Um...WHOA?! I've heard about this store from friends before, but thought it was just a fancy menswear store. Well boy, was I wrong. I stopped in a few days before Christmas, and I actually had a few things yet I wanted to get my grandpa, so this worked out great. At the entrance - and throughout the store - I found free hot coffee, tea, refreshments, cookies, and treats. Maybe it's just a holiday thing but I loved the hospitality. The space is HUGE - so much more than clothes! I had no idea. They have: - books and coffee table books - a whole room dedicated to perfume/cologne and scents - a whole area for cocktail-related gifts - home decor, tableware, and interior decor items - kitschy smaller giftables that were organized by theme (work/office, hosting, etc.) - menswear and womenswear - jewelry - candles - and so much more! I genuinely believe you can walk in here and be sure to find something for anyone on your gifting list. I am part of a large, semi-formal wedding in Atlanta. The function is laden with "pomp and circumstance" that might give me hives. However, a close friend is diving in for his third, and I applaud his happiness. I won't wear a tuxedo, but I needed to have a suit made that would make the bride and the 400 attendees comfortable. The bride already told me not to don a fedora or pink sneakers, although I wanted to. Todd Fliginger at Martin Patrick took me under his wing. Todd is amazingly kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. He sent swatches to Milwaukee before we moved to Minneapolis. Tailors were brought in, especially the master tailor Robert, not only to measure, but also to have me try on different designers' pieces to see what would fit well. I am a difficult fit, with a body more like a penguin than a human. That's what a custom tailor in NYC told me. However, I don't nosh on Krill. Todd and Robert took hours to get a correct fit and guaranteed that I would look good. Todd even saved me several hundred dollars off the original quote. ADDENDUM: My suit arrived, and it looked amazing. A few alterations are required to ensure a perfect fit, but that's it. I had a suit made on Savile Row in London that cost more than three times this suit's price, and it did not fit as well. This store should be on every list of Minneapolis's sightseeing highlights. It is akin to a design museum. Everything at Martin Patrick--furniture and furnishings--is for sale, and they're all amazing! Martin Patrick 3 is down-to-earth sophistication, with a NYC or Parisian vibe. Yet, the staff is Midwest empathetic. It is a Minneapolis treasure, as is Todd. I might not be looking forward to this wedding, but at least I know I will look my best. read more

This is one of the only stores I have been to that you feel transported to somewhere else- and it's fabulous. I can't afford 90% of the items in the store but that doesn't stop me from seeing what they have, sampling the vast selection of body care/designer fragrance/home care items. I have purchased unique gifts here as well. Witnessed an alleged "senior designer" from Martin Patrick 3 on a job site for a month. Authoritative over zealous human being who lacked boundaries and professional acumen. The designer verbally committed NUMEROUS times to owning "everything visual" on the job site regardless of what company had the work order. House Managers in place we're being told by this domineering designer that: -Soaps, including shampoo -Junk drawer placement & items inside -Clothing & toiletry put aways -Floral arrangements -Spice drawers that include salt & pepper ALL fell under their action items as they were "visual" and it was the "creative" design hire in charge! During the final preparations to get the home ready the house management company purchased groceries and the completed kitchen DID NOT have a pantry to put anything away !! 4O million dollar house and NO PANTRY! Martin Patrick designer way over stepped her boundaries. It is a fact that the designer verbally attacked the cleaning company and ran them off site in tears. The same day this designer had a verbal sparring match with the General Contractor onsite. The day the owners were to take possession of their new home the designer left heaps of trash piles & packaging and cardboard. Outdoor patio furniture covers heaped up in a pile and left for the House Manager to cleanup. This designer left vases, flower stems and floral shrapnel in a pile in the garage. Unwrapped furniture & returns stacked up. Most every item MP3 designer verbally committed to owning int the weeks prior were left incompleted. MP3 designer put the blame on the House Management firm for incomplete projects they initially took ownership of. At one point the designer fabricated a complete lie and told the owner of the home in a phone conversation that the "House Manager" was taking video of the interiors. When the House Manager confronted MP3 designer and reported the incident MP3 designer recanted the accusation. "It was all a big miscommunication" the designer alleged. Possibly she should of been designing a pantry? She spent days searching TJ Mazz and Marshall's for accent decor pieces ?? I thought MP3 had these items? Why hire a designer who procures items from TJ Max? Wonder what kind of mark up was added to those items. This unprofessional dictator was rude to the staff and vendors and is disrespectful and aggressive with the help. Think before you EVER get involved with MP3 from Minneapolis Minnesota. Martin Patrick 3 is truly a unique store, it is wonderfully curated and appointed and the layout affords plenty of exploration. It is a shame then that the service for such a wonderful store is subpar. Traveling from Chicago, I look forward to shopping at Martin because of the experience of discovery -- which absolutely demands attentive and caring staff. Upon arrival I was greeted vaguely by someone at the front desk who couldn't bother to look up from his paperwork to properly address my party. I wandered around for 20 minutes, passing several staff members, before I was asked if I needed any help. For a store of this stature I consider this a failure. Two staff members were folding clothes and clearly saw me walk by and they didn't even greet me. This same staff however greeted a different customer who walked by shortly after me. I have received more welcoming service at a gas station. When my husband and I finally did get greeted and given a room to try on clothes, it wasn't until after we decided on a few purchases were we asked if we needed water. The demeanor of the sales associate completely changed. I wonder if this is now customary of the sales staff to be so selective of who gets help and when, and only if someone has decided on a purchase. Which is truly unfortunate because my first experience of Martin was wonderful and all of the staff were welcoming and attentive. I question why my experience today was so appalling. As a person of color I couldn't help but feel as though this could have been a factor in why I was so blatantly ignored. This store offers so much and is a joy to walk through, but I feel guilty spending thousands of dollars where I am not welcome. Do better or you will lose this customer. read more

