For sure feel like it's catered to the older crowd. We parked at Von Maur to cut through to the mall. A few things did catch my eye while passing so we ended up looking around a bit. I did find an item to purchase and walked a bit to find a pay station. When I walked up a customer and the cashier were deep into conversation about vacation and even with me waiting they carried on for 5 or so minutes after the fact. I ended up sitting in the chairs nearby to wait. I can say when they finally wrapped their conversation the cashier wasn't as friendly which made me think maybe I shouldn't purchase from them. There was no "thank you for your patience or waiting", "did you find everything okay" or anything. Overall the store is pretty neat and organized. Not a ton of staff around but also never seen a lot of people shopping either. Items seem to be good quality.

This store is my heaven. I cannot go inside unless I have some money to spend because I will find something I want to buy. TIP: Don't bother heading to the cash registers to pay for your items. Just find a team member and they will check you out themselves without a wait!

Visiting Nordstrom's Racks sometimes feel like a treasure hunt. The Rack in Maple Grove is decent sized and well laid out. They tend to have a bit of a smaller selection of the higher end designers that you can find at the Mall of America Nordstrom rack but still a decent variety. They carry women's, men's, children's, shoes, accessories and home goods. Parking is plentiful but the traffic flow is a little tricky directing you right into the first row. That row gets 100% of incoming traffic so I'd recommend parking one or two over. Customer service here is always good. While you are kind of on your own to hunt the racks (if you want a personalized shopping experience head to the actual Nordstrom's) the employees always seem to be in a good mood and helpful when checking out. Dressing rooms are always clean and they have plenty of spaces to try on items. It helps when people return unwanted items to the return racks so do your part and don't leave them in the room. Overall I think visiting this location is fun and I rarely leave empty handed!

In the past, we've had good luck finding larger items here too, like snowboarding gear and even a Yakima Sky Box (large lockable box we take camping for extra car storage). Not once was it mentioned to me that I could not look at the bridal gowns on the back wall. I grabbed a dress off the back wall and was very rudely approached and told I could not take gowns off that rack and I needed an appointment. This is fine, but the worker acted like I was committing a crime and was extremely rude and unprofessional the way she approached me. There were no signs about needing an appointment or not removing gowns from the back rack. Sales associate with black rimmed glasses and short dark bob. will not be returning.

My favourite TJ Maxx store is in St. Louis Park. I now have this one to add to my list. First, this store had four Kipling bags. It's a win these days if you can find one. The handbag and luggage section is amazing. I ended up with Mickey and Minnie luggage tags. You can never have enough tags when you travel often. I've been into frothers lately. They are great at home and on the road when you are mixing powdered drinks. I found one that charges with a USB cable. It also has both frother and whisk attachments, which are cool. I spent a lot of time in the kitchen accessories section. You can get everything from a mini hand chopper to an assortment of reusable straws. I got a mini ice cubes tray. Making mini ice cubes seemed like fun. It is! If you love Hello Kitty merchandise, this store is for you. It had Hello Kitty-branded hairbrushes, makeup mirrors, cosmetic bags, luggage tags, and more. I like looking at lip balms and glosses. This store had so many. Oreo. Jello. Hershey's. Fruity Pebbles. EOS. Burt's Bees. The assortment was incredible. I briefly looked at the clothing sections. If you are looking for affordable clothing to support your favourite Minnesota sports team, shop here. I saw hoodies, t-shirts, and more. The phone accessories section makes me happy. It's typically by the checkout area at any TJ Maxx. This store didn't disappoint. Only down side is they open earlier and therefore close earlier than other TJ Maxx stores. I'm guessing it's due to the theft/crime the area has been experiencing. Very sad. Regardless, I hope this store stays open and doesn't close like many others have in the area. It's really a well-managed store!

However; I also love coming randomly throughout the year to get updated clothing items. I typically like to check out under Armour and Nike, the Columbia store also has a separate outlet location as well. Recently, I feel like prices haven't been nearly as good as they used to, but in this economy, who can blame them. I would love to see a little bit more variation in the food court, it's mostly Asian cuisines and Cinnabon. All delicious but would love to see some more options. There's a ton of parking, but if you come on a busy weekend, you may not notice and still have to park far away. Bummed to see some recent retailers, leaving, they've been replaced with stores that my opinion were is great. Overall, a decent shopping trip, it's also in a great location. There's plenty of other stores/eating nearby. I recommend checking out the Twin Cities premium outlets if you haven't been there before.
