I get stuff in before Tuesday and pick it up Friday and the alternations are always top notch. $10 for a pant hem is a great value, especially in the cities. I was in this am, had several loads of another person's laundry. 18/29 washers were out of order 18/30 dryers were out of order every laundry product dispenser was out of order. Floor not clean. I was not impressed with the cleanliness of the clothes I washed, they still smelled. An attendant was helpful. Shane was very helpful and friendly. He told me it would be ready before he left at two pm and it was. Shane did a great job of hanging my shifts and separating and individually packing my other items. He then called me to confirm I could pick it up. I can usually fit 2 large laundry baskets into the giant load washer for just $6 to wash and $3.50 to dry. What I like the most and have never experienced before is a drop off laundry service! Yup! You can drop your drawers and they'll wash, dry and fold em for you! They charge $1 and some change per pound. If you don't have a second to waste on sitting in the laundromat, drop your clothes off and pick them up the next day. The staff are very nice, friendly and talkative. Special occasion to wash big bulky items and decided to come here for nostalgia reasons from when I used to visit here frequently approximately 20 years ago. This was my place. Things have changed. For the record it looks like their "wash and fold" is still doing quite well. Unfortunately I would rather pick a laundromat that 70-80% of machines are not broken with post it stickers. It was not busy so I got the only largest washer and dryer that were available and actually working. Dryer door wouldn't stay closed so I stood while drying or my items wouldn't shoot out. We love this laundromat! The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The machines are all newer models and do a great job cleaning clothes. The dryers are super hot and you don't have to keep feeding them money to dry your clothes. The facility is very clean, and I see the staff cleaning the machines, the floors and the bathroom regularly. The only drawback I can think of is that the parking lot is pretty small, and during busy times it can be a challenge to find a space, but we just try to go early in the am to avoid that. They offer free WiFi, and have plenty of seating as well as a pool table. I really enjoy going to Rainbow Laundry and highly recommend it! FYI: The Indian restaurant next door is really good! I read great reviews here and was excited to try Rainbow Laundry dry cleaner. I used their dry cleaning service and paid $90 for about 14 pieces. I was very disappointed to see one of the very delicate pieces with a rhinestone belt had damage and because of the way it was handled, the belt ripped some of the fabric. Another was a white top that I got back with a slight stain on it that wasn't initially there. The pieces also didn't smell like they'd been cleaned. They did do a good job with pressing shirts. Yeah... I won't be back. Came to do a small load, only to find the cheapest option is a double load front-loader for $3.00... maybe (more on that later). I've never been to a laundromat that didn't have top-loaders for a lower price. If I had known this I would have brought like three times as much as I did. However, knowing this doesn't mean I'll be back with a larger bagful of laundry. Why? Warm and hot water cost extra (25 for warm, 50 for hot). What? Never seen this before either. Extra $ for heavy soil or extra rinse is fine, but come on. Other things: - As noted by another reviewer, there's one freakin' outlet way back in the corner, too far from any seating. - The employees need to use their inside voices. The person you're talking to is standing right there, dude. - Picking nits, but as long as I'm dumping on this place... they apparently aren't aware that wifi passwords are case sensitive. It's all caps on the sign, but in fact the password's all lowercase, so I wasted a few minutes figuring that out. I'm giving two stars instead of one because it is nice and clean and stuff seems to be well maintained. I gotta figure most of the rave reviews here were written by people who don't have to worry much about money. Must be nice... edit: Oh, p.s... The pool table people have mentioned is gone. I went to get my wedding dress cleaned there. They charged me $300 and it took over a month to clean. Once they finally returned it to me it was in an open plastic covering and it was dirty at the bottom. I brought it back and they said they would try and fix it but now I'm probably waiting another month to get my dress back. The man was very friendly though and it is a convenient location. read more

