Writing to inform you of how inflexible and unwilling Mestads is when working with an 18 year old…read morehigh school student. Apparently the policy of the store when speaking to the store owner is that the Tux must be returned to the store the following day of prom (Sunday) or returned to the high school on Monday. Our son returned the Tux on Monday in person at the store. He was charged $40 for this. When speaking with the store owner (Kathy) she said "I'm sorry that your son is not able to read" and was quite rude and not willing to work with us at all. How rude is it to insult someones child when receiving a customer complaint? Especially when the parents are asking them to be understanding since the Tux was still returned the same day the high school students returned their clothes to the school. It is crazy how important $40 is to a store and their willingness to loose a client instead of providing good customer service and be more understanding of high school age students not fully understanding what all the policies are. If I were you, I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. This is not a matter of $40 as much as it about poor customer service and the principles of the owner.

My husband was fitted for a tux for our sons wedding. We arrive on date they give you. 3 days…read morebefore wedding. He tried his shirt on and when he raised his arms went to his elbows! It's 45 minutes away and they said come on fri to pick up new shirt. We both worked and had decorating etc for wedding. We came up with our own remedy my nephew would pick it up. The where is part is it on the day of the wedding my husband put on his tux with his new shirt. Looks good. Took the dogs out and I was bending over to get something for the dogs I looked at my husband pants and it was very visible a hole in his crotch! It isn't like it could be seen. When he tried it on of course she didn't look at his crotch he just assume that you paid 200 and some dollars for Tux for a few days that they are in good shape. He has sew his own pants. when we brought it back no oh that's terrible we're sorry. They said we should've brought it to be fixed. Really two hours before the wedding drive 45 minutes each way very unprofessional will never go there again. If you do check your crotch of your tux

I was excited for this location to open but I think it still has a few kinks to work out. I sure…read moredidn't get a good impression from the very start. First off if you're looking to rent a tux here you need to make an appointment. Don't expect to just show up. I did make an appointment for my son but a few days later received an email saying it was cancelled. When I called to inquire no one could really give me a reason why that happened so I booked another appointment online. At the scheduled appointment the women certainly took her time. It took over an hour to get the correct fitting and try things on. It seems the process could have gone quicker but overall my son ended up with a suit and fit that looked great on him. They told us the suit would arrive 2 weeks before the wedding and it arrived ahead of schedule. You have 48 hours to make any changes so try the suit on as soon as you get it. The pants were too long but Black Tux reimburses you for alterations. Just save your receipt and the box it shipped in so you can send it back after the event.

Utterly useless!…read more Groomsmen suits came in SUPER baggy, Bow ties were comically large, one of my groomsmen paid for shoes and didn't get shoes... My (Groom) tuxedo came in super baggy! The only component that was useable was the pants! Shirt was insanely baggy, jacket? Also insanely baggy... in talking ridiculous in size. You would've thought I was 6'5 just by seeing the jacket. I brought it to my local store and they tell me that alternations and shipping would take too long to do anything so "in sorry but there's nothing we can do" I asked if I could just purchase the jacket and go get alterations as my wedding day is ticking down.... These useless people look at me and tell me "no, we wouldn't sell you that jacket" Are you kidding me??? So I opted to have it altered on my own dollar and I will be keeping the jacket. My father in laws jacket came in undersized and they sent him a mega XXL jacket instead.... Can these folks do anything right? I also asked for some cuff links or button studs and they also tell me "we don't carry any of that here, we would need to ship it to you".... They don't carry ANY inventory other than model try on pieces at the store... they cannot sell you anything... they can barely rent anything. The store is legit a wholesaler that ships it to you that's it. Opt in for men's wearhouse or go get a suit or tux personally tailored. It is NOT worth the headaches. 0/10 would not recommend DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS

Cute! I have visited Style Society when Sophie Joe's went out of business and was replaced by this…read moreshop. Since my last visit, I was pleased to see that they have opened up the back room of the building. Style Society is a mix of Patina, thrift, home goods and plants all mashed into one spot. This is a great shop for gifts or if you are seeking to swap out furniture or purchase vintage kitchen wear. From refurbished coffee tables to sofas and dressers, there is something for everyone here. There is a plant section, clothes, candles, vintage mugs, trivets, saucepans, etc. If you name it, you can probably find it here. During December, the shop is seasonally decorated with ornaments and various other trinkets. The shop has nice sections to the store broken out by item with good organization - not too overwhelming considering the vast selection. There's usually really nice incense burning when you enter the space or candles. The interior is really clean and the staff is friendly. Most items are priced within reason yet there are a few that can be spendy. Find some items within your budget and you'll love it here. While you're in the area, check out Claddagh Coffee and St. Vincent de Paul thrift next door. Saint Paul is so lucky to have you, Style Society!

I may be an outlier here but didn't have a good experience going to this place. What I recommend to…read moreanyone going there is to make sure they write their estimate for a job down, hand it to you, and you keep it until you come back for pick-up. I've been there twice and each time the total is much higher than the estimate they gave me. After this last time I've decided I won't be going here again. Over a month ago I went in to ask how much it would cost to have a broken zipper replaced on my winter coat. I was told it was $60, which was too much for my budget, so I said I would think about it. A few days later a family member volunteered to pay for this clothing repair as a Christmas gift, so I thanked them and dropped the coat off. I was told I would be contacted when the job was completed. Three and half weeks later I hadn't heard from them, and had been dealing with single digit temperatures in a thinner coat I was using at the time. I paid them a call and asked if there was any updates on my coat. "Well, did you get a text that we had finished it?" she asked. I said no. "Then no, we're not done." I was little taken aback because she seemed irritated I had called, but figured she might be having a bad day. I listened as she looked around and eventually found my coat, then told me it would probably be done in a week or so. That brought my waiting time to nearly a month. That next week I received a text and went in to pick up my coat. The total the employee gave me was $80, $20 more than the estimate I had been given. "Wait, why is it so high?" I asked. She scoffed said, "Uh, because it's actually really hard work." In that moment I thought, "Oh, you're who I talked to on the phone" and realized that she probably wasn't having a bad day, that's just how she talks to people. I laughed it off and explained that it wasn't a complaint about the cost, but the fact that it was $20 more than we discussed. "Oh, that's tax," she said, which didn't make sense, then called her mother over to speak with me, the owner of the place. I explained the problem to her and she said that they charged by the inch and remeasured the zipper. Now she was saying it was $68 for the repair, plus an additional fee then the tax on the purchase. In that moment, I had two choices: which was to remind her once again of the estimate, ask her why it had changed, and why she hadn't mentioned additional fees when I had come in twice and talked about how I was on a budget. Or I could just say, "You know what? Just keep the coat," and walk away. Then I thought, "What is the difference? They obviously don't remember me and they don't care. They also made me wait nearly a month and have treated me like an idiot." After all, most of cost would be covered by someone who had volunteered to help me out and keep me warm for the winter. I quickly decided to get as far away as these people as soon as I could. I just said, "Uh-huh, uh-huh" while they repeated how much it cost, paid them and left. When I finally put on the repaired coat and tried out the zipper it jammed and I couldn't get it off for several minutes. So even the quality of the job wasn't that great. I had to laugh. If you decide to use this place for repairs or alterations, be careful. And make sure that whatever is discussed is put in writing.
