Today after my facial, I thought I would stop into Athleta to take a look at their new fall line that I had seen in the most recent catalogue. Two stars is being generous. One and a half is for the only male employee in the store that greeted me (and then eventually helped me get a dressing room - see more below). The other half star is for the female employee in the dressing room who asked me how I was doing about ten minutes into my trying-on of several items. After said male employee greeted me, no other sales person asked if I needed help looking for anything, and there were about 6 sales people total. The store was not overly busy - I would say about 10-12 people were shopping (and being helped). Within five minutes, I had found a few pieces I was admiring from the fall look book. Five minutes later, I was still looking. At no point did any person ask, "Would you like to start a fitting room?" even though it was clear I was accumulating items. After fifteen minutes of browsing, I go to the dressing room. There are two employees (female) working the dressing room, so one would assume you would get a room within 2 minutes. Oh, and there wasn't a line. Nope. I stand there, and even peek around the corner to see where were these mysterious employees. I felt like I was in a cartoon where one character tries to look around the tree, but that character darts behind them, and never the two shall meet. After about seven minutes of waiting (I'm still the only one "in line"), the same male employee walked past me and started to go into the restroom. He caught my glance, which truthfully probably radiated a lot of annoyance, and asked if I needed a fitting room. YES. YES, I DID. He finds me one in five seconds. I go in to try my items. Now about the clothes - maybe I'm not the target demographic (after all, this is the sports section of Banana Republic and The Gap), but it seemed like every piece had something a little off about it. Pants were too long (and if you hemmed them, it would lose the shape), crops were too plain (definitely did not feel great enough to pay $80 for them). Jackets looked great on the hangers, not on my petite frame. Ten minutes into my trying on items, I hear one of the elusive female dressing room employees chirp my name - "How's it going in there?" I answer with an "ok" just for her to go away. I end up leaving with nothing. I actually was so annoyed, I forgot I wanted to buy a water belt I had seen, but frankly the customer service sucked. They have a huge stock of merchandise - much more than it seems than the Mall of America location (which by the way, has friendlier employees). I would say that's the only plus. It is in Edina, and I wondered if the fact I wasn't a white middle-aged woman with an expensive purse, sans makeup because of my facial, and dressed in yoga clothes merited me zero recognition as a customer. I've been shopping from Lululemon for years, and even on their worst days, the service is better than this location. The pricing is about the same, but the difference is that the design is much more current, and the fit just goes above and beyond Athleta. I will pay $80 for crops that make me fall in love with the color and fit, but not if they are basic. My suggestion is if you don't look like you're from Edina, go to the MOA location, or shop online. My shipment is coming in a week. read more

I don't like having alot of credit cards, but I opened an Athleta card here under the sole reason that I was told I'd get $20 off the next time I used my card. So i tried to use it at this same location 2 weeks later and the manager was extremely rude and said there was nothing she could do for me since the reward wasn't showing up on my account. She was so unhelpful and unkind about it. The other clerks were nice and helpful though. They were uncomfortable with the way the manager was handling the situation. Never returning to this location. The manager doesn't know customer service and I never got my $20 off. I had $160 worth of things so it's not like I was trying to get anything for free. I don't recommend opening an Athleta account. Update: I called Athleta's customer service asking why my reward wasn't showing up. They told me that I would receive the reward in my next 1-2 billing statements. I told her that i already paid my bill online the next day so I wouldn't be receiving a statement. She told me and I quote "oh..then you wouldn't be eligible for the $20 reward." SO what Athleta is telling me is that if you have good credit and don't let the borrowed money sit in your account and build up interest then you don't get the $20 reward. What kind of scam is this?! OMG! Athleta in real life. I love their catalogue and think this is a great addition to 50th & France. It's pricey--similar to LuluLemon or Lucy--but that doesn't keep the customers away cause this place was bumpin' on Sunday. Lots of very passionate and friendly sales staff. They WILL put you in the perfect pair of yoga pants that give you the butt you've always wanted. No sweat required. And the whole staff runs around telling you how cute you are--except they will also tell you when the new sweater they love doesn't look good with the shape of your shoulders. I thought so too, thanks for steering me to the other shawl that I got 4 compliments on at work today and saving me the hassle of returning the other dud. The clothes are fun and cute; I was inspired to go for a run just looking at them. The lounge clothes are so soft. Even the other customers are nice, happy people. The store is relaxing and earthy. Plus, the bags they pack your purchases in are reusable totes. I dare you to go there and not walk out feeling like a better YOU. No purchase required. read more

My son shopped here for my Xmas gifts and loved the service! Went to another store and they made the unfortunate mistake of assuming he did not have money. So I got lots of wonderful gifts from Athleta!! Thanks for not prejudging your customer. read more

The clothes in here are pricey ( a shade less than lululemon, but only by a touch) but great - and if you don't like them when you use them, you can still return them! I went here on a last minute gift crusade and was confronted with a very limited selection of sizes so hopefully the recipient likes them! The staff was super helpful in picking out a gift and I'm looking forward to using their gear as extra motivation to work out ... hopefully! read more

I looooved this store for years. Often go with my mom n friends. Recent months the store has gone downhill. Dealt with someone named Carla about a month ago who was just...super foul. Mean and snobby and made some comment about my hair that was NOT appropriate. Asked to speak to her boss. She IS the DISTRICT MANAGER. Wow. So mean and nasty! You don't need my money Athleta! I'm the type of person who likes to try on their workout clothes (especially expensive, high quality workout clothes). I've been lusting after the Athleta catalogue since 2011 but having an actual store is pretty nice. I like the sales people in the store. They are helpful and knowledgeable but not super pushy. The selection is good, but sometimes they don't have catalogue selections in stock. The quality of clothes is very good. I've only bought one pair of leggings for barre. The material and fit is to die for. I have no idea how they will hold up a year from now, but they seemed like a great buy at the time. (They were on sale!) They return things without asking tons of dumb questions or interrogating you. One of the only drawbacks is that this place can be super busy on weekends and holidays. You can park for free at the ramp across the street. read more

I stopped in desperate to get a cute outfit for upcoming travel (since I waited until the last minute). Usually when someone asks if I want help I tend to say no but last night I said yes (no time to waste!) and the service I got was *amazing*. They even stayed past closing to ensure I walked away with something that would work. I LOVE Athleta's clothing quality, return policy and the service at the 50th & France location is beyond great.
