Service at 'Future Nails' is impeccable Being a disabled person with ambulatory issues, Michael (the owner/manager) does a fantastic job to make sure all of my needs are met. He and Rebecca ('Red', a technician) even help me lift my mobility scooter into the salon from the street In a perfect world, the entrance would be equipped with a ramp and automatic door to be compliant with ADA standards. The nail equipment is very clean and disinfected after every customer. The technicians are fluent in English, Spanish and/or Vietnamese/Cantonese (can't identify), and I think I even heard Tagalog. This salon's service is more than adequate. There is an eyebrow waxing station, unfortunately I can't comment on that. I heard one horror story that involved transmission of an STD through a wax pot. THIS SALON ISN'T THE SALON IN QUESTION. However I don't think that'd be possible here because they do not do bikini area waxes. Cuticle care is the best I've experienced at this location. Not quite sure about their design work, since I only have gotten the basicgel mani/pedi. The nail technicians have face masks, but not all wear them. This salon also has their license posted. I have never scheduled a reservation prior to going, but I'm taken care of within 10-20 minutes (if I DO have to wait). One thing I would suggest for the salon is to improve their ventilation system and have air-purifying plants. The fumes are very powerful and the salon would do well by their clients and technicians as not to risk their respiratory health. I went in to get a cat eye manicure and pedicure. I was given a book and I choose color 23. They never used cat eye. And when I caught them they tried to tell me different but I have been getting this cat eye mani/pedi for a while for me to know if its cat eye or not. When I initially asked for the price, they wouldn't tell me and upon asking 4th time a lady said $120. I told her while she's doing the job that its not the color, and not the formula I asked for but she lied stating that it is cat eye. I told her I will not pay $120 so she said to give her a $100. I didn't wanna argue with her so I left the money and I'm filling a complaint that they are over charging customers, not providing the right service and lying to their customer about the type of product they are using. I don't get my nails done here anymore but I still come for pedis bc I haven't found another place as clean yet. I like that they use the plastic wrap in pedi bowl and it's weird that that's not the norm around here. (I'm new to the state.) My gf and I came here together and both got a spa pedicure. They have no clue what they are doing bc it's a different process every time. Edit to add that she keeps cutting me with her nails as she massages my legs. read more

The quality is JUST okay, the nail techs are not super social (which is fine) but they will try and get away with giving the bare minimum. My nail tech never even measured to see if the nails were the even in length. Unless you speak up they will not give you standard quality service. Below is what I asked for versus what I got. Do not go to Mike GO TO VIVIAN. I came in today around 2:30pm and was seated with a Hispanic woman to receive a Mani and Pedi. Very nice. She did a decent job on my nails. I asked her to check my toe polish before I leave. She insisted that it was dry. I walked home and took off my shoes. They were ruined. No biggie. I just walked back. The woman that provided my service initially refused to fix it because she is "Im off Duty" and asked MIKE to do it. MIKE WOULD NOT TAKE THE OLD POLISH OFF. BUT INSTEAD PUT NEW POLISH ON TOP. YOU COULD SEE THE INDENTS FROM MY SHOE STILL. I told him that wasn't acceptable and he proceeded to tell me to come back tomorrow. I don't live here. I can't come back. He told me he was busy and then walked out the back door. LUCKILY VIVIAN SAVED THE DAY. BUT THIS PLACE NEEDS A LOT OF WORK. If I could give negative stars I would. UPDATE. Paid for my niece to have her mani and pedi done as a gift. She went to this place to accompany her friend. Worst idea ever!!!!!! this was the worst job I've ever seen. $73 on a gel manicure and pedicure and literally looks horrible. I could've done this at home with regular polish. the gel coats are not even good. you can see right through the color, and then they didn't even take care of her cuticles. SMH, I'm madder at my niece for going there when I told her to go to my place in Rahway. I hope people will steer away from this place. I would recommend not attending this nail salon. The salon does not use sterilized tools after each usage. As a result I developed a yeast infection (fungus), had to go to a dermatologist to find out why my nail was in so much pain. Zero starts. Got a full set on Sunday. Nails broke by Tuesday. Went back to get it fixed and they didn't even have my color. Then argued with me about why I should have to pay for it. They argued with me infront all of their customers over $5 on mother's day. I have never been to such a low class nail salon. A beautiful location with very embarrassing and tacky people working there including the owner! Don't waste your money. The ambience isn't worth the stress! Don't waste your time or money on this place. Lisa did my gel fill in for $75 and one nail broke the same day while doing laundry. I've gotten my nails at many salons and they never broke so easily. I went back the next morning to get it fix and the guy at the front told me to come back when my finger heals since it was hanging off near the middle of my finger. When I came back another day the man was extremely nasty and demanded I broke the nail and should pay for it. First time to this salon and it will be my go to place. Place is immaculately clean. Everyone is very friendly and I have never seen such passionate people who truly treat their craft as an art. I highly recommend (young)Michael (there are 2 Michaels but I heard they are both amazing.). I came in with my nails very short and I wanted to have UV gel on top to strengthen to make them grow again. Michael took his time and my nails look amazing. He has an amazing skill set for designs as I have seen his work. The prices here are amazing in comparison to the nail salons I have been to especially considering the quality of work. I have been going to Michael at Future Nails for over 20 years now. I traveled from Bayonne to Linden and now travel from Kearny to Linden. I had tried numerous local shops in Bayonne (nails never lasted more than 2 weeks and customer services were horrible) before a friend had recommended Future nails. Michael is always willing to accomodate my schedule. My nails always last 3-4 weeks before needing a refill. I can only remember 1 occasion that I broke one and he was willing to fix asap.