I was told about this store while shopping around the surrounding area and it was a great one to go visit! I love the atmosphere with all of the interior pieces mixed throughout the clothing. Fun to go and just look around even. A lot of high end men's wear as well as lavish home decor. Was helped by Dustin and was even offered beverages while shopping. I ended up getting a couple cigars as gifts which were nicely boxed at purchase as well as a candle. They also have a sale section for men's clothing on the far side which is more my speed. This place is an experience. Martin Patrick can be a bit intimidating due to its grandeur, but it's worth it. This review is only for the denim section of this huge boutique-department store-style mens mostly shop with a barber shop and more... My fashionisto friend gave my boyfriend a list of current "it" denim and where to find them. Turns out you can get most of them here at Martin Patrick. It is a good thing that the staff here are very attentive because it is necessary as this place is not easy to navigate and the store in its totality is a monstrosity. Even with the denim section being decidedly smallish, comparatively, a guide is still required unless you are freakishly up on your denim varieties. Before getting started we were offered a beverage: coffee? Sam was our guide for today's denim safari. He asked what sort of fit and constitution my boyfriend was looking for and quickly got to work, pulling out several pair for trying. The fitting room was rather sartorial with a 3-way mirror and a fitting platform where you can be measured for tailoring (which is offered free of charge). Sam stayed within an ears reach to check on fit, offer suggestions and/or opinions and change out sizes. He also educated us on the difference brands and cuts and how they would wear over time. This will be our new go to place for our hard to buy for "NYC boys" gifts. The store is laid out so nice and art directed with class and style. Both of the gentleman working there were very helpful, friendly and made us aware of the sale going on. Informative in a non overly intrusive way. Spent Saturday on a shopping tour for Husband. It was a beautiful day, so I didn't mind popping into small stores around the city--especially since his attention span in stores is short and he manages to pepper coffee and snack breaks throughout his "errands". This is wholly unlike my mother who is of the ilk that no consumption should take place until after "the job is done". Martin Patrick 3 was on "our list". We'd never been, and Husband has dreams of having a separate living quarters that resemble an old world gentleman's club and barber shop, so this place was perfect. We saw many accessories he'd love to own from bags to valets to hats. The store was warm in a "hunt club" kind of way and I especially liked the bar/checkout area. Will start by saying, what a great concept in men's life style shopping. Everything you can need or want under one roof. That being said, when it comes to customer service it's non existent. We were visiting for the holidays. So we made plans to go shop. Not the first or even second time shopping at MP3. After walking in and selections a few things, it must have taken a few minutes to find someone to assist us finding sizes or a fitting room. Once we did, never seen so much attitude from an individual who I'm sure works in commission. So I decided he didn't need my money. As for the hubby he found a few items he could live without. As he found someone to ring him up, yet again disappointment. The item that was clearly on a table with 40% off sign was not on sale(that color). Sad to say he still purchased the item, why?! Wow I had never been to this store before but heard a lot about it. I came out to a event that they were having for the Scout Guide launch party. Wow! It seriously was one of the best events I've ever gone to in Minneapolis. Everyone was so friendly and the store was set up's so nicely. They had so many fun and unique things at the party. The diverse and trendy clothing they have is unparalleled to any men's boutique in Minneapolis, and the little luxurious gifts and home decor is expansive and breathtaking. This is the penultimate place that makes you wish you didn't have student loans. I've lived in New York City & spent significant amounts of time in Nashville, Chicago, Los Angeles & DC, yet have *never* found a store as well curated as MP3. Located in a gorgeous building on the North Loop, this truly is a one stop shop. Everything inside is gorgeous, unique, and admittedly, upscale (with prices to prove it). However, they have a big room for clearance and I for an incredible pair of designer boots that were already on sale for an extra 40% off! I then, of course, had to buy a candle, some masculine scented hand cream, stationary & cuff links as a gift. Come prepared to spend a few hours browsing everything they have to offer... and maybe go to an ATM & only take cash in the store so you stick to a budget. It's an easy place to get lost in, suddenly your "window shopping" has turned into an all day, $1000 affair. The customer service is top notch. The free beer is an added touch. This store is unbelievable! I could browse here for hours. I don't care if that shaving kit is $200 & meant for a man's beard, I will use it to shave my legs because it's THAT cool! I heard a lot about Martin Patrick 3 regarding it's recent re-location so eventually I decided I couldn't take it anymore and decided to try it out for myself. From the moment I walked in I was taken back by not only the friendly staff but the amazing masculine but stylish decor. Note I had never been in Martin Patrick 3 before (even at it's previous location) so this was an entirely new experience for me. They have a small assortment of actual men's clothing but the high-end accessories more than compensate. Everything from bow ties (my personal favorite) to cufflinks to wallets to coffee table books and beyond makes up this space. One of my personal pet peeves of shopping is being torturously greeted by the annoyed sales associate or being completely ignored all together but not here. The staff was friendly and helpful and answered all my questions with ease. This place absolutely gets my stamp of approval as I know I will be stopping back again and again.