My partner found out about Rainbow Laundry through reviews online-and we decided to give it a try for our dry cleaning. We brought in some blazers and a silk too that had a few stains, and fortunately all of our items were cleaned well and to expectation. With a turn around of about 2 days, we were happy to have our items dry cleaned fairly quickly. If you're driving here, be aware of the small parking lot that's nearby. Short Version: This is THE BEST LAUNDRY PLACE EVER! Slightly longer version: Super friendly and informative staff and owner. Willing and able to help out, and they have whatever you might have forgotten. They offer several different services I wouldn't even think of but will definitely use going forward. (Wash and Fold can help me regain my apartment back!) There's a place to entertain yourself, either by reading, arcades, pool, tv. There's free WiFi, comfortable couches to sit and read, well ventilated, very clean, and it's open 7 days a week until 9:30. I was blown away... from a laundry place... I know, sounds ridiculous. After a depressive period, issues with my apartment washing machines, and a family emergency, I had accumulated quite a bit of dirty laundry. Like, an absurd quantity. At close to 100 pounds, it was a large order. However, the employees were nothing but nice and understanding, encouraging me to just bring it all in when it was convenient for me. The cost was very reasonable (especially considering the time it would have taken me to wash everything) and it was all washed perfectly. I separated out what was hang-dry, which I would recommend to save them time. I chose this place because of their reputation on Yelp and you guys did NOT let me down! This place is phenomenal! Their facilities were spotless. Let's face it, public laundry places are usually sketchy at best! Rainbow Laundry is anything but! The pictures here on Yelp don't do it justice. The ladies working inside were absolutely lovely and welcoming! I immediately noticed the care they were taking of the laundry they were doing. No half-hearted, just-get-it-done attitudes at all. The price was more than fair: $50.12. I shopped around to get an idea of pricing because I haven't had anything dry cleaned in years. These guys had the best prices, although prices didn't vary by much. I dropped my items off on a Thursday around 1pm. I was told they would be done by Friday, sometime after 2pm. Great! They even offered free delivery! I'd shake a stick but there's nothing to shake it at! By the way, my items were delivered on Friday MORNING at 9:15am, only 20 hours after I dropped them off! Speaking of the delivery, it was 46°F with rain and thunderstorms when the greatest, kindest delivery driver showed up! He didn't mention the weather but only smiled, saying that he appreciated my business and hoped I'd use them again. YOU BET I WILL! FACILITIES: 5 out of 5 Stars SERVICE: 5 out of 5 Stars PEOPLE: 100 out of 5 Stars I paid for dry cleaning and got what I paid for there. Everything came back fresh and clean. Avoid this place AT ALL COSTS. I was in town with a band playing for one night and needed some same day wash and fold. I went to pick up my laundry, and the next day realized that two shirts were missing. I was already in the next city of our tour. I called the laundromat and asked that they be overnighted to my next tour stop in the next city. I emphasized the importance of getting it out the next day, because I would only be in the next town for one night and needed the shirts for the next few shows. The shirts never came. I called and called and CALLED, asking for a tracking number. I was told that the owner, Frank, would call me back, but he never did. The business stopped answering the phone all together. When I finally got thru to someone asking when my package was to arrive, Frank nonchalantly told me that he hadn't managed to get it out yet. This was 5:45 PM, and he said he probably didn't even have time to get them out in time. I told him I would call the FedEx (half a mile away from Rainbow) MYSELF to see what time their last was, and learned it was 7:30. Plenty of time for him to get over and drop off the package in time for him to overnight it to the next city. I got a call from Frank at 9:15pm later that night and said that he hadn't managed to get to FedEx, even after I had done the research for him about how he could get it to me in time for the NEXT show. He simply couldn't be bothered to correct his company's mistake. Highly unprofessional, a huge inconvenience, and extremely disappointing. This issue is still unresolved. I'm furious. Stay. I usually use my building's machines whenever I have a load or two to do. However, sometimes life gets real busy, and I discover five loads that magically appear out of nowhere. I visit Rainbow several times a year, and on my most recent trip, I noticed that several rows of machines have been replaced with modern ones. Thankfully, the price for a regular wash still remains the same at $2.50. ***Applause*** Washes also only last 30 minutes. The larger machines -that can clean about two and a half loads or so- are in the $3 range and take slightly longer to finish. The dryers are huge, and the amount of time it takes to dry depends on the number of quarters you put in. I think it's five or seven minutes per quarter. $1.75 should be enough for one load. I've used their dry cleaning services several times. I believe it's per pound. For a full pant and coat, it costs me somewhere between $12 to $17. Other perks include solid and free WiFi, a pool table, arcade games, couches, and two metal picnic tables to do work. *Note: the game where you go through warehouses clearing out zombies with your pistol is BAD-ASS! It's 50 cents per start. The owner is nice and usually answers any question with a smile. I'll probably find myself back in three months with five loads. read more

Realizing that some items dry quicker and some longer I can appreciate paying for 5 minutes at a time. I saved money by only pay for 20 minutes vs a full 35. Did you know that a laundromat can have a 100% five star reputation on Yelp? This one does, and it's well-deserved. I'm not an expert on laundromats, but this one is good. I know this because I was just there today. It's very clean and there's free WiFi. There are couches and tables for laptopping, reading or chatting. AND I made it to Chipotle (my fast food vice), ate my food and was back in perfect time to put my clothes into the dryer. I used the triple load machines (30 minutes; $3.75) and had two loads going. The dryers took another 30 minutes. At home in my apartment basement, my mountain of laundry would've taken at least four loads and a LOT more of my time. Rainbow also offers dry cleaning services and full laundry service by the pound ($1.10/lb), which tempts me immensely. read more

This is a family run establishment. They are super awesome people who will say hi as you come in and wish you a good day as you leave. I always play Ms. Pacman or pool and eat Spree out of the 25c candy machine while I wait for my clothes to be clean and dry. :) If I'm tight on the quarters, I'll chill on one of their couches and play my DS. Sometimes, I even run to Chipotle next door and grab a burrito to pass the time. Stay away from the vending machine for food, though--on more than one occasion, I've gotten chips/candy items that are far past their expiration date. The lady at the counter was polite and said the normal turn around was 24-hours but that they would be able to complete my clothes after 4:00 p.m. today. I've been to Rainbow three times and have always had amazing service. Example: once I took a down comforter there, thinking it needed to get dry cleaned, and Frank the manager told me I could actually machine wash a down comforter. This saved me (and lost him) about $10. Another time, a woman working used a house stain removal solution on another comforter of mine, looking over the whole thing and treating each stain individually. Every time I've gone they've been able to put my things from the washer to the dryer, so I wouldn't have to come back for this step. They're also really knowledgeable about laundry. I keep thinking I would like to stay during a wash cycle of mine and pump them for laundry dos & don'ts, but never have the time. Anyway, the info in passing they've told me is still much appreciated. Also, their hours are insane -- 10 pm on Sunday for a laundromat, whaaatttt???!!! I came here to do some laundry recently and the lady working was really nice and helpful. Usually when I go to laundromats, I only see other customers. She was talking to a lot of the customers there and was friendly to me too, so yeah, it was a great experience! On a side note, it's kind of hard to make a left turn into their parking lot when traffic is busy on Hennepin, so I'd recommend navigating there in such a way where you'd be heading south on Hennepin, thus making a right-handed turn into the parking lot. read more
