Sierra is a great store. You can find many sporting good items at a much lower price than Amazon, Dicks, REI or Cabellas. I often like to buy socks and water bottles here. In the past, we've had good luck finding larger items here too, like snowboarding gear and even a Yakima Sky Box (large lockable box we take camping for extra car storage). I've always received excellent service at checkout. Even when the lines are long, I've been able to check out quickly from a friendly cashier. Keep up the great work, Sierra! read more

The service was really good. They were stocking the shelves and were busy with getting stuff out. I think the only thing I had an issue with is accessibility to some of the aisles that were blocked or had to go in from the other side. But they have an amazing selection of great stocking stuffers and the value of their items is exceptional. I mean the prices were really good for a lot of items. I was surprised and Ben did an amazing job ringing us up at the register. He did it with a smile and was super professional. Sierra Trading, part of the T J Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods Family. Kinda like Marshalls for sporting goods but no way like REI. I found the clothing stock to be in the XS/Small/Medium range for women...maybe I could have found a pair of socks to fit me. My significant other could not find anything that he would want to wear in the mens clothing area. Saved a few bucks there. I did find an UGG Cotton towel for $15 in the clearance aisle. read more

There were about five young boys, working a Store, and to manning the cash register while three sat in chitchatted. I asked them if they were someone else to go up to the cash register to help since there were three people waiting in line and two people at the register, and the boy just looked at me and said, is there something I can help you with? I said yes is there someone that you can bring up here to man the cash register? He stared at me and then walked away. He proceeded to start talking to two other boys looking back at me, and no one approached the cash register while more people came up behind me to wait to be serviced. Very frustrating that they don't understand that their job is to do their job! read more

Since the early nineties I've ordered outdoor goods from the Sierra Trading Post catalog and later Web site. They consistently offer a wide selection of quality brands at often bargain prices. Items that might include discontinued merchandise, overstocks or slight irregulars can be steeply discounted. I was happy to see Sierra open a brick and mortar outlet near my former office. The store has an ample representation of their online inventory. Be mindful of the fact that this isn't REI or Gander Mountain. They may not have in stock all sizes of footwear or clothing nor all choices of gear and equipment. For example, I saw on display a pair of light hiking boots very much to my liking for 60% off retail. Alas, none in my size. On another occasion, I found a rack of breezy, color print shirts I thought would be great for a backyard BBQ. Sadly, they had only S, M and 2XL from which to choose. Oh well. I did however find a decent pair of khaki hiking shorts for $12, a pair of breathable mesh slip-on walking shoes for $21 and a 3pair set of Nike half socks for $9. Staff was helpful, the layout logical and appealing. All-in-all, a place one could do well to add to any list pf places to check out when in need of outdoor merchandise. read more

A sister store to my favorites Home Goods and TJ Maxx. It is small and contains mostly sporting and active clothing by good brands like Woolrich, Under Armor, and others you would recognize. Good prices on stuff compared to paying full retail at a major department store. They do have a nice sized pet section and shoes also. If you are in the market for activewear/outdoor clothing worth a visit but not enough variety to entice me to go there unless I had a need for that particular item. read more

Large store with all outdoor gear for a steep discount definitely reminded me of rei with all of the brands they offer. One thing that I can't stand is poor customer service. I placed a online order. I never got a confirmation of when my order arrived at the store. My daughter has a trip in less than a week. I decided to call and check on my order. I was told it was there. I also asked if they had snow pants. When I arrived a hour before closing not 10 minutes not 5 minutes but an hour before. I was met with the snow pants a couple of choices this was a plus. I got my order and I asked the guy at the counter to open the box he did and I asked my daughter to try on her boots. When we opened the box her water proof tie up snow boots were a pair of leather bottles with a zipper NOT WHAT I ORDERED here's where the problem comes in. Confused I asked what happen a woman chimes in and say 'oh they have been messing up orders they must have new staff in the warehouse'. I asked if they had any more of the boots in the store to do an exchange and I was told no. I then asked well can I return them and have them exchange for the right boat with an expedited shipping. The lady told me yes that could happen but I would have to PAY for the expedited shipping. I don't understand if I am a customer and I clicked on an item I put it in my online cart, I paid for it I waited for it to come and what arrived is the box with something else inside at the store why I would have to pay to have an item shipped to me faster because I need it by a certain time when I ordered it in the right amount of time to get it early! I asked if they could search another store to see if they had the boots another woman told me no they couldn't do that. All they offered was a refund. I am out boots for my daughters trip and I was pretty much being told to take the refund and go away. Horrible customer service. I ll NEVER shop here again. Go to Columbia, North Face or Dicks sporting goods for your items save yourself the headache. read more

My first time shopping at STP. Purchased 3 tops all on clearance. One top was final sale, should of looked closer. Top had been previously worn with pilling under the pits, a missing pocket and dirty cuffs. Buyer beware as they say. read more
