I really like the jewelry section on the TJ Maxx side, and found a few fun holiday jewelry pieces. I always love putzing through the body and self care aisles too to find some deals and markdowns. In the HomeGoods section, I found a great ceramic tree and a few other pieces! It's really fun to shop around here with the variety they have. Only downside is sometimes the line can get a bit long for checkout, but they keep it moving pretty well.

This Macy's is huge!…read more I don't typically shop at Macy's much (or any bigger retail store like this really) but we happen to find parking near this wing of MOA. I could see Macy's being a one stop shop, they sell a bit of everything; furniture, home goods, clothes, toys, snacks, cosmetics, jewelry, etc. They almost always have some sort of sales going on & you can find some good deals here or there. We stopped at the pandora counter (yes, inside of the Macy's). We were able to peacefully look around without anyone greeting us or pushing us to buy. However we then made the mistake of walking through the perfume department. They were a very pushy about selling, EVERY perfume was their last bottle. Macy's is known for being a fragrance HQ. They have many scents you can't find in store anywhere else. So it's nice to be able to go in a smell something before you drop money on it. They also do refills on certain perfumes which is nice to save money & reuse your bottle. I love perfume but I can only take so many different smells before it starts to give me a headache. Every counter wanted use to smell 3-4 different perfumes which was a bit much. Like I said before they offer so much here. Worth a browse AND they have Tii Cup on the 3rd floor of the store!!

I stopped in a few days before Christmas, and I actually had a few things yet I wanted to get my grandpa, so this worked out great. At the entrance - and throughout the store - I found free hot coffee, tea, refreshments, cookies, and treats. Maybe it's just a holiday thing but I loved the hospitality. The space is HUGE - so much more than clothes! I had no idea. They have: - books and coffee table books - a whole room dedicated to perfume/cologne and scents - a whole area for cocktail-related gifts - home decor, tableware, and interior decor items - kitschy smaller giftables that were organized by theme (work/office, hosting, etc.) - menswear and womenswear - jewelry - candles - and so much more! I genuinely believe you can walk in here and be sure to find something for anyone on your gifting list. The service was incredible: lots of welcomes and greetings, and staff there to help you if you need it. Oh, they even have a room you can reserve while shopping?! FANCY!

However, a close friend is diving in for his third, and I applaud his happiness. I won't wear a tuxedo, but I needed to have a suit made that would make the bride and the 400 attendees comfortable. The bride already told me not to don a fedora or pink sneakers, although I wanted to. Todd Fliginger at Martin Patrick took me under his wing. Todd is amazingly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. He sent swatches to Milwaukee before we moved to Minneapolis. Tailors were brought in, especially the master tailor Robert, not only to measure, but also to have me try on different designers' pieces to see what would fit well. I am a difficult fit, with a body more like a penguin than a human. That's what a custom tailor in NYC told me. However, I don't nosh on Krill. Todd and Robert took hours to get a correct fit and guaranteed that I would look good. Todd even saved me several hundred dollars off the original quote. ADDENDUM: My suit arrived, and it looked amazing. A few alterations are required to ensure a perfect fit, but that's it. I had a suit made on Savile Row in London that cost more than three times this suit's price, and it did not fit as well. This store should be on every list of Minneapolis's sightseeing highlights. It is akin to a design museum. Everything at Martin Patrick--furniture and furnishings--is for sale, and they're all amazing! Martin Patrick 3 is down-to-earth sophistication, with a NYC or Parisian vibe. Yet, the staff is Midwest empathetic. It is a Minneapolis treasure, as is Todd. I might not be looking forward to this wedding, but at least I know I will look my best.

I cut through Kohl's to get there. It may have been the first time that I have visited a Kohl's and didn't buy a thing. I probably shopped so such at various Kohl's stores throughout the Twin Cities on this vacation that I was good by the time I hit this store. I like when Kohl's is attached to a mall. You can enter and exit the store without going through the mall. This store does not have a built-in Sephora. However, it does have a number of strengths. I like the clearance section for women's clothing. It is next to the Croft & Barrow clothing. The clearance section has some decent deals if you enjoy finding gems and heavily reduced prices. I am such a fan of small kitchen appliances. I spent quite some time looking at the PowerXL stuffed wafflizer. You can stuff waffles with whatever fillings you'd like. It looked insane, but it intrigued me. The Hallmark section is a staple at all Kohl's stores. This one is no different. Valentine's Day merchandise was out in early January, featuring Snoopy. I didn't really need another puffy coat or jacket. This store had long, light puffy coats that looked nice. It would have been cool if each one had a two-way zipper on it. I feel that my expectations were set way too high here. Kohl's tends to have sales all the time. The deals are great, including the ones at this store when I was there. Curbside pickup is also available. You head over to customer service to fetch your order. It's a clean store. I enjoyed browsing around. Barbie is not a big fan. And she will continue from here: BR does not stand for Brazil, unfortunately. They have much more creative and provocative style in BR. At this BR, you can get Boring Raincoats and Banal Ruffles. If you want to look as conservative and preppy as possible, definitely come to BR. Most times I go to TJ Maxx it's just to browse to see what they have to offer. I like that the offers vary a bit from store to store. Prices for most items are fair. I did find a few clothing items otherwise I always enjoy looking at the beauty products, stationery, and phone accessories. They also have really cute tote bags by the register that change seasonally and are only .99. The only staff encounter I had while shopping was checking out. The cashiers were nice. I even seen one offer a kid a sticker which was nice. Overall a decent location.
