There were some highs and lows on my first visit to JC Penny since (like April G) my mom used to…read moredrag me here to buy Arizona Jeans before the first day of school. I don't really review department stores or big chains like this very often, but I do think there were some unexpected things about this place that I thought might be worth mentioning. The highs: -There's an entire freaking Sephora store inside this store. When did that happen?! -It's split up into brands like a nicer department store would be. I was shocked to see a whole MANGO/MNG section right up front. It's a Spanish brand (like Zara) that I really like, if for no other reason than it reminds me of window shopping on Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona (which I realize is really obnoxious of me to say, but it's the truth). They also have a Joe's jeans section if you like designer denim. The lows: -Ghost town empty. I don't even know if I saw an employee except two of them talking to each other in the Sephora shop-within-a-shop. Neither of them acknowledged me while I was poking around. In comparison to a normal Sephora where the service is usually excellent, I thought that was pretty out of the ordinary. -The underwear section had very few available sizes for the nicer things. The merchandise wasn't organized nor stocked very well in other parts of the store either. -The music is different as you move from brand to brand... I get what they are TRYING to do, but it doesn't work.

Hours are wrong. They open at 11am now still citing Covid for their hours. Staff was rude.read more

Close to home and I am always a little surprised at how many stores are actually in this little…read moreplaza. I had gone several times to Trader Joe's and did not even know about the Gap, Children's Place, Express, Victoria Secret all hiding on the other side of the buildings!!! There is a Kirklands, Buy Buy Baby, JosABank, also---wow..... It seems spread out enough to get where you want without having too much traffic and parking has never been a problem. The more time I spend at this shopping plaza the more I like it!

So I have always enjoyed walking around Woodbury Lakes . It's calm and there's a few stores that…read moreare nice to stop by. This outdoor mall is dying and today was the first I've been very frustrated with them . Not only are there a lot of vacant spots but they need to work on some signage too. I came to pick up some paper at Michaels and decided since my dog was in the car to take him for quick walk around the property. Let him stretch his legs . Had no intentions of going into any store and he's a calm dog so he wasn't going to disturb anywhere . No where on property were there signs saying anything about dogs not being allowed on property . It's an outdoor mall. A security guard stopped me and asked if I was blind . I'm sure he was trying to be nice and I have very little to say about him . He proceeded to tell me he was told to tell me that dogs were not allowed on the property . Wow ... I politely said I wasn't aware and there should be signs then walked my dog back to the car . This is dying location and it's sad to see that but now I really am not tempted to come back and shop here . Who asks if another person is blind ? It can be perceived in several ways. The best way to approach was to ask if my dog was a service animal . Wow....

This location is exactly what you expect out of a Marshall's. The store is under stocked but clean…read moreenough. It's slightly understaffed, though employees are friendly. The Woodbury Marshalls is the perfect definition of a three star location, it's solid in a pinch, but not something I'd write home about, positively or negatively. At least I got a new reasonably priced snazzy scarf out of my trip to this location today.

And this Marshalls is not getting the quality merchandise they used to get / years ago. Women's clothing is almost a disaster. Fabric, construction, wearability after repeated washing, poor poor poor. I now rate this dept a one star. I stopped looking.. Luggage: used to be one of their top departments where every now and then you found quality labels and some very good construction. Rate a 3 star. Men's clothing you must read labels, examine fabric construction quality VERY carefully i rate a 4 star. All shoes are simply terrible, a one star. Don't even look. Women's lingerie under garments: HUGE drop in quality . Bras have inferior non stretching elastic, most of inventory has manufacturing defects ( must try on), very poor materials. Rate one star. Women's sleep wear: hunt VERY carefully, this was a top dept. rate 3-4 star. Read labels, examine quality of fabrics carefully. Bedding towels: this WAS a 5 star area, now 2-3. VERY high prices, very poor boring selection of prints styles colors. HUGE disappointment. Decorative/ kitchen/ housewares: one of the only areas which is still good. Hunt very carefully, some prices are TOO high. Rate 3-5 star Food products: WAS my favorite, now a 4 star. watch out for very high prices. Some items are poor low quality mfg trying to copy the " look" of famous $$ brands. Lotions /hair products/ face creams/ soaps: The MOST drastic change of all with many products disguised with copy cat labels of expensive brands WHEN in fact... they are poorly made cheaply in CHINA where ingredients for safety etc are poorly monitored. Take GREAT care what you apply to your face. Rate one star. These changes have happened very very fast in the last 18 months- 2 years. Read your sunday sale fliers for bargains at Target, Macy's, Walgreen Target's cosmetics have improved a lot and at decent price points. Marshalls is trying to increase their profits by stocking with pretty packaged decorated designed colored " pretend" products made very poorly in China. READ labels VERY carefully. Take more time to hunt CAREFULLY. There are still some good buys, just not as many.
