It's also right next door to El Loro, so we end up popping in after we've gorged ourselves there. The cashiers here are friendly, and there is actual staff in the store to help when you need it. We haven't had to hunt down anyone when we've had questions. The one downside is that the grocery section isn't as big as I'd like. We do get the things we want and need, so there isn't a real complaint. I also wish that they had a better variety of larger cuts of meat. We stop here for organic meats when we don't feel like driving all the way over to Trader Joe's or Whole Foods.

Even after repeating myself multiple times, I was either brushed off or directed to the wrong area. I was looking for insulated bags and, being from out of state, I wasn't familiar with the store's layout. The first employee I asked went to speak with another worker, but instead of helping me, both employees walked away. The second employee pointed me to a completely different section, and the third directed me to the camping department. After spending nearly an hour searching the store, I gave up and left without finding what I needed. It was frustrating and a complete waste of time. Management needs to do a better job training and supervising employees to ensure customers receive proper assistance. I will not be returning to this Walmart and would not recommend it to anyone expecting decent customer service. I'd give it zero star if I could.

My favourite TJ Maxx store is in St. Louis Park. I now have this one to add to my list. First, this store had four Kipling bags. It's a win these days if you can find one. The handbag and luggage section is amazing. I ended up with Mickey and Minnie luggage tags. You can never have enough tags when you travel often. I've been into frothers lately. They are great at home and on the road when you are mixing powdered drinks. I found one that charges with a USB cable. It also has both frother and whisk attachments, which are cool. I spent a lot of time in the kitchen accessories section. You can get everything from a mini hand chopper to an assortment of reusable straws. I got a mini ice cubes tray. Making mini ice cubes seemed like fun. It is! If you love Hello Kitty merchandise, this store is for you. It had Hello Kitty-branded hairbrushes, makeup mirrors, cosmetic bags, luggage tags, and more. I like looking at lip balms and glosses. This store had so many. Oreo. Jello. Hershey's. Fruity Pebbles. EOS. Burt's Bees. The assortment was incredible. I briefly looked at the clothing sections. If you are looking for affordable clothing to support your favourite Minnesota sports team, shop here. I saw hoodies, t-shirts, and more. The phone accessories section makes me happy. It's typically by the checkout area at any TJ Maxx. This store didn't disappoint. There wasn't a huge lineup to pay for my items. The woman that I got at the checkout was competent and nice. I paid with a credit card. I tapped my card and all was great. She placed my items in a plastic bag. I thanked her and happily left the store. There was plenty of parking in front of this store on a Friday evening. It's a great store. I'll be back. (419)

The Rack in Maple Grove is decent sized and well laid out. They tend to have a bit of a smaller selection of the higher end designers that you can find at the Mall of America Nordstrom rack but still a decent variety. They carry women's, men's, children's, shoes, accessories and home goods. Parking is plentiful but the traffic flow is a little tricky directing you right into the first row. That row gets 100% of incoming traffic so I'd recommend parking one or two over. Customer service here is always good. While you are kind of on your own to hunt the racks (if you want a personalized shopping experience head to the actual Nordstrom's) the employees always seem to be in a good mood and helpful when checking out. Dressing rooms are always clean and they have plenty of spaces to try on items. It helps when people return unwanted items to the return racks so do your part and don't leave them in the room.
