This place is a scam. They charged me twice for a service AND ruined my uniform by sewing a patch OVER the previous patch from the opposite side. When I confronted them about the second charge, they said they didn't know how it happened and refused to pay me back. read more

This place does not listen to its customers. We showed 3 different pictures of the type of suit we wanted. It came in looking just like a tux the kids wore 30 years ago, when I went to Prom. Several times, my son told them he wanted a black tie and a black vest. The guy proceeded to tell him that would not look good. The owner told me the prices would be "way cheaper" then Men's Wearhouse. Well.....WRONG. Nearly $270 for a rental - that we didn't like. I asked to get my money back, after returning the unworn tux the next day and I was denied. I ended up purchasing what my son really wanted - for a total of $250. We got to keep the items, it was the color my son wanted, as well as the style. As far as the guy saying "Ive been doing this for 30 years, I know what I'm doing" ~ perhaps he needs to get with the current style trends. He told my son he would look like he was going to a funeral if he wore all black. He said that multiple times. Guess what a good half of the guys wore to prom - black suit with black vests, and a black tie. I do not recommend this place to anyone. They were over priced and refused to give me my money back after I did not receive what we asked for. I had the suit in my possession for less than 10 hours before I returned it to the store. read more

They do great alterations, and very prompt to return calls however they do NOT listen to what you want. Since Rob's been doing this for 30 years, he "knows" what to do. However, his style seems style sense is also seems to be stuck in the early 2000's. Very intimidating for teens to deal with. read more

Disclaimer: This is not a review of the quality of work, just of poor customer service. I'm from out of town and was staying at a hotel by Mall of America for a work trip. The zipper on my only work dress (I'm a flight attendant) completely fell apart. I called this tailor when they opened at 11 and asked if they could help me, explaining that I needed it fixed badly and in a hurry as my flight was leaving at 4:30pm. They said they could fix zippers and rush order it but couldn't tell me how long it would take because they needed to see the dress. After paying $12 for a taxi to get there, the same woman I spoke to on the phone tells me several things once seeing the dress: 1. They don't have the color zipper I need, but they can do it in black. (I'm fine with this) 2. This is an invisible zipper and they don't have any invisible zippers. She says she should have asked me to send her a picture. (I agree...but it's a little too late for that, I just spent $12 to get here.) 3. Do I have any coworkers that will let me use their uniforms? (NO! That's why I'm willing to pay $50 to fix it.) I leave the store frustrated. I try to find another tailor but there are none near. I see Hobby Lobby close by and walk 10 minutes to get there and look for an invisible zipper. I buy one for $3. I walk back to the tailor to see if they can fix it now. She tells me this: 1. The manager is the only one who can fix the zipper and he's not here. (Why tell me you can fix it in a rush when the only person capable of fixing it is not available?!?!?) 2. I had to get my suit taken in after a significant weight loss. I chose 3 in 1 because I wanted an independent local tailor. Well, I found exactly that. 3 in 1 is definitely my tailor from now on. I brought it in Monday afternoon before Thanksgiving and I needed it done on Friday for a cruise on Saturday. It was ready when I called Friday morning - one thing checked off the to-do list! I came to these guys first before getting my measurements done at Savvi. First, I stopped in around lunchtime during my lunch hour to try to get measured. The woman there said the manager, who is the only one that can do measurements, wouldn't be in the shop until after 2pm. That was odd, but I thought, "ok," and decided to come back. I came back after 2pm and the manager was doing a measurement of someone else. When he was done, the kid being measured gave him some money and left. Again, I thought that was odd. The woman that I saw at lunch time was there and told the manager I was there for a measurement. He was about to start when I asked if it would cost me anything. "$3," he replied. I smiled at him and said, "thanks, but no thanks." Now I give the shop the benefit of the doubt because this is obviously a very small mom and pop shop. The manager was probably the husband of the woman that was there initially. However, I didn't like that the "manager" was the only person that could to measurements and wasn't available. And I also didn't like that he was going to do a measurement without telling me it would cost money. As a tailor and formalwear shop, they might still be very good. Went in for a Xcountry ski boot repair. The guy told me to buy new boots and that the repair was to labor intensive. Said would up to $40.00 to repair if they tried. Repair is a about inch and a half tear near the zipper. Seam tore out. He sorta tossed it back at me and said "buy a new pair" really??? My take on this place is they didn't want to deal with it was easier to blow me off. Went to Mike's in Eagan. Going sew it up for $10.00. No guarantee but that is understandable with tear. Took a bag here last minute for a zipper repair on a Thursday. I needed the bag for a Friday flight and was hoping to get it done same or next day. He warned that it depended on the type of zipper and what they had on hand. If they didn't have it, it would have to be ordered. I understood as I shouldn't have procrastinated so much. He called me a few hours later to let me know they had the exact zipper in the exact color (which I didn't care about) and the bag was ready to be picked up at any time. It was so great to have it ready quickly and to get a phone call with an update. Really nice service and appreciate that he was upfront about the $5 rush charge. Thank you! read more

I brought a long layered bridesmaid dress in on a Saturday afternoon and needed it back that Thursday and the manager was able to rush my dress and get it done by Wednesday. He took my measurements as soon as I walked in and was able to help me immediately. I was in a serious bind and he was able to really help me out. Most tailors would have told me it was impossible but 3 In 1 said no problem, they would rush my order. I went in to have a bridesmaid dress altered recently and the manager Robert flicked, felt, touched, I'm not even sure how to describe this as inappropriately as it happened, my nipple THREE times. First, I walked in and was disappointed to see a man at the front because the dress I needed altered was WAY too big and it would be hard to have the dress on and hide my body, but I thought that since I was in there I may as well just stay and get it altered. At first, everything was fine...Robert told me the dress was sized way larger than a 0 and that I should take it back to David's Bridal before he does anything because it needed to be sized down at least 2 sizes. Seriously, it was fine until he brought up the padding in the top at which point he repeated flicked the left nipple followed by the right nipple. By the time he got to the right nipple I caught him and hit his hand away, but he kept talking as if it was no big deal, so I kind of ignored it and moved on. Then, as I was leaving he brought up the pads for the top again and flicked my nipple again! I hit his hand away again and immediately went to the dressing room, changed and left. Here's the thing...I am an grown adult woman who is confident and comfortable with my sexuality and even I felt uncomfortable. I just don't want parents sending their teenage daughters to this place alone, trusting this man, when in reality he is a super creep. Be careful. read more

I have been to many different alteration shops all over the Twin Cities. 3 In 1 is by far the best one. Their alterations are flawless. I've had a coat, skirts, jeans, pants and tops altered there and have been very pleased with the work. It is now my go to place when I need alterations. I brought in a skirt for my daughter and Rob, the owner, was honest enough to tell me that the cost of altering would cost more than the garment. Instead of doing the costly option, he figured out a way to do the alteration in a way that didn't cost double what the skirt was worth. It turned out beautifully. She got so much use from that one skirt that would've sat in her closet or been donated. I loved his honesty! He and his wife Rose are so inviting and friendly. After one visit, they remembered who I was. Rob and Rose understand the value of good customer service and treating people with respect and dignity. I highly recommend this shop! read more
