throughout the Twin Cities on this vacation that I was good by the time I hit this store. I like when Kohl's is attached to a mall. You can enter and exit the store without going through the mall. This store does not have a built-in Sephora. However, it does have a number of strengths. I like the clearance section for women's clothing. It is next to the Croft & Barrow clothing. The clearance section has some decent deals if you enjoy finding gems and heavily reduced prices. I am such a fan of small kitchen appliances. I spent quite some time looking at the PowerXL stuffed wafflizer. You can stuff waffles with whatever fillings you'd like. It looked insane, but it intrigued me. The Hallmark section is a staple at all Kohl's stores. This one is no different. Valentine's Day merchandise was out in early January, featuring Snoopy. I didn't really need another puffy coat or jacket. This store had long, light puffy coats that looked nice. It would have been cool if each one had a two-way zipper on it. I feel that my expectations were set way too high here. Kohl's tends to have sales all the time. The deals are great, including the ones at this store when I was there. Curbside pickup is also available. You head over to customer service to fetch your order. It's a clean store. I enjoyed browsing around. Whenever I'm back in Maplewood, I'd drop by this store again and perhaps buy something before I hit FYE! (37)

The Kohls App assigned to this location automatically changes your Drive Up order to pickup. That being said Christmas at Kohls is not the time to wait in line at the customer service line in store. All returns and Kohls pickup are the same LINE! If you're going to offer Drive Up then offer Drive Up. Other stores don't change their methods after you pick up. Also the app will not let you cancel your order until the pickup window has closed 7-10 days later.

Maplewood Mall - August 2025

Maplewood Mall

Major nostalgia as I visited here today considering this is a shopping mall I used to frequent in…read moremiddle school. While many former stores remain, many don't. The decline of shopping malls in general along with world news such as Claire's going bankrupt (as of August 2025 this location has 75% off for closing reasons), the downfall of the economy and inflation have all contributed to the current makeup here. I believe the Maplewood Mall is making space for entrepreneurs to take over varying shops as I did spot a nice handful. Contrary, the mall's buzz is dead and not as lively as I remember. Some things I do appreciate presently are the preservation of the carousel in the main space (it's gorgeous), Cinnabon is going strong and roughly 2-4 large spaces for kids to play. I am all about indoor spaces considering MN is a tough state to live in during the winter. Additionally, I adore the pockets of culture here from Pan Asian Center to smaller shops selling handmade goodies and the neat concept of the cotton candy cloud bar (how fun!). Overall, coming here to get steps in or explore won't leave you with stealing all your money. I'm glad the space is still getting used. Enjoy!!

A wonderfully weird and eclectic selection of shops to browse for a mall. Through thorough analysis…read moreof the cities though this place is by far the best when it comes to searching for blind boxes including the all famous Labubu and even some really fun Lafufus. A lot of the cart booths scattered throughout the mall sell replicas but they can be quite fun for designs and honestly a great place for any one who doesn't know the difference (for parents who are shopping for kids). For the authentic stuff there's the pan Asia center which has a whole section to pick from close to the mall entrance as well as a vendor at one of the repurposed jewelry cases who will let you swap. Another shop for authentics would be at Little Diva Hidden treasure which I've noticed, at least the last time I visited, has cheaper options. Besides this the mall also has a bargain bin store, a make your own teddy bear store (not that different from build a bear), a K-pop store, and several others. In the center atrium there are also usually some bounce houses that I always see kids enjoying. I think the point in coming here is to not expect a typical mall experience. If you do, you'll be met with disappointment. This mall has a place and is one to come to if you're looking for unique items you can't find easily elsewhere.

The kids wanted shoes and watches so really there were a few customers about 20 or 25. Anyways we made to the shoe department, and we started with the girls and of course my husband he needed help anyways we got all the girl's shoes and I mention to my husband we need a buggy so I found one took me a few minutes when I turned around and I see this guy starry at me did not think nothing of it. So, I went where my husband was put all the boxes of shoes in buggy and we started with the boy's shoes all of sudden I see the same guy again I told my husband we are being watched by this fake security guy he goes yea I know. So pretty much mush we were being followed. This guy was like a leash So, we were done in this department, and we took the elevator down to go get the great grand baby clothes and watches for the kids then my husband tells me there's another fake security guy on your left I said what the effing shit it this. This was the most uncontrollable experience that we ever had we are in our 60s what the hell we don't have to steal we have jobs. These two idiots they were like LEASHES. At one point i was going to say something but I would be wasting my time. Then we go to cash out and there's no cashiers in front or the back we had to go to the Sephora makeup area oh my goodness, :( Let me give you a tip on your security have them dress neat clothes and not walk like clowns. As far as your cashers well you need to hire more. Will I come here again NO. :( I will be at the Rosedale Mall No Stars

There was only one register on the lower level and the cashier was not friendly at all. The customer before me asked if she can pay her JC penny card there and the cashier told her to go upstairs, but she ended up taking the customer's payment anyways. She didn't want to do her job nor did she act like she cared. Why do they hire people like this and not see a problem at all? A smile goes a long way.... Train your workers with basic customers service skills if you're going to hire them!!! The dressing rooms were also messy at the beginning of the store opening. The workers act like they don't want to work there. One manager came and did apologize after I stated my complaints. We waited over 45 minutes for check out. This business is going to close down soon. I can foresee this and wouldn't be surprised. Worst customer service I have ever experienced at a department store. Kohls and Macys are in the same mall and I did not experience this over at their stores. Good bye JCPenny!
