3.5/5 Nothing to…read morecomplain about here, it's a mall! This one is trying to stay relevant and isn't completely empty like some others in the metro. Some shops are empty and others are being remodeled and opening again. I visited on a Friday (Valentine's Day) and it was pretty steady but not packed, I could find a place to sit down and relax by myself if I wanted to (and I did!) Shop selection is meh, I went into a few but didn't find anything to purchase which is just fine by me - I needed a place to hang out that was warm and this was it! Bubble tea, Caribou and smoothies to choose from - I didn't see a food court but I wasn't particularly looking.

There's only a handful of store I really shop at here but I'm sure overall there's something for everyone. I feel like Ridgedale has been one of the consistent malls (as far as growing up in MN and seeing a lot of malls struggle to keep stores) that never felt like it was closing. I do wish they would decorate more especially for the holidays. They have the Santa pop up in the middle of the mall which is cute but that's its own experience. Also a somewhat better food court would be cool, but there are a ton of options for food outside of the mall/in the area. They do host cool events from time to time like the traveling Hello Kitty Cafe, which is cool.

Plenty of parking and multiple entrances. Make-up counter folks did provide a recently rude experience over price match policy, which when I satisfied all the requirements she still wasn't buying it..had to go to manager, etc...for us to finally get to an end point of matching it nearly 30 minutes later.

If you are a Nordstrom fan in Canada, they are still alive and kicking stateside to satisfy your shopping needs. I recently visited this Nordstrom at Ridgedale Mall. It wasn't that I was dying to shop there. It was the closest mall entrance to get to Urban Outfitters, which was the store that I wanted. I got a prime parking spot in front of this store. There was a woman with a couple of folks chatting in front of her car that was next to mine. I carefully backed into this spot without mowing them over and headed inside this store. I like how Nordstrom is designed. I've only been to now three Nordstrom locations in my life (San Francisco, Ottawa, and Minnetonka). I like how it has places to sit no matter where you are. I appreciate that detail, especially if you have been on your feet shopping for hours and you need to take a load off them. I needed the escalator to hit the second floor. Cutting through this store was enjoyable. I casually looked at the footwear. I am such a casual sneaker fan that I took some time admiring the Converse and Veja sneakers. I also briefly looked at the women's clothing section. Spring colours featuring pinks and yellow were everywhere. They were cheerful and perked me up. I spent a good chunk of time at Urban Outfitters and got what I needed. I then re-entered Nordstrom on the second floor, went downstairs, and browsed the handbags before leaving. This store had Coach handbags. It was my first time touching one. It's not really my style and the price of the one that I had touched was insane. What kind of ruined my experience was the salesperson in the handbag section. We spoke. She looked at the two handbags that I had. One was my usual Kipling purse. The other was a puffy purple purse (I dare you to say that fast) that I had just purchased at Urban Outfitters. Do you think that I needed a third purse? I'd say no, but she thought otherwise. She was now finding small to medium purses for me. I didn't ask for that. Our chat was pleasant, but I was browsing, and didn't need or want any help. I politely declined her help, wished her a nice evening, and left. Maybe I should come back to the handbag section with a single purse next time. I might not forge such a strong bond with staff members in the handbag section. It's a nice store. Immediately when I walked into this Nordstrom, on the left, on the first floor, are elevators and washrooms. I like how this store is designed to make things easy for customers and staffers alike. I can usually find whatever i'm looking for, plus all the extra stuff I end up getting. Prices are a bit higher now & now that they remove/don't put the price on items it's a bit annoying shopping here. The inconvenience of the prices not being consistent is also a thing. I try to stick to what I need only. Sometimes the most interaction I get is the mobile sales people in electronics.

They mostly sell clothes and accessories and it's a decent amount of product to check out. I did find a cute journal that I know my friend would love but when I picked it up it had some kind of liquid on the bottom which was gross. Parking is usually pretty rough at this strip mall but they do have a back lot as well and usually a bit more luck taking that route. One of the cashiers here was taking her sweet time ringing up a customer and the vibe was very weird with her mean mugging everyone. At one point another staff member was walking up and asked her "why are you looking at me like that". So yeah, there's that.

Super impressed with this Nordstrom Rack on the west side of town. I couldn't get over the options…read morethey had in every category (ps and better than the one on my side of town). We bought a sun hat, hair products and a pair of men's pants when we left. I would go back to this Nordstrom rack in a second. This is a Minnesota based company, but they have opened locations in Chicago, Boston, and Atlanta. I love how they have a limited run on shirts so once they are gone, they are gone. Their shirts are great quality, but on the more expensive side. I think they are well worth it though. Especially considering how versatile they are and the fact that the shirts have a limited run. They also have a few GREAT sales throughout the year. Just sign up via email to get their newsletter. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I normally shop at the Ridgedale location and the folks here have never steered me wrong.

Today I see that I was charged twice and there were other charges on my card from JCPennys the day after the purchase and the day after that. My girlfriend also purchased a ring and they sent her the wrong one. I called today and couldn't get through to the operator. Called again and got transferred then hung up on before talking to anyone. Called again and spoke to management saying they cant listen or do anything unless I come in. I don't live in the area. Nice costumer service you have there JCPenny when dealing with fraud! Now I'll have to see about going through the banks and law system. What a pain!
